“Tried the Tava Fish Fry, Chicken 65 Biryani, and Mysore Masala Dosa. All items were quite good overall. A couple of minor points: the biryani would benefit from a saalna or gravy accompaniment, and the masala coating on the tava fish fry felt slightly thick or caked on. Otherwise, enjoyable meal.“

“I chose this restaurant because it was close to our hotel, highly rated, and within our budget. When we arrived (party of 3), the sign said “Open,” but there was no music - just an Indian drama playing quietly on the TV behind the bar. Three people stood at the counter, but it wasn’t clear if they were staff or customers. No one greeted us. The space felt cluttered and bare at the same time: six empty tables with lightly used tablecloths, a tall table with a silverware caddy and a pile of untidy napkins, and a bar strewn with boxes, papers, and menus. We stood awkwardly until I picked up what I hoped was a menu for my party to review while we waited. Eventually, two people left, and the remaining man asked, “How many?” and motioned for us to sit. He brought over two more menus and three lukewarm waters—two lightly carbonated, one tap. No other customers arrived during our visit.
We ordered chai, palak paneer, lamb curry, garlic naan, and tandoori chicken. Given the minimal service and odd atmosphere, we weren’t sure what to expect. But when the food arrived - brought out by a woman who materialized from the back and the same gentleman who had seated us - we were immediately impressed by the presentation. Plates and silverware seemed like an afterthought, as both servers retrieved them from different areas after the food was already on the table. Still, the food blew us away: rich flavors and generous portions. It may have been the best Indian food I’ve ever had. I had to ask for more water, but the attendant returned promptly with a pitcher. I thought they had forgotten my chai, but it was served after we finished eating. Then came the surprise ending: the man returned to ask for my name and number, explaining they’d send a payment link later.
If the space had more intentional ambiance — some background music, clearer service, a tidier setup—it would’ve been an easy 5-star experience. Nevertheless, I’d still highly recommend this restaurant for the food alone. It's a hidden gem in need of polish.“

“I’m so glad my friend recommended Zaika! The food was absolutely amazing—delicious, authentic, and full of rich flavors. Their dal has a comforting, homely taste, and the thin chapatis are just perfect. The lamb and goat curry were both outstanding—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. On top of that, the prices are surprisingly low for the quality and quantity of food they serve. It’s rare to find such authentic Indian cuisine at such an affordable price. Highly recommend!!!“

“If you are looking for an Indian restaurant that is good and affordable this is a place to try. My partner and I got the variety tray which includes rice, salad, chana masala, naan, chicken, and lamb. We had the chicken in korma curry which was so flavorful. The naan bread was so flaky and light. The food was fresh and tasty. If you want dessert, I recommended the mango lassi and the galub jamun. They are like sweet donuts in fresh and airy whipped cream. Overall all the food was great. Would come back.“

“So far I’ve eaten at Vasco’s twice with my coworker. The food is delicious. It is perfectly spiced, chicken is cooked to perfection and not dry. The garlic sauce is very tasty. It is very clean. The people working there are extremely nice and helpful. My coworker doesn’t know much about Indian food so she had a lot of questions. They were patient and answered all of the. The owner came to our table both times we were there to ask how things were. It is a place that you order at the counter and they bring it to your table. We are already planning our next visit.“
“This Lous was built on the concept of turning customers. Was there during lunch and it was at most 1/2,full. Sadly, it was almost impossible to have a conversation as the noise in the restaurant was ridiculous. Sooooo noisy people leave to hear themselves. This is a carry out only location...unless you bring megaphones for everyone to use at your table“

“🔥🔥I don't know why this restaurant has below 4 stars.🔥🔥
Their food was delicious and it is authentic. I had two full plates of each item on the menu and it was all delicious. The different chicken currys, nann bread, deserts etc. we're all great. A dinner buffet of authentic Indian food for $16.99 is a great deal and well worth it!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION! 💯“

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, which gave it a warm atmosphere. Plus, the restaurant was very clean, making me feel comfortable.
One of the highlights for me was the outdoor patio. It’s a spacious area with lots of lights that create a great vibe for a meal. they host some amazing parties and have affordable setups, which is a big plus.
Overall, Hyderabad House is a gem that just opened, and I highly recommend checking it out. You won’t be disappointed!“

“I have been eating there for the last 14 months and have never experienced anything but excellent food and great dine in service. When I request my food extra spicy (like Thai places over the Lincoln tunnel) I get exactly what I asked for. Also, they have the best food I've eaten in all of North Chicago. I recommend either the lamb or goat curry.“

“It is reasonably priced Pakistani food, or at least some of the dishes are reasonably priced. We are unfamiliar with Pakistani food hence I wanted to try it while passing through Lombard. I had the butter chicken plate ($7.69). we ordered the shami kabob ($12 for 4 pieces) which was extremely hot and the ground beef was like paste. We could not eat the shami kabab because it was over hot. It was a waste and I don't recommend it. We also ordered the Achar Ghost ($12) which was quite nice. The portions for the $12 dishes are very small. The chicken plates are quite good and good value because they come with a large paratha each.“

“I highly recommend Vasco’s Peri Peri. The food is amazing and the size portions of the food is incredible. Especially in this economy. The lemon and herb chicken bowl is to die for. This place is BETTER than Chipotle. Love this place! And excited for the new location in Lombard.“

““Absolutely Amazing Experience!”
I cannot say enough good things about this place! First and foremost, the food is absolutely incredible—every bite was bursting with flavor, and you can tell they use the freshest ingredients. Whether you’re a foodie or just someone who loves a good meal, this is the place to be.
The ambiance is spotless and welcoming; the entire place is so clean, it’s like they have a full-time team dedicated to keeping it pristine. But here’s the cherry on top: the bathroom. Yes, I’m going to mention the bathroom because it smells amazing. It’s like walking into a spa—seriously, it’s that good!
If you’re looking for great food, a clean environment, and attention to detail (even down to how their bathroom smells!), this is the restaurant for you. I’ll definitely be coming back!“

“We had brunch at Shahi and it was a get together of almost 75 ladies. the quality of food , taste and service was out of this world. just the Chinese noodles were extra spicy but rest was 5/5. I love the decor, taste and hospitality since the owner Rahila Al Karim took over.“

“Really good chicken tikka masala, I asked for naan, he said they didn't have it but they had roti??? I think that's the name. I said ok sure.
It is thinner than naan but really good. Great customer service. There is no dine in at all, only take out. Inside is ok, not much going on.
Will come back & will remember to ask to make it spicier. I didn't know you could choose the level of spicy.“

Wheelchair accessibility: The wheelchair ramp on the left door do not have it till the door and there is a step. Not sure wheelchair accessible entrance on the right side“
