“I just moved from Chicago (with some of the best Mexican food on the planet) and I was pleasantly surprised to find this place. It's not especially authentic, but it's really fresh with huge portions for the price. The burritos are completely customizable and more affordable than Chipotle. I've ordered online two days in a row because of the quality and value for what you're getting.

Both the grilled chicken burrito and the carnitas burrito were delicious and made to my specifications from the website menu, and the to-go order of chips and salsa is ENORMOUS for only 5 bucks - you can't even get chips and salsa at the grocery store for the same amount. There's apparently an entire other American Grill concept that I look forward to checking out as well.“

“Surprisingly for a hidden taco joint in a gas station, it’s great. I’ve had the tacos, burritos, and torta. The el pastor burrito is delicious! Their burrito tortilla is not like those thin stretchy flour tortillas, it’s great for burritos. The steak, lengua, and el pastor tacos are good too! The carnita taco is okay, not the best but it’s good. The torta is one of my go to’s. It can be a bit pricy but I think it’s worth it if you have the money to spend lol.“

“This place has amazing tacos de carnitas !!!! The meat was so tender and juicy. No fat on the tacos I had. It’s a 20 min drive from my house in Gary but man it’s worth the drive. I highly recommend. I had 2 tacos de carnitas 1 asada 1 apastor and 1 large agua de Jamaica. Total was $18“

“This place was so good! My boyfriend, baby, and I came here to dine in yesterday and the food was phenomenal. We were looking for queso barria tacos on google and they showed up. The server was awesome. They didn’t have a kids menu but I asked if they can do rice and eggs for the baby and they did just that he loved his meal as well! “We ended up at this place by chance with 6 of us, ranging from teens to a grandma. All of us loved it. The tacos were really delicious. Grandma felt that the guacamole was too salty so the owner came out and apologized, made her a fresh batch to her liking AND removed it from the bill. Both food and service were top notch. The food—wonderful. I work nearby and it’s enthralling this place is within walking distance to pick up one their savory hotdogs or fist-full burgers.

It’s clean.

It’s efficient.

It’s delicious.

Most notably the burgers are my personal favorite because of the smoke flavor I’m very bite—10/10–would recommend.

And the customer service is kind and friendly. They offer any deals if you’d want any and they make nothing a hassle. It’s all straightforward and it makes sense.

“Bit of a wait which is ok since I am a patient person. Tried the steak tacos, actually very flavorful but fell apart when trying to eat it. Not the best value as I paid 12$ for 2 tacos. Portions are a bit small on the taco but less calories that way. I would give this place a 7/10 has lots of room to improve.“
