“Had a wonderful breakfast here! We stopped in after renting an airbnb upstairs. We ordered the spinach and feta cheese croissant, hashbrowns, and eggs, chicken fried steak and biscuit with gravy. We were very pleased with our generous plates and tasty meals! We were allowed to sit wherever we wanted. Our waitress Kai was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was cozy and we would definitely come back. We also ate at Otto's while in town and Charlie's Place definitely pleased us more! “Went here for dinner on a Friday night and we were kind of surprised that it wasn't busier. We were able to pick our table and the waitress was quick to come get our drink and food orders. We ended up getting the Embe cream of mushroom soup, the Embe, Embe's cuban, and a tiramisu martini. The soup was the standout with the additions of sundries tomatoes and artichokes that you don't normally see in a cream of mushroom. They added some great extra textures. The sandwiches were both pretty good, but the Embe with chicken was super messy. It was good that our waitress brought a stack of napkins to the table ahead of time. They have a bunch of specialty martinis and the tiramisu was nice and creamy. More of a dessert drink. Overall, nice staff, very laid back atmosphere, and good food. We recommend it as a stop.“
“Yum! The fresh apple pop tarts were an afterthought but will be forever remembered as the standard from which all other pop tarts will now be compared. 4 for brunch and all happy. Good bloody Mary's made with a house made mix. Good hot biscuits and light creamy gravy, perfect potatoes. This is a relatively small venue and quite popular. There's a nice park close by to wait for a table. No food service at the bar.“
“The food and staff are outstanding. The hostess and our waitress were extremely pleasant and helpful. I had the Italian beef and my wife had the Sloppy Joe. Mine was very good. Hers was epic. Also highly recommend the boozy shakes. This place is a must-eat-here.“
“On Feb 2nd we went there for dinner with our two kids. Our son has an allergy so we called ahead to make sure they could accommodate his dietary needs. The lady answering the phone and the guy who waited on us were great. They took our sons allergies very seriously and the cooks made our sons meal special to avoid any issues. We really appreciate the extra care they took.“
“very nice venue. it would most probably have had a nice ambience if we did not have the unfortunate incidence of having a group of loud obnoxious people (the type of people it would be nice to see turned away) get there right before us. What ever happened to dressing for dinner, or dress codes for fine dining? This is one of those laces that would really be nice if it had one. you pay for the experience, and that experience is lessened by those individuals that do not/ cannot act civilized, let alone respectable.“
“My wife enjoyed the seafood special The salmon on the menu was not as good. The Poblano Purée was kind of spicy to go with salmon and the plantain thing was dry and not very tasty. Our server Chris was excellent as always. I wish there was more than one seafood dish on the menu.“

She took our order and we had to wait for quite a while for our food and we saw her again when the bill came. I will still come here but will sit in a different section.“
“Our 1st visit to Highlands. The server was great, knowledgeable, and attentive without hovering. We had appetizers, sandwiches and drinks. Everything was tasty. The outdoor patio deck provides a perfect view of the golf course/countryside. The large floor to ceiling windows allow the same lovely view from inside the restaurant as well. We will definitely visit again.“
“I gave 4 stars to food, as my walleye dish tasted "fishy" like the fish sat too long before cooking. However, everything else was excellent! My husband's meal was delicious. He ordered a more traditional Italian dish. The bread and appetizers were perfect. The tiramisu was wonderful and enough to share. The wine list was good too!“
