“I have been to Wu’s House in Merriville, IN and Orlando Park. This location is by far an overachiever. The pond, the bridge the decor inside I felt like I was on vacation. all employees were oh so inviting, but our server his name is Yoga. He put his heart and soul into our service and made our experience extraordinary. I have been having sushi for quite a few years now, but this sushi was the best I’ve ever had. I know that is a bold statement, but oh so true. Our meals were freshly made. The flavors were spot on. I wished I lived next-door so I could go every day. I live in Joliet, but I will be coming here as often as I can. It is well worth the One hour trip. I Pray for your success, you are an asset to the community.“

“Sushi lover here. Ordered couple times 3 rolls lunch special and it was great. The quality of the rolls is top notch. Today I went to try the signature nigiri and Ari maki along with their house sake and it was just amazing.
Make sure to try the Zuke salmon nigiri, Yellowtail signature nigiri and the Big eye tuna nigiri as well. They are all wow😌“

My last visit, the chef was literally the server at the same time, I did a walk-in takeout order for Sashimi and it was ready fresh in 10 mins. Tasted incredible. Pro tip: Sometimes their hours aren't accurate on here, I've found them to be actually open a few times when internet said closed, so always worth a phone call attempt first!“

“Everything was absolutely delicious! The grilled mackerel was the highlight of the meal—so juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We also loved the gyoza, which were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor. The miso soup was fresh, comforting, and a perfect start to the meal. The Daikiri Salad was also excellent—fresh, light, and a great complement to the rest of the dishes.
Everything tasted fresh and was beautifully prepared. We will definitely be coming back to try more dishes from the menu. Highly recommend this place!“

miso soup- good could have been more hot
Tuna crispy rice- good, had a sweet sauce drizzled on top and small but very good
Otoro sashimi
Otoro and hamachi hand roll- otoro was outstanding
Sunset roll- not my favorite but quality of fish was amazing and presentation with edible stars

“Hanakawa is my comfort food spot, no question. Their fried rice with the yum yum sauce is what I order every single time, honestly haven't branched out because why mess with perfection. Consistent every visit, great portions, and the yum yum sauce alone is worth the trip. If you haven't tried it you're missing out.“

“If you want authentic food an amazing experience then this is your go to. The owners are hardworking and they do everything themselves. When you come here, you will be greeted by the hostess/waitress with a smiling face. A sweet Japanese man will be making the sushi and a lovely woman in the kitchen preparing with love all of the hot dishes. It is places like this that I love to eat, quite the opposite of the corporate chain restaurants who give you minimal while charging the max. This place does the opposite. You get the full value out of your dollar and it is well spent. The freshness of the sushi and the flavor of the chicken yakitori are second to none, because love is an ingredient that is not often found in restaurants anymore. Please do yourself a favor and bring your family to a restaurant that you will feel wholesome while filling you up.“

“We've lived in this area for 20 years now, and this is hands down one of our favorite local establishments. The service is warm, yet efficient, and the food is outstanding. Highly recommend for an evening with a few friends or an intimate one on one dinner.

Immaculate tempura and generally have your order ready quick and fresh.

I got the Edomar Tempura plate and loved it.
I especially love how when you get the plate they include the grated daikon in your tentsuyu! The only place in the US I've seen even include it.

Absolutely try it out if you haven't yet. I highly recommend any combo that includes a shishito pepper with it!“

“The bacon with quail eggs is my favorite skewer! The quail egg adds a deep flavor but is balanced out with the bacon.

The chicken skewers are consistently good. I personally enjoy the chicken thigh skewers. Also, the sausage skewers are pretty consistent in flavor.

I have tried their takoyaki multiple times. I feel it’s a hit-or-miss. Sometimes they are fresh, other times, they are a bit stale. But I still order them.

The same goes for their chicken skin skewers - they could also be a hit-or-miss.

Overall, whenever I visit Mitsuwa, I always order from Toritetsu. :)“
