“Russell’s on Macklin is such a staple. It has a cozy and relaxed ambiance with a fireplace offering locally sourced American cuisine.Located in the Southampton neighborhood of St. Louis, it’s a family-run restaurant that prides itself on warm hospitality and mouthwatering dishes reminiscent of home-cooked meals. From their homestyle cooking to freshly baked goods, Russell’s on Macklin caters to both the brunch & dinner crowds. The menu features elevated versions of classic American favorites, highlighting the best seasonal ingredients available.I had the broccolini salad and lump crab cake. Both were delicious. I also shared in the cheeseboard.Don't forget to indulge in their tempting gooey butter cake.“
“I am ashamed to admit from the get-go...our food looked so good when it arrived at our table we dug in before taking any pics! Ugh. Once I thought about it I had done enough damage to my salad and plate it wouldn't have been very appetizing. I will say this though...Valentine's Day, sneaking out for lunch with your sweetie, 65 and sunny, AND Union Loafers tees you up for a great day! Happy Valentine's to all and thanks to Union Loafers to making our day even more special. Ambiance is always fun, loud place. We each ordered a chenin blanc, the little gem salad with beets (my favorite salad in STL!). My wife ordered the Turkey Swiss and I had the Bistro Beef. Everything was just outstanding. Of course a loaf of semolina to go. Service was great as always, place was packed. Love, love, love Union Loafers!“
“This place is so cute. Walls covered in books you can buy, nice drinks, and a ton of vegan baked goods (not all, but they are clearly labelled!). My partner and I had a blast drinking wine and playing games, and the scones are amazing. They also have various gifts for sale - mugs, candles, cards, etc. They even have a flavor of vegan ice cream! New favorite for sure!“
“My wife and I stopped by this morning before a four hour drive home for breakfast. I had the smoked pork chop with eggs and a biscuit, my wife a vegetable omelet. Both were fantastic, the portions were large and the prices very reasonable. The service was great. Highly recommend.“
“We just stumbled upon this bakery and it has become a (once a week) destination place! Please don't ask me the names of the treats I bought, my brain was lost after the first bite! One of the little cakes I bought today had (had bc I ate it all!) brown sugar crumbles on top with pink grapefruit inside. YES, Grapefruit! The sweet coupled with the juicy sweet-tart grapefruit was perfect! Give it a try! The chocolate chunk cookies, just have your milk ready! The staff make it a bit difficult (in a good way) in picking out a treat. Knowledgable of their products and friendly. I so wanted to do the Kevin Hart line of, "Let me get them all," while attempting to pick just one! I promise you, you will find something yummy to cure your sweet tooth on your first visit!“
“I absolutely adore this spot! I got the iced oat latte with hazelnut and a half focaccia sandwich. Everything tastes fresh and delicious! I want to go back for the gelato. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It has a modern look to it. The baristas are also very kind and helpful! What a cool coffee spot to visit!“
“Coffee is so good! Perfect balance of sweet with bitter in the caramel macchiato! I consider myself a coffee connoisseur having traveled to Belgium, Italy, and Turkey trying various coffee styles. This coffee from first taste was amazing. This is where they roast the coffee as well. Great atmosphere and customer service! Definitely recommend! ☕️????“
“This is the best cake I have ever eaten. We taste tested multiple different places in the area when we were trying to find our wedding cake. Once we taste tested the Cakery, we were blown away! They have so many basic and premium options to choose from regarding the fillings, frostings, cake flavors, and more. You can’t go wrong with any of their flavors, as we tried several. We ended up getting a strawberry cake with strawberry buttercream, and we did a rum cake with coconut buttercream. Our next favorite would probably be the French vanilla cake. We plan to go to them for all our cake needs here on out!“
“We ordered chocolate arch candy for our daughter’s wedding. She was doing a St. Louis theme for the wedding. They were a big hit with our guests. We also ordered cookies for our hotel guests gift bags. Also a big hit. The staff was great to work with. Highly recommend Dad’s cookies!“
“I don't know if cheesecake even needs reviewed because I've never met one I didn't like BUT Patty's does it so well. Between my group of 6 we tried just about everything from the banana pudding cheesecake to the strawberry champagne and LOVED it all! Service is super quick as it's in the foundry so you order from the counter and they grab it for you there and we were able to find plenty of seating out front and the general vibe of the foundry was, as always, immaculate. I'll definitely be back!“
“This restaurant is one of my favorites. Not only do they serve regular food, but they serve some of the best desserts I've ever tasted. When I tasted the desserts, I couldn't believe they were vegan. My favorite was the sweet potato cupcake. It was so delicious. The service was a little slow but they were pretty busy.“
“This place is amazing!!! I cannot say enough great things about it!! Everything was fresh and full of flavor!!! My kids loved the doughnuts, my husband’s breakfast sandwich was the best we’ve ever had, and my summer vegetable sandwich was out of this world!!! We will be back as soon as we can!!“
