“Amazing breakfast spot that was a random find while in the area. Great service and really cute atmosphere. Kids meals are free with adult purchase & the portions of my son’s teddy bear pancakes were huge! Actually portions of everything is huge. The churro French toast was incredibly delicious and included as a side to my omelette…small upcharge well worth it!! If ever in the area again it will be a must to to revisit!“

So i called to tell them we were on our way and that it was our anniversary and they hold the table for us and very kindly and warmly welcomed us to the restaurant eventhough we arrived 20 mins after. The server Audry is the best, she was so kind and so nice and she made sure we had a pleaeant and wonderful anniversary celebration, we are so thankful with her, she is the best!!!!! The service is quite lacking here tho. If you do an online order for pickup, expect for something to go wrong. I’ve had multiple orders be late by 20+ minutes, or I get my order home and it’s completely wrong. I recommend just waiting in the line to order in person.“

“I love this place and I love Giant. The crust is great, good texture and flavorful, and the cheese they use is top notch. Pepperonis were also high quality, if there’s a problem it lies with the sauce. There's hardly any, not even close to enough on either their tavern or NY style. Order the NY style with extra sauce. The tavern is so thin that there’s barely any room for sauce, if you care. Still solid tavern.“

“On the evening of July 5 my wife and I tried Avaspi on Belmont Avenue in Lakeview for the first time. It will not be the last! I love lamb and am quite particular as to how is it prepared. The “lamb delight” menu item was the best lamb I have ever had in a restaurant: tender, succulent, and prepared to perfection. The side salad accompanying it was not your ordinary side salad! My wife and I both enjoyed the Mixed Meze appetizer plate. Each of the five items was quite good but the muhammara was to die for. We ended our meal with tea, baklava and kubralice. The décor and ambience were refreshing and relaxing, and the service was outstanding. The pricing was very reasonable. Please give it a try. We do not think you will be disappointed.“

“The concept for the menu is a unique trip along the Pan-American highway with stops at various Latin countries. Each dish and drink is thoughtful in its ingredients and presentation. The jicama salad was refreshing, but not at all plain. The pastel de choclo was a wonderful surprise of a warm dish. The frozen el arenal was seriously dangerous in how delicious it was, I can’t recommend it enough. The atmosphere was beautiful and the music was perfect. We are so thrilled to have this gem in the neighborhood and can’t wait to see what they do in the future!“

“My husband and I haven’t had thai food since our honeymoon in Thailand, and this place hit the spot! The khao soi was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the Tom Kha (his favorite soup in thailand) and it was the perfect spice level for him. We shared the crab egg omelet and that was also phenomenal. Highly recommended if you want a taste of genuine Thai cuisine.“

“I love thai food and have been to many different places. This Thai restaurant has to be by far one of the best restaurants and food I had ever had. The customer service was phenomenal; the main server was highly attentive and polite. I loved their pad thai; literally tasted perfect compared to other pad thai dishes from other restaurants. My friend and I ordered their pork pot stickers as well, and they were absolutely divine. The dough was almost sweet and it paired well with the sauce and pork given in the dish. Do not even get me started on the chicken satay. The marinade and peanut sauce for this appetizer exceeded my expectations. Super juicy and flavorful. Overall the food plus the atmosphere was amazing; if I could I would give this place more stars. Thank you Rice and Noodles Thai Food!“

“As a fairly new pizzeria in Chicago their pizza is delicious. We got the Paddy Is Our Daddy pizza and a Margherita pizza. Both amazing. We got an Apple Italian salad to share. The only thing is they don’t have any appetizers but they said they’re working on it. Highly recommend.“

I use to go to the one on Randolph, but I no longer work in the city so today I took the Metra to the one that’s just a 5 minute walk from the OTC station and this location did not disappoint. I love their veggie blend, the juice that they put on it makes it a 10/10 & it’s honestly the reason I come here. I usually get the salmon with the veggie blend but today I tried the grains and I was not a fan, so Kim and Jose made it right. Kim is so pleasant, attentive and had great customer service. I can see why Jose won the “extra mile” award, he remade my meal which was totally unexpected but very much appreciated and him going the extra mile for me means I’ll keep going the extra miles on the Metra for my Brown Bag. Jose was very personable, kind and helpful. Thank you!

“When I'm in the area, I like to drop in. I appreciate the different flavors crammed into the little rice balls! The arancini, without the sauces, is still out of sight. But the fact that there's a separate sauce for EACH ONE is phenomenal and really kicks up the flavors! I've had them all, and I would do any first time reader/ visitor a disservice to choose a favorite. You can't go wrong, so give the flight a try! During my last visit I was given a taste of a side of veggies and I commented on the seasoning. The owner (a very genuine and kind man) gave me a small container of his own seasoning for me to try at home. 🥹 as someone who LOVES to cook, this gesture is don't take lightly. I will continue visiting Amici as long as Alfi will have us! ❤️“

“My family has been going to this establishment for the last 40 years. It has changed visually on the interior. There are more younger people servicing the counter. It’s a plus and often can be off setting to many. The owner explained that hiring well trained people on the frontline is difficult because of the increase in hourly wages that Chicago now must meet according to the mayor of the city. During Covid this along with many business suffered. The interior changed somewhat and at times it appears very quiet. When getting food to go always express your preference. If you love the hard core crusty type of fish you want cooked. Say that. Me personally I never ever thought that was a good idea Imo. I detest hard fried anything. So if you want it hard cooked Tell them That! Don’t complain without inputting your desires. Now as for the quality of fish. It is Excellent!! Hands down. I always get my fish or seafood raw. I cook it myself cause I know how I like it cooked. This imo is one of the best places to get fish especially fresh catfish in the city…. I wish I knew the supplier so I could thank them personally. So go there it’s worth it. DiColas is perfect fresh fish shopping.

“In this neck of O’hare, it’s the healthiest option, and at least when I went, not a bad one at all. A precious reviewer apparently had awful batches of food, but my chicken was just fine, and for a total of $15 I had a very large chicken salad chock full of veggies, plus eggs and chickpeas. Their house made honey mustard is really good. I’d skip the “smoothies” as they’re made of cartons of cream sludge, but the salad saved the day, and was served with a smile.“

Family-owned businesses are typically the ones that have the best food because they do not necessarily look into mainstreaming menus and recipes. with smaller restaurants, you can typically find amazing price opportunities as well as some unique food that has not been released to the broad market. It almost makes locations like this become a treasure if you come across them. Huge shout-out for Lola's. Amazing dogs, burgers, shakes! give them a try when you get the chance.
