“After a week of travel for this Mom, the last thing I wanted to do was to make dinner. This isn't the first time we've been to Glen Prairie and I knew it was just the place I wanted to go. The atmosphere is warm, but quiet. Perfect for a good family catchup. The food is comforting without being too heavy and the wine, beer and cocktail selection is the perfect pairing. We've had the pleasure of being served by Anna a few times now and she does a great job. She is attentive and watchful, without being overbearing which is a difficult skill to master for a lot of servers. Aside from that, I love that it is a safe place for folks with food allergies and I feel very well taken care of in respect to that issue. I can tell that everyone from the hosts to the servers to the bartenders to the kitchen staff are very well trained in creating a safe and welcoming experience for each guest. Glen Prairie is quickly becoming one of our go to family favorite restaurants and we will definitely be back!“

“I’ve eaten at Bleuroot twice when traveling through Chicago for hockey trips. Every bite has been phenomenal and there have been many “Oh you’ve got to try this” shared plates. “We love this place, very good food and newspaper coupons are frequent. However, I’ve loved their chicken for years but something changed about 2 years ago. I think they may have switch cooking oil or something. Chicken is now bland and a little “off”“

Leaving was just a easy. The food was really good! Though it would have been great if the potatoes were cooked a bit longer. But everything else was fantastic! “We came here to celebrate my husband's (big) birthday. Ivy couldn't have been more accommodating and lovely. Although they were very busy and service wasn't quick, we didn't mind at all because we were enjoying our time there so much. The food was delicious, as usual. One of our steaks was way overdone, but these things happen sometimes, and they rectified it quickly. This has been our favorite restaurant for special occasions for many years, and we will keep coming back.“

And that is not only due to the great food but more than anything the outstanding service from the staff. We have always filled so valued and appreciated as patrons. The experience is second to none. Specifically, Michelle and Kristin in the bar area are some of the best people who have ever taken care of us. We hope Country House stays here for a very long time.“
