“I find some of the low reviews here baffling. I think some people may be confusing this restaurant with other Chinese restaurants due to its rather non descript name. Make no mistake, the food here is excellent and punches way above its price point.Coming in the first time I was pessimistic. It seemed your standard pre prepared food menu ready to dish out quickly to the lunch crowd panda express style. I quickly became a huge fan after eating large well prepared portions I would expect from a normal sit down restaurant. Yes it's your standard generic fare but made so much better.Great food, great price. Appreciate these places, the owners care about making something good.“

“The four of us had a great time at this local gem. We had curry with rice, drunken noodles, and two orders of “chef’s gone crazy”—the chef cooked whatever he wanted for us and they were both pleasant surprises! Everything was delicious, and I have to say that their 3/5 spice level is a pretty solid 3/5. You could definitely taste the spiciness, but it wasn’t the main star of the show. If you like your food spicy, I’d say even go higher.“

“The food here is amazing especially regarding how many gluten free dishes they have. They have the largest gluten free dessert menu I’ve ever seen! So many delicious options that I just keep coming back. They also have a modern, but warm atmosphere that is delightful. This place is clearly a hidden gem and a must try!“

“I had this restaurant in my list to try for a very long time and was finally able to try with some friends. This restaurant is tucked in the food court of Park To Shop (formerly Assi plaza). I ordered the basil chicken with rice and it's delicious-definetly in my top places to have this dish! The ground chicken was flavorful and I got the spice level in mild (next time I will try it more spicy). I do wish the portion size was larger but enough to keep you content. The price is fair for the dish! The food came quickly and the staff gives you a device that alerts you to pick up your food. Overall the environment needs a little more maintenance and up keep. The staff was okay-there were a few instances where she was rude when we were ordering our food and asking questions. Overall, I will definitely come again when in the area and order take out!“

Walked in without a resy on a busy Friday night and was really impressed with the service. We were seated right away with a group of 3 adults and a baby. All of the servers were incredibly friendly, and even though the restaurant was packed, they were attentive, efficient, and friendly the whole time.

The grilled beef salad was a bit of a letdown—the portion of beef was pretty small, and it came out dry without that flavorful char you usually expect. The pad thai leaned sweeter than what I’m used to, but the noodles themselves had a great texture.

The standout was definitely the spicy fried rice—really well-balanced flavor and perfect texture. We also asked for chili sauce and were given two different kinds, both of which were amazing and added a lot to the meal.

“We had a great experience at Penny’s Oak Park. I ordered their version of pho with beef, and it was really good. For my daughter, I got the fried rice and egg noodles from the kids menu, and those were okay. What really stood out was the service. Our waitress was super friendly, attentive, and especially good with my daughter, which made the experience even better. “My mom used to eat here when she was pregnant with me. Now, I am 20 years old and even 20 years later, it bought her back to her old days. They maintained an insane amount of quality. Their mixed Thai fried rice had everything the perfect level of crisp and softness. The crab rangoons were so delicious we were close to ordering another plate.“

My fiancé ordered the shrimp in a blanket and they were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. I had the ramen both times and it was absolutely delicious. My fiancé tried the pad thai with shrimp on one visit and the basil shrimp fried rice on another, and both dishes were full of flavor and so satisfying. “My family and I traveled to Chicago twice this year and dined at the Asian Cuisine Express both times. The owner, cooks and wait staff were all extremely friendly and made each of our visits a wonderful experience. We ordered Chinese and Japanese food and we also sampled some of their new delicious tacos... everything we tried was absolutely fantastic. We live 300 miles away so we ordered a lot of takeout to bring home with us to share with our friends who didn't get to make the trips. Asian Cuisine express will be a regular stop now for us every time we go to Chicago... we highly recommend everyone tries this restaurant and we can't wait until we visit there again. “The first time I ever visited Ruk, the owner was incredibly nice and offered many recommendations on things to do, sights to see, & places to go as I’m not local to the area. We chatted for a while and I enjoyed the cashew pad Thai I ordered with peanut sauce. Going back year after year, Ruk is a staple for dinner the night I arrive in the city. Always nice to catch up and relax there.“

“I'll admit I was a little hesitant from the mixed reviews but this place is SO good!!! Crab Rangoons are really nice and crispy with lots of filling (really good amount of crab in them too). The Pineapple Fried Rice was absolutely perfect. I also got a side of Peanut Sauce and it was sooo good and a great size for the price. Good portions, great flavor, and very filling. I ordered through DoorDash and the restaurant had the food ready for pickup quickly and it was hot and fresh. All in all I'd say it was a perfect 10 and I will absolutely be ordering from here again! 😊“
