“Tonight I decided to venture out and try this restaurant my family has been RAVING about called Al’s Cafe in Downtown Elgin! I sat upstairs and had this lovely server named Marcie! She recommended the monthly special called “Moonstruck” and it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The ambience, service and food is unmatched! If you are looking for a great night out I highly recommend Al’s Cafe!“

“Ate there last night. The food was incredible and the service was outstanding. I’m pretty picky about vodka pasta and this one was the best I’ve ever had. The restaurant has such a fun modern 1920s vibe. They also have a kids menu so it’s great for date night or a family outing.“

“Service was amazing ! My husband & I are always up for experimenting with different foods & recipes. We were excited due to the fact that we were FINALLY going to try cow tongue...and we were not disappointed. We (I say "we" but honestly my husband did all of the prep & cooking) did a load of roasted vegetables & it was delicious. “My wife and I were in town for a weekend getaway from the kiddos. Our B&B hosts recommended us to come and eat here and they did not disappoint. The service and ambiance were great. We sat outside and watched the going’s on of this cute town while we ate. The food was amazing. Great taste and huge portions such as the 10oz burger I had loaded with onions and bacon. If you are passing through or staying in town it is well worth the trip in!!“

“First time here, I liked the name LOLWe had the chicken wings and Goat Curds (cheese curds). Tuesday is karaoke night. We didn't stay for that. No one wants to hear me sing. Hubby and I were given two tokens for a free drink next time we stop by and we will. I want to try a burger......Parking: It is very well lit up in the back of the building. You can enter from the front or back of the building and after a certain hour you can sit in front of the building where the window goes up. Cool....“

“It would be a perfect 5 stars but picking up food is CHAOTIC. There's no designated area for it and you have to almost fight the drunkies for access to the bar so you can talk to someone. Then good luck getting the attention of a bar tender. Holler at a bus boy if you can and they definitely help get you your food from the back.“

“For the people of Carpentersville and the surrounding area it is a good place to spend a pleasant and fun time, it has pizza, pasta, wings and more, very good seasoning and flavor of the food, on Thursdays it has a special and drinks before 10:00pm and they have karaoke night and on Saturdays they have a DJ, you can eat, drink and dance in one place, they also rent the place to celebrate a party although I recommend that if it is family it is during the day, the attention of the waitresses is excellent and I know Good place because you've been there often.?????“

I did not complain about mine but mama was talking to the manager when she started coughing so it was inevitable. I was quite surprised that, for the most part, customers place their orders themselves at any available in store kiosk l. I belive you cam place the order in advance from their app. Then you pay at the kiosk or app and seat yourself with the receipt. In a little while they bring your order to you. The food was good but not how I remember it. The French fries were great, the butterfinger Shake was outstanding! The server was polite and courteous.