“BEST FAMILY on the HILL, So many many many fond memories of this ENTIRE family from growing up on their pastries, Christmas cookies, Cannoli's, BREAD , not enough room on the internet to talk about this FAMILY and then theirs the BAKERY LOL, I just cant say enough about the family and the Bakery Just amazing“
“The Cup never disappoints! I've been getting my birthday cakes here for years because they are simply the best. They even have birthday candles available when you pick up your cake! I can't even begin to describe the richness, freshness, and moistness of all their products. You just have to try it for yourself! They also serve lots of fun flavors, with both classic and rotating options. Confetti is my absolute favorite classic flavor, and Cookie Dough is my go-to seasonal flavor. Additionally, The Cup makes cupcakes that are safe for dogs, which my labradoodle absolutely loves. The employees are always very friendly, and I especially appreciate how patient they are with me when I'm feeling indecisive about my tough decisions! The interior of the restaurant has seating options available if you're wanting to enjoy your cupcake right away, or they are nicely boxed up if you're taking it for the road. I will always love this place!“
“A wonderful experience, starting with the lovely ladies behind the counter, and extending to the great little grocery store attached to the restaurant. But let's be real, you don't come here for the ambiance, you come here for the cevapi! And boy does it deliver. Expertly cooked sausages, lots of raw onion, banana peppers, and sour cream. As usual, bring your appetite or be prepared for leftovers... the sandwich is about the size of your face!If for some reason you're still not full, there is a full service bakery to satisfy your sweet tooth. And the Bosnian coffee is top notch as well.“
“Great cheesecakes and great service! I have ordered from Yummy's several times. Each cake has been great! Actually, I would go as far as to say that it is the BEST cheesecake that I've ever had! I have used the delivery services as well. Each delivery was timely and packaged well. The team is very professional. I will continue to support.Vegetarian options: Vegan and Vegetarian cheesecakesDietary restrictions: Offers Vegan and Gluten Free options that tastes amazing!“
“St. Louis staple! Best pastries and bread around. Adore their danishes (cheese, cherry, and chocolate are my fav!), and chocolate drops! They also take special orders which is awesome.Update: 2024 and still as efficient and delicious as ever even 100 Years in the business! Always fresh & fast service. Don't get turned off by the long lines inside, I PROMISE it's really a short waiting time similar to how Ted Drewes works.“
“Very nice French bakery in St. Louis. They had an assortment of pastries, macaroons, and other baked goods. They have limited coffee but many teas on their drink menu. I got a slice of the raspberry almond tart which was incredible. There are a few tables to eat inside, but I took to go. Lots of street parking close by. I’d definitely stop by again when in the area.Parking: There is a lot of free street parking in the area. There are some locations that are restricted during certain times.“
“I've passed this bakery many times in the past, but only stopped in this past Friday. I bought some shortbread, cookies, and a small quiche. Everything was amazing, but the quiche was SO good!! I can't wait to go back! Just wish I lived closer!!“
“Lovely atmosphere, though it's a bit small. I found seating somewhat limited as business picked up, so be prepared to stand or take-out during busy hours.I ordered a chocolate croissant and an iced matcha latte. The croissant was to die for all around, but I found that the matcha tasted a bit too milky.Overall, would recommend if you're looking for a cozy café experience!Parking: The parking was a bit inconvenient, but that's to be expected when you're in the city. There was a two hour parking lot shared between the local restaurants located behind the café, and some street parking and on-site parking. Nearly all of it was full when I parked.“
“I stumbled across this by accident and I'm glad that I did. The basic country loaf is great. All of the variants so far have been great--the olive and herb is fantastic. The focaccias are wonderful. That Funeral Potato version is killer for a crowd. Can't wait to try the mushroom.“
“The owner was unloading the van early in the morning getting ready to open up shop. I was doing laundry next door so while standing outside smoking I was offered a free plain glazed donut. Of course I took it, it was really early and I was hungry. Before that day I had never tried their donuts and the one I had was definitely delicious and it was cold. I would have given 5 stars but I wanted to first try more of the treats.“
“Lily's Panaderia has been open for many years. If you are a loyal customer or have visited the bakery, You’ll recall the old location being small and cozy. Their new location offers more space for customers to enjoy their freshly baked treats alongside a cup of coffee to start the day. If you like a savory treat, I would recommend the bread with cream cheese and jalapeño. For the sweet treats, I would recommend the conchas. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try real authentic Mexican bread here in STL. Lily’s panaderia always excels in taste and presentation too.“
“So I go to the store at Soulards ... and I'm hooked- the product is very good and tasty, while the cause is spectacular. Quite honestly , I just went in and bought some treats I really didn't need just because I now feel compelled to. I'll hopefully share them with others while sharing their mission too. The service is always friendly and appreciative , while surrounding ... hey it's Soulard's Maret! How quaint can you get? Thanks guys!“
