“Great little BIPOC owned & run confectionery. Lots of chocolates, gummies, baked goods & an ice cream shop to boot. Everything is fresh (not sitting around for weeks & months like many candy shops). And the folks there are pleasant.The aesthetic is nostalgic & sits in a cute, dutch-themed shopping area.Need something for A birthday or holiday? They come up with the cutest themed concepts for every celebratory day you can think of. I am a huge fan of the cashew ladybugs (caramel, cashews & chocolate)…not common everywhere.A bit pricey, but matches its location & I’m never disappointed.“

“Staff is always friendly and answer any of your questions. The popsicles come in even more flavors than the already vast ice cream choices. Just beware that some of the popsicles taste icy or have weak flavor. The ones that have cream/milk inside are much better.“

My wedding was scheduled for August 8,2020. But due to Covid-19, we unfortunately had to cancel. Janice was extremely compassionate, understanding and flexible during the whole process. Sweet Home Gelato was the most compassionate and flexible vendor. It is not easy to cancel a wedding, unfortunately many vendors were not as accommodating. He was incredibly patient, even taking the time to show me the actual size of the scoops and providing spot-on recommendations, including which flavor would be the least sweet for my child. But even when it gets cold out, still fun to go to even during a brutal Chicago area winter.This is probably the one ice cream parlor around compared to others that has a huge emphasis on toppings/creations which is definitely their strong point.Always a great selection of flavors between their regular year round and seasonal flavors, prices still seem reasonable although the high-end ice cream chain has never really been cheap and customer service remains consistently good in an always spiffy clean/sanitized atmosphere.CSC obviously does battle with competitors such as Oberweis up the road and Graeter's. When it comes to taste and quality, this place lives up to the price and my kids are well worth it anytime of the year.Only con (which doesn't drag down a 5⭐️ rating) about this place is the parking lot which can be greatly limited especially on wknd nights when nearby Giordano's gets packed. You may find yourself having to park east across the street from Starbucks and walking a bit of distance.“

“As a self-proclaimed boba connoisseur and lover of local businesses, I was hoping to add another to my growing list of affordable, quality, and quaint boba joints.

Instead, I opted to try their small selection of quality ice creams. Only 6 flavours are available, but it's extremely customisable and the staff is very accommodating.

I was absolutely blown away by the vanilla ice cream. The taste is subtle and not overpowering, but it's a fresh kind of vanilla I've never had and is sure to please all vanilla lovers. The texture of the ice cream was perfect - it didn't melt too fast, not too soft or frozen, and it was creamy but not overwhelmingly creamy. Simply put, you NEED to try it!

The individual who accommodated me was phenomenal! I unfortunately was unable to ask his name, but he took great care of my vanilla ice cream with oreos in a cake cone. Furthermore, I was able to learn more about the business and how involved they are in the community, which is always a plus.

Although I didn't try their boba, I have no doubt it's as quality as their ice cream. Overall, I love the business and am excited to come back with friends and family!

Parking: The parking is a bit small as the store itself is in downtown Deerfield and located along a busy main road (Rt43/Waukegan Rd). I can imagine during more busy hours, it'd be difficult to find good parking as, other than the small parking lot in the back, you may have to walk to the location.

Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly! The menu is extremely customisable, especially if you have any dietary allergies.“

I guess I musta been living under rock (actually no) but apparently I misunderstood the concept behind the famed bakery.When I first walked in and browsed the menu, I was like "only 6 different types of cookies?" Well ok then, guess I'll try each one times 2. I eventually found out from my stepdaughter that there's a rotation each week which makes perfect sense.These cookies are outstanding: they stay soft, moist & flavorful for several days and the price which may seem high to some is definitely worth it. The ability to add on to the cookies is ideal as well.Customer service is down-to-earth friendly and helpful and as long as they keep baking that yummy goodness with consistency, I'll keep coming back for more.“

He was so proud to have designed a donut (which was actually just the cookies and cream option from the menu) but he watched them make it and decorate it and then showed it to everyone he passed. “They have the best ice cream! So good I normally only eat 1 scoop but when I go here I get 2 or 3 because they're so good. The employees are so nice, especially the teenage girls. The girl with blond highlights and the girl with dark hair are so sweet! On vacation I went to a gelato place, thier gelato was FULL OF SUGAR all I tasted was sugar but here I actually taste the flavor. The flavors are so good. I 100% recommend the banana and strawberry .I would have given this place six stars but it only goes up to 5.“

“I’m lucky to be right next to Michoacán a Pedir de Boca at the mall! Their treats are seriously the best. Fresh fruit, ice cream, elote, amazing drink flavors, and a friendly staff that makes you feel welcome every time. I’ve been to many Michoacanas, and this one has the best fresh fruit drinks I’ve had (agua de fruta is my favorite). I haven’t even had the chance to try everything yet, but if you’re at Gurnee Mills, you’ve got to stop by. Great people, great treats…can’t recommend them enough!“
