“I find some of the low reviews here baffling. I think some people may be confusing this restaurant with other Chinese restaurants due to its rather non descript name. Make no mistake, the food here is excellent and punches way above its price point.Coming in the first time I was pessimistic. It seemed your standard pre prepared food menu ready to dish out quickly to the lunch crowd panda express style. I quickly became a huge fan after eating large well prepared portions I would expect from a normal sit down restaurant. Yes it's your standard generic fare but made so much better.Great food, great price. Appreciate these places, the owners care about making something good.“

“I ordered a half order of the black dragon, which is a specialty maki. The ratio and texture of the rice were ideal. The outside became charred, resulting in a grill-like appearance and scent to the brittle eel meat. The black fish eggs scattered on the maki gave it a peculiar texture, and the tobiko's color fit the theme. What a welcome appetizer for me.I ordered their lunch special salmon bento box for my main course. Every section has distinct protein, carbohydrates, and vegetables. Perfectly cooked salmon was topped with shredded fried potatoes, and a stir-fried mixture of veggies with a teriyaki sauce. The gyoza had a tasty filling and a crunchy outside. Since the bento box included miso soup and salad, I believe they should replace the cabbage salad with something else. The food was tasty and substantial.“

“Sen Sushi is a tad hidden off of Oak Park Street near Addis’ Cafe. It’s a clean no frills place that offers good amount of specialty rolls and great Sashimi and Nigiri sets.They don’t take reservations and it is small, but seems like turn over is pretty fast. Definitely a place to try if you want decent sushi this side of the burbs.Parking: There is paid parking in front of the building or if u go about half a block down, free parking in front of the houses.“

“I’ve been here twice so far and it’s been soooo delicious both times. I’ve gotten the build your own burrito and the boba drinks. The burrito portions are perfect for $15. It’s definitely worth it. The boba drinks are made perfectly. I recommend it to anyone who loves sushi as much as me!10/10 Highly recommended!“

“Went to Roka on March 1 for a 6:45pm reservation party of 5. I must say WOW on the service. Tim always made sure we were checked on, provided us with a complimentary appetizer with the appetizers we ordered, and at the end a beautiful complimentary dessert platter celebrating a birthday with glasses of champagne for us girls! Appetizers we ordered were sushi, wagyu dumplings and tuna tatar (AMAZING) we ordered more of the dumplings . The New York strip with truffle aioli mouth watering . It was my first time at the restaurant and I definitely will be returning ! Thank you Tim!!! 5 stars!“

“Would certainly give 3.5 stars if possible, but 3 felt too low so going with 4. Hokkaido Chashu Ramen was good. Broth was great, but the potato wedges threw me off and I’m sorry, but what Hokkaido ramen doesn’t come with butter?! (You have to order on the side). Karaage was nice and crispy but underseasoned, and the rice was mushy and flavorless. If you’re going to call yourself an authentic Japanese restaurant, you better know how to make rice, and this wasn’t it.“

“Well, I came here for many times and didn't have a chance to write a review for this restaurant. It is located in a small plaza right off Higgins and Lively. The staff were friendly and quick service. One thing I love about this restaurant is the daily specials just $12. Every day they have different offers for their daily specials. The food was worth compared with the prices you paid. I would love to come back here to try their daily specials.“

“All was good, tasty food. I didn’t like that tips were already included to the bill and after paying waiter brought pen to leave more. When I asked if tips were already included to the bill I got the answer “yes”, and waiter was not very happy that I asked. Hmm, I do not mind but why after it’s included waiter brings pen to leave more tips???“

“We celebrate my daughter's birthday here and had a great dining experience. The hostesses checked us often which we like and wait staff made sure our tea and water were filled and promptly cleared our dishes before the next course. Food was excellent with many choices and they had a decent varieties of sake and Japanese beer. I will definitely return more often.“

“Went here for lunch on a monday afternoon. Everything was alright. They offered lunch specials which I liked. We split a bulgogi bento and two specialty rolls. Everything came to about $50I really enjoyed their tempura. It was light and crispy I just wish it came with more cause I could eat a ton of that without feeling awful. Sushi was fine. I'd probably try others. Not really a fan of their rice.“

The fish seem fresher and the bowl was filled to the brim. The best poke bowl ever.
