“We always get both the pork and chicken katsu and it’s nearly enough for two adults and two kids. I seriously don’t understand how they can make katsu so perfect. Sad I didn’t come here earlier in my years in Chicago.“

“best sushi in the chicagoland area for me! this little stall inside Hmart Niles’ food court is such a hidden gem. my husband and i actually come here once a week now, it’s officially become our comfort-food spot. i’m not a raw-sushi person at all, but they have amazing cooked options. i'm obsessed with the salmon yaki roll. seriously, it’s that good, always fresh and consistent.

we chatted with the owner once, and he told us he even makes the wasabi from scratch. the wasabi alone deserves an award, so flavorful, not the harsh store-bought kind. the owner is almost always there, making the sushi himself and running things with such a friendly vibe. he truly deserves recognition. this is literally the only sushi my stomach can tolerate, so that says a lot.

and it’s not just the sushi. their entrées are unforgettable too. my husband swears by the chicken katsu: crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and the portion/price is super fair.

“We were in the area and happened to stop by here completely by chance. The place is okay. Unlike other spots where you already have “pre-assembled” ingredients for a poke bowl and just choose which one you want (so-called signature bowls), here you have to build it yourself. The poke was fine. The ingredients are fresh, and since I picked what I like, of course I enjoyed it. The place feels cozy and interesting, with lots of plants inside. My only complaint is that the low white tables are very close together, so you literally can’t move. They need to be spaced out a bit.“

This was our first time eating out with our baby (also our first) and she made us feel right at home. Grabbed a high chair before we could ask!

The menu has several delicious options. We chose some sushi rolls, a tonkatsu dinner, and with a tempura appetizer. Everything was delicious…everything. The shrimp was cooked to perfection in the tempura, the sushi was excellent, and the tonkatsu entree reminded me of traveling through Japan. The whole experience reminded me of Japan. I felt like I had shifted locations for an hour as we sat in their cozy dining room brimming with Japanese decor.

“My girlfriend and I recently visited. The atmosphere was amazing and the food was really good, it reminded me of visiting my family in japan, who I have been missing a lot recently. I did find the 20% service charge a bit surprising. I did not see any signage for it or any notice on the menu. I was unsure if it was meant to take place of a tip. I also found it a bit odd that the wait staff would speak to me in Japanese, however, around my girlfriend (who was also using japanese and ordering from the japanese menu), they would speak in English only.“

Everything cooked nicely on the grill, and the mushrooms, pineapple, and shrimp were great additions to balance the meal. “I am not local, this is a regular go-to place for a friend, so when I visit with her, she wants to bring me. I had a Chinese Eggplant with chicken dish, flavorful and spicy. Also had some nigiri sushi, all very good. The Black Tobiko was plentiful and fresh. The Tamago and Inari, which are types of sushi that are deceptively simple seeming but really show a chef's knowledge and artistry, were excellent. I'm sure I will go again.“

Octopus and salmon Sashimi were the dessert orders from our kids 😂 We will definetly be returning, and highly recommend.
