“As soon as you walk in the door you realize that it’s not a bar - it’s a comfortable shoe, a true neighborhood joint that is congenial and friendly. Love the signs such as Hamns Beer $ 3 every day and Chicago sports photos on the walls; excellent tavern style pizza ! Love the history behind the building It’s a classic that reminds of the bars in my hood on the Southside of Chicago“

“It was cool. Met some friends on St. Paddy's Day for a happy hour drink. My beer was $6, and her ranch water was $9 (not sure what the happy hour special was), but it was a one and done with no issues. It's super dark inside even on a bright day, so if you are a day drinker, this might be your vibe. Not so much for me.“

“Delilah's is a haven for whiskey lovers! One of the coolest bars not only in Chicago but the world. Deepest whiskey bar I have ever seen. There are multiple bottles five and six releases deep in some cases and you can taste side by side. The owner and bartenders are so knowledgeable in each bottle selection they are talking about. Generous pours and reasonable prices. AND they make proper cocktails and drinks. Highly recommend.“

“A couple blocks from Wrigley Field, Guthries is always a fun time! Gather a group, grab a table and a few games from the wall, and order a pizza to be delivered! Great for pre and post Cubs games or just for a typical Chicago neighborhoody night out. Typical dive bar drinks and beer on tap. It can get crowded, especially game or concert nights.“

“Liar’s Club has some of my favorite bands on the regular, so I find myself there a lot. My band has played there too, and it’s a great experience - the room sounds good, with a solid PA system. Gary and the rest of the staff are awesome - the polar opposite of the snooty, hipper-than-thou attitude you get at some rock & roll joints. Drink prices are cheap, and parking is always pretty easy. The clientele is consistently asshole-free. Can’t think of anything bad to say about Liar’s.“

“This is a cute, tiny little bar tucked into the lobby of an apartment building. The bar itself has a shockingly classic trendy dive bar atmosphere. Drinks are a little pricy, but the cocktails are fantastic, unique, and quite strong. There are few seats in the bar itself, but the lobby of the building has couches where it seems you can bring your drinks out and lounge. The building is dog friendly, so the bar seems to be as well. I brought my dog. The lobby was a bit brighter and less sexy than the bar, but still a nice place to hang out. They were playing a football game on a projector in the lobby but without sound so it didn’t disrupt the vibe. The bartender was really friendly and apparently he came up with one of the really good cocktails. The bathrooms in the lobby are gendered, but they share a sink area. I didn’t see any single-user or nongendered bathrooms.“

“We went on a Saturday night around 930pm. Not many people in there yet but the crowd that was there was diverse. Different ages and walks of life. Bar tender was friendly enough and took care of business. Poured a stiff drink for a fair price. It is a legit authentic "dive bar" for starters. The real deal. No frills. Not some wanna be staged pretend dive bar with over priced drinks and pretention. It is old, dark and dirty. We wanted to love this place. We loved everything about it except for one thing...And it is a deal breaker for us. Um. The smell. It smells horrible!!! Like an old stale ashtray with a half put out cigarette still going in it and up in your face. It was really really bad. I don't know if someone was actually smoking in there while we were there, but there is definitely still smoking happening inside that place. It burned my eyes and my nostrils. Gave me a headache. Unfortunately, we were one and done (and had a pretty good buzz from our one drink I must say). But sorry, we can't do the cigarette smoke.“

“This place has a very dedicated, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. The signature cocktails are designed beautifully. I love watching childhood favorites (the bartender played Are you Afraid of the Dark) on tube TVs while sipping my favorite adult beverages.“
“Amazing establishment. Love the decor and it feels so cozy. Nice neighborhood spot to enjoy a glass of wine. Owner is super knowledgeable and friendly. He helped me pick out a perfect bottle to share with my friend who isn’t always easy to please.“

“This is a review for Nightshade. To get there, you go to the back of Moonflower then through the unmarked black door to the right and downstairs. There are two rooms - one for music/ dancing and the other with small tables for drinks. The night I went the music room wasn’t open (guess you have to know when it’s club night). A bit bare bones in terms of furniture/ atmosphere. But, the drinks were EXCELLENT. Not a huge selection but the table I was with ordered about four different drinks from the specialty menu and they were all better than I was expecting.
Though the downstairs is designed for drinking I saw people eating from the menu upstairs so apparently you can do that.“

“We rolled in as some sleeveless thirsty travelers late night on a Thursday. We were bathed in nonchalant hospitality. The quality of a bar can stand on the legs of a Strong menu but it’s only excellent when you have exceptional staff. The Scofflaw has the sauce“

“The interactive coin op playground of the Chciago arcade / bar scene. Priced for a cash night out- cc welcome and there is an atm. Street parking is easy but ya know how that is- taking CTA or Rideshare to Logan Square is simple. Order bites and shareable from Fry Like An Eagle next door and they deliver! Say hey to Dr. Z and be kind to the staff they are great humans there to make sure you have fun!“

“Stopped by here for a quick drink while waiting for our table at the overpriced fancy restaurant down the street. Drinks here were on point, great service, great vibe. The fancy place down the street ended up sucking, we should have just stayed here and had tamales and beer.“

“I walked here from the place I was staying for the weekend ! Although I didn’t order food, I did order drinks and they were so good! The bartender Andrew was very nice and pleasant! The service was good! It was a bit rowdy crowd there bc of the basketball game but overall a good time and definitely would be back! Also, order the summer smash! So so good if you like fruity drinks!“

“The penultimate neighborhood bar with plenty of characters, shenanigans, and fun! It's our "Just One More" place. Bikers, Rock Stars, and Divas will feel right at home. Live music most weekends, outdoors in the summer in a large parking lot. Everybody who knows, goes there. John & Sparklyn are good people!“

“We went to Wang's on a Saturday night after dining nearby and it was a great surprise. We didn't have Wang's on the list of must visit bars in town, but it sure is now! The bar has a very nice, dark ambiance and the service was excellent. The best part of the experience were the drinks. The Chiang Mai Dragon was by far my favorite, but I also recommend the Ginseng Margarita. I'll definitely be back to Wang's!“

“If you've ever wanted to feel like you're in a lighthouse tavern, this is the place for you. Vibes are immaculate, but the house music is a pretty different energy from the candle lit tables. Navy Old Fashioned is great, and they have some unique beers there as well.“

“Olive Black is a great casual neighborhood cocktail lounge. Not pretentious but serves up a menu featuring six (+?) pages of martinis and speciality cocktails, alongside a good local beer selection. They also have tvs (for sports games), a jukebox, board games and food, but the best part is the staff! The owners are super friendly and accommodating.“
