“While my wife & I were shopping in Downtown Galena we decided to take a little break. Instead of coffee our normal break confection we decided to try Champagne on Main, (our 1st visit). Well it won't be our last. It was a Saturday early afternoon and we were warmly greeted by Laura the owner. She gave us a great table up front by the Bar & Sunny Front Window. The day was cold 32 degrees outside but inside Champagne on Main it was delightful. Laura was so excited about her place and gave us a bit of history on her old building. Drinks were perfect & prices not bad. We relaxed, (chilled) there for about an hour...then off for more shopping. Thank - You Galena for the great day.....and you to Laura!PS - Laura showed us her new El Fresco outside seating area out the back door...nice quiet garden like spot with a tall wood fence that seats about 30 people. “One of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten at. The margaritas were outstanding made with fresh fruit juice. All of the food we ordered was amazing and homemade. The staff were wonderful, so nice and accommodating. Prices are higher than a typical Mexican restaurant but completely worth it.“
“You will fall in love with Jamie immediately and Teddy is an absolute gem. We were in town for the Whisky Weekend and she served up some awesome selections for the tasting. Jimmy ran the tasting, he was informative and knowledgeable and no complaints about the pours. If you like gin, bourbon, rye, whisky, wine, craft beer, or champagne then see Jamie it's all there. I will visit Jamie and Teddy every time I'm in Galena.“
“My wife enjoyed the seafood special The salmon on the menu was not as good. The Poblano Purée was kind of spicy to go with salmon and the plantain thing was dry and not very tasty. Our server Chris was excellent as always. I wish there was more than one seafood dish on the menu.“
“First time there and everyone should go. Everyone was so friendly. The old fashioned I had was fabulous. They have photo booth that you can even put the photos that you take on the wall. It has a 70s vibe going on. Just a great place over all.“
“Don't let the name fool you, it's so much more than beer. Every dish has been excellent without exception (the chicken and waffles are my favorite), and the service has always been top notch. Because of this we always recommend visitors new to town try the Tap House, and many of them will come back to our shop the next day to thank us for the recommendation.“
