“I have gone to Andros Taverna for many years now where I am never disappointed and always impressed with the service, the quality of food and ingredients, the atmosphere and the passion in general. Chef Doug Psaltis is a true expert and artist performing at the highest levels. The gyros are the best, best gyros in Chicago by far, the seafood world class, the homemade bread and pita are incredible. The foods and meats are cooked over wood fire, wood fire grilled. We had our daughters baptism catered from here which was excellent assortment of Greek food - this is a Greek restaurant you will go to for many years to come.“

“Had lunch there today and I have to say this is the first time I was disappointed with the service. The food was excellent but that's it. Asked for 2nd drink and never got it. Water was never refilled until we were through eating. When first ordering our wine we had problems. I will continue to eat here and hopefully this is a one time occurrence.“

For apps we had the Greek salad which was nothing unique, Saganaki for which I would say the same, and octopus which was superb but more expensive than my entree. My entree was the baked chicken which was just average. The room was full and loud.
Though I enjoyed the experience of dining with good friends, there are other Greek restaurants in the vicinity with tastier food for less money. I will likely not return soon.“

“My fiancé and I have been a gyro war. I’m a Skokie Dengeos girl and he’s a diehard Squabs fan. While it’s hard to compete with childhood memories after trying Squabs I totally get it. The gyro was perfectly cooked, the tzatziki was beautiful, the fries were delicious. The absolute standout was the customer service. I was having such a bad day. I confused the gyro plate with the gyro dinner and they took such good care of me. Their full slab of Baby Back Ribs has been $25 for ages, and it's as good as it's always been, fall off the bone tender right balance of sweet and salty, a little fat and their delicious glaze.

Portions are good, food is out in like 3-8 minutes, love coming here.“

The gyro was completely full of meat and the meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. This gyro was a real nuke it was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The pita was soft and fresh, and the tzatziki sauce was creamy and tangy, complementing the gyro perfectly. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner who is known as Chef Zuzu, he told me they recently opened up and seems like a great, honest, and hardworking business owner. “New to Chicago and on the hunt for good middle eastern food in my area. I had a bogo deal through Uber/Postmates and decided to try out the Chicken Shawarma platter for pickup/takeout. I received a generous portion of rice, chicken, a small salad, hummus, and one pita per plate.

Overall, this is a good option close to me that seems nice for takeout over dine-in. Service here was excellent and the environment was clean. The food wasn’t my favorite - mostly paying for rice, chicken was good but dry, seasoning was very light - but the portions were generous. I personally wouldn’t dine here again unless I had a good deal for the price point and quality.“
