“First time random choice visiting the area from Chicago. Obviously very popular (the best sign) with the locals and the food (and price) was great! So was service from busser to server to manager who checked in with us. Perfect casual spot!“
“It did not disappoint I had high expectations because of all the good reviews. Excellent pizza and bar service. I had the pleasure of running into one of the cooks. Big guy with brown hair. I did not catch his name but he seemed like a great guy and whipped up some delicious food faster than I could drink a single beer. He really made me feel like I was in a comfortable family style environment where I could put a smiling face to the delicious food. My girlfriend put in a complicated custom order and he did not flinch or get a single thing wrong. If that guy is not a partner in the restaurant and then he needs to be paid well because it seemed as though his heart was in it, so the love comes out in the food.Dietary restrictions: My girlfriend is very picky and wanted her toppings put on in a very particular order. Most places usually botch her orders but this guy nailed it and was a gentlemanly good sport about it even though she is a tough customer.“
“I love playing trivia at Hot Pockets on Mondays. Gabby is the best server, she always is checking in and making sure everything is okay! My cat (pencil) was stuck in a tree and she invented a flying device to grab him. In addition to this, she gave 50 orphans wheels of cheese out of the goodness of her heart!“
“This place seemed as if it was an upscale sports bar. Plenty on tvs to view games, but above that was the food! I was very surprised at how everything tasted, making me savor that last bite. Cocktails ? were pleasant and just the overall presentation. If you are in the area, definitely make a stop and try this place. The fried alligator was a hit!!“
“We had excellent meals and drinks, and our server, Katie, was very helpful, attentive, and fun! The staff switched the TV nearest us to the NCAA women's basketball semifinal game when I asked upon arrival, and Katie later put it on the biggest screen for us without a request. Great place, and I'll dine there next time I'm in town.Dietary restrictions: They have a gluten-free menu with some really nice options.“
“This is my favorite place to stop when I’m in the Lake Forest area. The food and drinks are great, I’ve never waited for a table, and the service is outstanding. Grace T is the warmest welcome every time I come in. I specifically ask for her every single time because she makes it such a fun experience. She’s the best of the best! Great vibes on a Thursday evening, I’ll be back ASAP!“
“Food has been fantastic. 3rd time there for after work eating, relaxing. Service is great. Tasty foods! Everyone is so nice. Glad we we're told of this gem ! Molly (I call her super Molly..lol) is a GEM !! Great attitude, smile, friendly, attentive. She is fabulous to say the least. Not many places have such nice employees as Anastasia's does. Molly goes beyond expectations ! I'm sure others do also but Molly takes the cake for us. Great going Anastasia's !! Oh...get your shirts too folks. (Brian).“
“Austin’s blew me away. An amazing jumbo shrimp cheesy pasta dish. I opted for the added protein (shrimp); yes!!! Austin’s is ‘famous’ for their steaks. Well, everything is great! And the shows, well, they’re so much fun too ?Five stars no doubt ? ? ? ? ?“
“Honestly was a little nervous when I saw how little people there was and how extensive their menu was. We only got the golden shrimp (appetizer) and sushi items. So nothing from the grill side. But everything we got tasted really really good. Would like to go back when the terrace is open because I feel like the ambiance would be a little better out there“
“This place has never missed the mark with service in my experience, and I frequent at least once a month. The drinks are always cold, fresh, and reasonablypriced. The food is delicious and fresh as well... my favorites are the smoked wings, cheese curds, beer nuggets, and chicken pesto sandwich. The staff is uber friendly and it felt great seeing many of them take the time to greet me (while I was on crutches) after a couple months hiatus (since I was injured). The Live Entertainment on weekends is always a huge plus as well! SIX SPEED TRANNY rocked the house yesterday“
“Pizza was horrible! Undercooked top with a burnt prepackaged bottom. Apps were cold and just not good( dried out and just low end) Drinks were top notch and our server was incredible! Love going here but the kitchen lacks the luster the bar has. It's unfortunate as a few years ago it was consistently good but now not much.“
“I'm definitely a fan of this place. There's cornhole (or as I like to call it), plenty of pool tables, and delicious food! The only downside is that you have to be 21 to enter. However, the music here really sets the mood. Renting a table and pool for 2 hours cost us around $30, but it's still worth it for a fun time with friends or for a date.“
