“Amazing breakfast spot that was a random find while in the area. Great service and really cute atmosphere. Kids meals are free with adult purchase & the portions of my son’s teddy bear pancakes were huge! Actually portions of everything is huge. The churro French toast was incredibly delicious and included as a side to my omelette…small upcharge well worth it!! If ever in the area again it will be a must to to revisit!“

“The food is delicious. Probably the best quick service style Mediterranean I’ve ever had.
The service is quite lacking here tho. If you do an online order for pickup, expect for something to go wrong. I’ve had multiple orders be late by 20+ minutes, or I get my order home and it’s completely wrong. I recommend just waiting in the line to order in person.“

“They make the absolute, hands down, best meatball grinder I've ever had. Everything about it is otherworldly.
The meatballs are well flavored and have the ideal texture and consistency one could ask of a meatball. There's an herby, garlicky flavor which is very noticeable without being overwhelming.
The sauce is just a little sweet, just enough to contrast with the meat. There was mozzarella and it seemed like a little bit of ricotta too, but not too much to make it gloopy.
The bread was perfect, really more of a hard, crusty, fresh baked roll. It provided a crunchy contrast while standing up to the healthy heaping of ball and sauce and cheese.
It was the best sandwich I've had all year and the best meatball sandwich I've ever had.“

“On the evening of July 5 my wife and I tried Avaspi on Belmont Avenue in Lakeview for the first time. It will not be the last! I love lamb and am quite particular as to how is it prepared. The “lamb delight” menu item was the best lamb I have ever had in a restaurant: tender, succulent, and prepared to perfection. The side salad accompanying it was not your ordinary side salad! My wife and I both enjoyed the Mixed Meze appetizer plate. Each of the five items was quite good but the muhammara was to die for. We ended our meal with tea, baklava and kubralice. The décor and ambience were refreshing and relaxing, and the service was outstanding. The pricing was very reasonable. Please give it a try. We do not think you will be disappointed.“

The daily specials which usually include a homemade soup with fresh bread are delicious and priced very economically. They also have homemade breads and deserts, all of which are very good.“

Family-owned businesses are typically the ones that have the best food because they do not necessarily look into mainstreaming menus and recipes. with smaller restaurants, you can typically find amazing price opportunities as well as some unique food that has not been released to the broad market. It almost makes locations like this become a treasure if you come across them. Huge shout-out for Lola's. Amazing dogs, burgers, shakes! give them a try when you get the chance. “I ordered the Thanksgiving catered dinner for two for our son. He absolutely raved about it, today! The pics and FaceTime presentation made us very envious. We’ve ordered quality Thanksgiving meals for him from other sources when he was living in Wisconsin. However, he said this meal was definitely better. Bonus points to catering manager (Tiffany) for helping to button-up the details and close the deal. We will definitely order again, next year. I very highly recommend The Goddess and Grocer catering!“
