“Prairie River serves as a sports bar for the Eaglewood Conference Center and proverbial 19th hole for the golf course. The restaurant bar is in the bottom floor of the center and has a walk out basement feel to it. The dining room is large and open, line with TVs playing various sport programs. Outside is a beautiful patio with large fire pit that they light at night. The menu is limited with only 4 sandwiches and a couple entries plus apps. I ordered carry-out dinner of the Turkey Club Sandwich, which comes with a side (I chose Caesar salad) and I also got the Truffle Fries, which are to die for. The Turkey Club was large in delicious chewy Italian toast with a tomato aioli sauce. The sandwich had plenty of turkey, crispy bacon, perfectly ripe avocado and lettuce and tomato. It was delicious. The generous portion of Caesar salad was very good as well. The Truffle fries are delicious. They are covered with garlic and parmesan and severed with an aioli dipping sauce. The portion is large and easily shared among several people. The service is fairly fast. About 10 minutes. There is plenty of free parking and the complex is quiet and remote. I'll definitely return.“
“Worth the wait and must try! Beautiful and unique venue in the unassuming town of Des Plaines. Our server was kind and welcoming, food was delicious, drinks were fun and tasty. The only two items that were less than ideal, the horrible acoustics (incredibly loud) and although it was too on my list to try, the chicken shawarma rolls were underwhelming. Even with those two items, the great service and food quality it's still worth the 5 star review. We sat upstairs, which very much appreciated, being out of the hustle and bustle of the downstairs. My only complaint is that the food menu is a little limited; I would have expected more options. I had the salmon, which was very good, and paired with an appetizer of the crab cake. Other issue was that most everyone had a taste for pasta, and mac and cheese was the only pasta option.“

For lunch I feel it’s a moderately good deal but for dinner I was a little surprised at the portion size compared to the price, we did enjoy all of our dishes but having a hard time with the value. The charred cauliflower appetizer was tasty but small portion for over $12. The lasagna Bolognese made with a chicken sausage was equivalent of two large raviolis stacked on top of each other. For $20 I would expect a bigger portion. Overall a higher rating due to the ambience of the restaurant and service was good.“

When you walk into the hotel, the Thorn restaurant is to your right. The vibe is semi classy and intimate. It can also be a casual place to hang out, eat, and watch tv. Service was fantastic, they really take care of you over here. Prices are reasonable given the atmosphere. I had shrimp tacos, hemp hummus, and the Westcoast smasher burger. Pro tip: when you check in on Yelp, you get the hemp hummus for free. It was big enough to share with two other people.-shrimp tacos 5 - these are good sized tacos. Easily shareable. The shrimp pieces were fresh and juicy. Shells were soft. Avocado pieces were large chunks. The corn tortilla chips were crunchy and did not break easily.-hemp hummus 5 - fresh ingredients and warm naan. Very light appetizer.-Westcoast smasher 5 - ordered it medium and it came out perfect. It’s a very clean burger. Your hands don’t get oily or greasy. Meat practically melts in every bite. Special sauce amplifies the flavor. French fries were crispy and they’re on the thinner side. There was at least one other that may be meatless, the mac n cheese crepe on special. The menu over all was extensive and fun to choose from. They had Deep River chips, which are excellent. Will definitely be back for more savory crepes and to try a sweet crepe. My one criticism is that despite eating in, our food was served on a paper plate and only plasticware was available. Eating a crepe with a plastic fork is a bit awkward. It would be nice if they had actual silverware when you're eating in.“

It was so warm and sweet.Elly's Pancake House was for all ages, from kids, teenagers, young couples to 40s and elderly. This place is definitely being loved by everyone.I ordered Chicken and Bacon Waffle and my boyfriend ordered Skillet, as always, and he said Elly's Skillet is almost the Best Number 1 Skillet he've ever had. The Waffle was sooo great and their side salad was very huge. I mean, their waffle is really different than others - it's thick, crisp and delicious... Also it actually contains bacon in the waffle dough....Yum!We also had some pancakes on the side and it was good too.Only one minor thing that they can improve is their staffing. I think they need more servers, I didn't get a refill for my coffee during my entire meal.