“An absolute gem of a local neighborhood bar and bowling alley. Eight lanes of bowling with some of the original Brunswick automatic pinsetters, top ball return, and manual scoring (there are free apps available for scoring if you so desire). $6 per game and $2 for shoes (as of this posting February 2024), an absolute bargain. They have a full bar with 12 tap beers including a good selection of local craft brews (plus myriad bottles selections), and over 100 types of liquor, including flavored vodkas, whiskeys, rum, tequila, and everyone's favorite Malört. Wine is limited to individual serve bottles. The staff and owner are absolute legends, quick with their service and phenomenal personalities. They do not serve food aside from a few bags of chips, however, they do encourage ordering in. Joe's Pizza just down the street makes some of the best thin crust tavern cut pizza you'll ever enjoy. A pool table and TouchTunes jukebox are available as well. Outdoor seating is a great way to relax on those warm spring and summer days.“
“I mean I know I review 5 stars almost every time, but that’s because I give props where props are due. I had the double smash burger and it was Aaaaaaamazing! Cooked to perfection. Thank you for being our hidden gem. Every time we choose the Side Lot… we go home happy.“
“This place is awesome because of Mone and Javi. They are the most welcoming, amazing, and wholehearted people ever. We have been coming to this place just because they make it so amazing and enjoyable for everyone. They’re such an asset to this place and Munich wouldnt be the same without “
“It's a sports bar with good and we are not into bars or sports...so the atmosphere isn't our preferred space- but the food (especially chicken limone) is fantastic. We prefer the onion rings over the toasted ravioli. Not because the latter is bad, we just prefer the rings. Since we're not bar folks and don't drink alcohol, sometimes it feels like service pays too little attention, but not always. That depends on the night and the server's.“
“Great service the moment we stepped in.They were so kind and welcoming. The brisket was so tender and juicy. The sauce i used ( they have 5-6 house made sauces) the sweet and spicy sauce, which paired perfectly. Tiny tiny kick with the nice tangy sweetness.I also tried their ribs, which were just melting in the mouth.“
“I've had the privilege of stopping by the Squaw Bar on several occasions and have enjoyed every visit. What is refreshing about this establishment is that it's cozy and not over refined like other establishments. This means that one can get to know just who they are enjoying the company of. The Squaw Bar even has the latest technology that blends in well with a good old fashion campfire by the sands. I'm speaking of .SVG TV... no not your regular run of the mill squabbles from all over the globe but a personalized cast of stars that light up the evening sky. Take for example the ale tale of Helen Liz Hunt. It's an October ghost story told at this time in the light of the Hunters Moon. The legend says that Helen walks the .3 mile route from Hunt Ave on a westwards journey. She crosses Helendale Road and arrives at the Squaw Bar in search of dark rye and molasses bread ðŸž. Helen pays for her meal in Indian Rupee legal tender and enjoys the Raisins And Honey as the Sultan as played by myself offers her a 🔠hamburger bear hug.“
“I am an event photographer and am at WhirlyBall often. The venue has a lot to offer including dance area, games, cars and laser tag. The staff are great and organized. Venue has easy parking and offers a variety of food items. Check it out.“
“So, we usually head here after playing volleyball. It has really become a place where most of the locals go. It is a very interesting atmosphere cause most visitors know each other and bartenders know customers by name. You get a homely vibe when you enter. Great beer selection. The owner goes out of his way to introduce new beers from local or distant breweries. This place is one of the few which carries Zombie Dust from Three Floyds. Again, they have a great selection of beers. There is also gaming there. The food comes from Rosati's which is next door. Can't go wrong with having some wings, fries and pizza while enjoying drinks with friends. The bartenders make you feel welcomed which is a good reason to return often.“
“A Storied place, legendary for its erstwhile pool leagues, with patron owners, a static stock of barristas and "Cheers" regulars, a kitchenette for pizza and wings, fairly lucky slots, live bands, bingo nights, and best of all, "Kevo" the maestro who runs Karaoke, sings withal, and DJs like a pro.“
“This is a busy place and a great place to watch sporting events. TVs all around and huge one on the east wall for the main dining room. They also have an outdoor seating area and a large bar (always packed). The pizza, nachos and beer nuggets are solid but I really enjoy the chopped salad and coleslaw. I don't usually like coleslaw but I love it here!“
“My family and I went here Friday night for dinner. The service was fantastic. It is extremely difficult to find a server/bartender who is great with kids. We had Meg as our server/bartender tonight and she was amazing! She clearly loves what she is doing. Our kids are begging to go back! While juggling multiple other tables she never failed to make sure our drinks were full and we were happy. She also recommended the big pretzel which was huge and delicious. The food did not disappoint. Pucks is a great family friendly sports bar for families who love hockey and want friendly, fast, and competent service.“
“It's easy to drive past this place. I wouldn't pass it up, though. Good deals every day of the week allow for great meals. For not so much money. Save your money for your drinks and cheers to the good service. Felt welcomed and well taken care of.“