“oh my goodness this man makes the best shrimp and tripe!! If you are old school from the hood of Sarah Lou his shrimps are on that level!! if you are old school and loved Mamajama and Ms. Debbie's Trip well this man Tripes are better than theirs. sorry Ms. Debbie but Sterling's Tripe are so good, crispy and does not have the pull!! I wished I had the money to set this man up in a restaurant where people could come and sit down!! He cooking is amazing!! Joann“
“Lovely ladies taking care of business.Very friendly.Just passing through, and grabbed about 30 bucks worth of wonderful cookies, and a loaf of bread that reminded me of Nauny.Highly recommend, if you're going to visit the Hill.♥️????“
“First time here and I am glad that my friend introduced this place to me. We came here on a weekend afternoon and there was a line inside. Made me think that they must be good and they really are! They have a big pastry selection, look and taste like home. :) Cookies, cream filled donuts (kind of like Beignets but bigger), flan, celebratory cakes, custard, layer cakes, Mille-Feuille items.. They have pretty much everything! Place looks clean. They have plastic gloves to pick up items from the display box. This humble bakery has so much to offer!“
“This is the much needed coffee shop in the City Foundry. Century Coffee Company is for coffee aficionados. This is a multi-roaster spot with meticulously curated selection of globally sourced beans from various roasters. They have all the top techniques and state-of-the-art technology.I love the 8 oz coffee cup. She’s small but it’s just enough. The space is inviting and the aroma of freshly ground beans can’t be beat. The baristas were friendly and smiling.“
“Unequivocally one of the best Bosnian bakeries in St Louis. They bake their lepinja breads fresh on saturdays and the pitas will literally be hot to the touch and fresh out of the oven. There’s no menu but the bakers also make delectable burek that is sold out within minutes of opening at 9am, so you’ll either need to call in advance to order or get there right at opening time!“
“We love El Chico so much! We asked them if they would provide cookies for our wedding (after a different dessert vendor stopped responding to us), and we are honestly so happy we ended up with them! El Chico was so easy to work with, so kind, and so helpful. We already knew their baked goods were delicious (we always stop for some cookies at the Tower Grove Farmer's Market), but our guests raved about the empanadas. I couldn't recommend them enough - whether it's an order for an event or just stopping in and grabbing some treats while you're on Cherokee! (photo is by Rachel Myers Photography)“
“I've stopped in the Cottleville location a couple of times and have really enjoyed the sausage and gravy and the sausage, bacon and cheese ones. It's a very good, very quick breakfast that's a little different from the norm.“
“Small coffee shop in a pretty part of town. It's worth getting a cup and walking the park in the morning. The lattes were very good. Tried the gooey butter cake. It was a bit thin, but didn't feel as overwhelming as other versions.“
“Exceptional food & value! I ordered the mini pup and nugget party trays for a party. These were the only appetizer I needed- they were devoured and I received multiple compliments on their taste. “Must be from pretzel boys, right?” Yes, it must!! Thanks for making my entertaining easy by providing delicious food with an easy pick up experience as well.“
“Our team had an exceptional experience at Cake Fusion. We chose this activity for our law firm's volunteer group, Holland Helping Hands, to have some fun in light of our annual team bonding day, and it was fantastic! We would highly recommend this wonderful, woman-owned business and will certainly be back. Thank you for curating such a pleasant and special experience for us!“
“We've been going to this family business for many years. They have stayed the course, friendly, caring, great service, great food and great prices. A blessing to our community to have a black own family business like this for over 50 years.Wheelchair accessibility: You can just roll right into the store. No steps etc.“
“The table service servers were quick and nice. The ice cream was great. However, tried to get some candy at the store and nobody wanted to check me out. I looked around at four different staff members for help and they all stared and went to clean tables or go to back rooms. Yes, it’s a slow night but we were there two hours before closing. Like come on.“
“Got together with friends today to celebrate a birthday, but the birthday girl is deathly allergic to eggs. I called Sweet Treats and she patiently suggested some things we could get. Wow! Everything was absolutely delicious. The birthday girl pigged out and said she has never found anything this good she can eat. Great customer service and great treats. Omg those creme horns! Everyone at the party said they will be going there from now on, even though some of them live a couple of towns over. Yum!“
“Hello All,We have been driving by this Billie’s Pastries for years. Each time I would say I am going to stop in and try the doughnuts. Well today was that day. I must say they did not disappoint. The doughnuts were delicious. Full of flavor, fresh and simply delicious. I highly recommend you give them a try. Nice friendly environment where you can gather to share a cup of coffee, read the paper and reminisce. They also serve hand dipped ice cream.Blessings and Love!??❤️“
