“I didn’t walk into Sweet! Froyo & Candy.
I drifted in. Like a misunderstood soul seeking cold comfort in a world that never asked if I was lactose tolerant.

The neon sign screamed “SWEET!”
But nothing in this life is sweet. Not really.

The froyo machines hummed like they were whispering secrets about my dreams. So many flavors. Too many flavors. Vanilla. Chocolate. Strawberry. Pineapple. Each one a different version of the person I could’ve been if things had just gone so much differently.

I chose cookies & creme boba frappé.

The boba sank to the bottom of the cup like my trust issues.
I stabbed at them with the spoon and it felt good.

It was creamy.
Too creamy.
Like it understood me.

The toppings bar glittered under fluorescent lighting — gummy bears smiling like they’ve never known heartbreak. Sprinkles scattered like optimism.

Will return when the night feels heavy again. 🖤🍦“

“Really great selection of flavors (ice creams and juices). The ice cream is soft and flavorful and delicious! You will find some classics, a lot of Mexican flavors and also a lot of seasonal flavors. The variety and the amount of options is really great and you will definitely find a match for you there (if not several). The girl who served us was very nice and helpful with our choices. The prices are not so sweet as the products so is not a place to go back as often as desirable.“

William made our daughter a minion milkshake (and secretly made it healthy without her knowing, which was perfect for our very picky eater), and our son enjoyed a taro boba tea with popping mango boba. “Love this place! I’m from Wisconsin but life close to the Illinois boarder. I came across this gem while driving by. We stopped and order food- and then went back up to the window to order a few more times. The staff were very sweet and time efficient. Their creamsicle soft serve cone is to die for! “Good vibes. Glad it’s open. Got around 6 items. Most were good but the Carmel covered rice crispy was hard as a rock. Not sure if it was on the shelf for days or just over cooked but it truly hurt my teeth when I attempted to take a bite out of it. I tossed it out. I know these can be cooked and be soft cause I’ve had it at other locations cooked to perfection.

I will give it another shot and update this from 4 to 5 stars if they will just check the hard or staleness in the morning of some of the larger more expensive selections.

Tip: you can just pick up the rice crispy Carmel by the stick and tap it on a plate. If it goes clink clink clink, please throw it out before someone loses a tooth.

“releaf is located in the food court of Mitsuwa. I tried the coffee ice cream and the chocolate ice cream. The coffee ice cream had a yummy coffee flavor, and chocolate is always delicious. The ice cream had a very good texture, too. I'd like to try the matcha ice cream on my next visit.
They provided a little wooden stick which was adequate for my ice cream eating purposes.
The food court has a nicer ambience than your average food court in a mall.“
