Today my 11:18 AM pickup order wasn’t ready until 1:15 PM because the ticket got lost in the shuffle — it only got made thanks to the cashier repeatedly flagging it to her manager. Several other customers were in the same situation with missing or delayed online orders, while the line stretched 25 people deep.

I’m sharing this in hopes corporate can help limit or better manage online order volume during peak hours, or add more staff support. The in-store crew is doing their best — they just need backup.“

“On the evening of July 5 my wife and I tried Avaspi on Belmont Avenue in Lakeview for the first time. It will not be the last! I love lamb and am quite particular as to how is it prepared. The “lamb delight” menu item was the best lamb I have ever had in a restaurant: tender, succulent, and prepared to perfection. The side salad accompanying it was not your ordinary side salad! My wife and I both enjoyed the Mixed Meze appetizer plate. Each of the five items was quite good but the muhammara was to die for. We ended our meal with tea, baklava and kubralice. The décor and ambience were refreshing and relaxing, and the service was outstanding. The pricing was very reasonable. Please give it a try. We do not think you will be disappointed.“

“Good salads and smoothies, and now they have avocado toast. Tons of variety, order one of their salad concoctions or create your own. It is in my office building so it's convenient, the employees have been friendly (I usually go at less busy times). And they have an app you can use to pay and then get a credit when you spend a certain amount. This is a nice option to have for lunch or dinner.“

“Awesome service, line behind me, but Malachi handled it very well. I can tell he serves with a passion. Explained the ingredients after letting him know I was avoiding the sugar.

The food is celestially delicious 😋. I ordered the garlicky chicken shawarma bowl. He kindly offered me another salad in place of the rice which was, kao, broccoli, and feta cheese mixed with jalapeño.

Definitely sticking to this place.“

“The concept for the menu is a unique trip along the Pan-American highway with stops at various Latin countries. Each dish and drink is thoughtful in its ingredients and presentation. The jicama salad was refreshing, but not at all plain. The pastel de choclo was a wonderful surprise of a warm dish. The frozen el arenal was seriously dangerous in how delicious it was, I can’t recommend it enough. The atmosphere was beautiful and the music was perfect. We are so thrilled to have this gem in the neighborhood and can’t wait to see what they do in the future!“

“There’s lots of options to choose from (more on the sweeter side). Heads up, this is a grab and go bakery, therefore, there is no indoor seating (only a bar to stand at outside). They will also not heat up the pastries :/

It did not really taste like it had chocolate… it was still delicious, but it tasted more like an apples strudel and banana bread mix—yummy but not chocolate babka lol

The smoked ham brown grainy mustard + Gruyère croissant ($7.50) ⭐️2/5
This didn’t hit it for me :/ If you know you love gruyère cheese, then I say give it a go, if you’re unsure, probably try something else?

A bit on the drier side and I felt that they skimped on the chocolate a bit. But it was a delicious pastry

The customer service was phenomenal; the main server was highly attentive and polite. I loved their pad thai; literally tasted perfect compared to other pad thai dishes from other restaurants. My friend and I ordered their pork pot stickers as well, and they were absolutely divine. The dough was almost sweet and it paired well with the sauce and pork given in the dish. Do not even get me started on the chicken satay. The marinade and peanut sauce for this appetizer exceeded my expectations. Super juicy and flavorful.
