“Tonight I decided to venture out and try this restaurant my family has been RAVING about called Al’s Cafe in Downtown Elgin! I sat upstairs and had this lovely server named Marcie! She recommended the monthly special called “Moonstruck” and it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The ambience, service and food is unmatched! If you are looking for a great night out I highly recommend Al’s Cafe!“

“I haven't been to Alexander's in years and my last experience wasn't a good one. The food wasn't great and the service was terrible. This time was a complete 180° experience! The place has been renovated and looks very nice and very clean (including the very nice restroom). The food and service were, both, wonderful with nice selections on the menu. We went on a weekend, so they had a piano player who was very good. Even the prices weren't the usual "painful" experience of most restaurants. We will, definitely, return. I went because I was told they had improved, considerably, from what I remembered. They have!“

“My husband and I have been to Paul's in the past but we recently took our 1 year old for breakfast on his 1st birthday and the staff were SO kind! Our waitress surprised us with icecream (his first sweet treat!) and sang him happy birthday. It made his special day feel even more special. The food was great per usual but the environment is the best“

“Very good meal and extremely attentive service. We had the 2 for $32 Bourbon street chicken and shrimp. It had a good flavor and the chicken was very tender. The carafe of Tito's strawberry lemonade was tasty and was a good value. I enjoyed the tomato basil soup as well.“

“The food is delicious, instead of waiting to order you can go and get the food already made, there are signs to show where the seafood, meats, vegetables and desserts are, average service when it is full but in the part where you wait for the meat to be cooked, delicious desserts there are cakes, cookies, gelatin and much more! The beautiful atmosphere has background music and the lights make you feel at home, there are also signs in the part where the tables are where you sit to eat where they tell how to make one of the meals
