Offering 1/2 bottles of wine is not widely offered in the US but is much appreciated. Biggest surprise - pumpkin chocolate biscotti served warm - had never been served warm biscotti and it was the best! Great night - excited to return.“

“We walked in off the street, didn't expect much but we were absolutely blown away by the environment, the service and the layout of the establishment. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich with au jus and the breaded chicken tenders blew our mind. Our bartender was Ashley, she gave us impeccable service engaging and even when she wasn't there, every other bartender was very engaging and attentive. I don't know why this place is not packed at all times. I've reviewed hundreds of places around the world and this is one of my favorites.“

“The staff have been really rude to me ever since I pointed out that my tab was wrong and I was overcharged. I wasn't upset about the double charges, I just wanted them corrected. I've barely been waited on since then it seems. I tried to step in a help once when a patron had been over served. It wasn't welcomed at all. I was given the same look as I get when I walk up to the bar to get a drink. Too bad, it's really close to home to me. I haven't been in over a year and have no plans on returning.“

“We visited The Graceful Ordinary in downtown St. Charles, IL, on a warm late September day. We had a wonderful experience at Graceful Ordinary, one that's hard to match outside of Chicago. From its comfortable yet elegant design to the unique menu, every detail was carefully considered. The food was delicious and thoughtfully presented, and the service was excellent. We were fortunate to visit on a very warm day towards the end of September. We sat on the fully screened-in veranda and enjoyed the scenery in comfort. “Stopped in with a friend after a metra ride. Hung out at this establishment while we waited for my phone to charge up and for Uber to come. Typical mixed bar of locals and commuters. Sports oriented. Did not check out the menu. We just ordered a beverage. Wait staff was kind, cheerful, and attentive. They have a nice patio as well. A great place to relax as you wait for a train or a great place to unwind after a day downtown and long train ride.“

“We went here for a Friday night fish fry. We did carry out but they are open to the public. Fried cod, baked potato and coleslaw. Myhusband liked the fish alot but said it needed a little lemon or something to spice it up. I had fried shrimp which were very large with a baked potato and coleslaw. The coleslaw was not that great, but we enjoyed the rest of the meal alot. I would recommend this place for a good inexpensive fish fry.“

“Poor service and horrible beer. I ordered a brew dog hazy IPA and the waitress brought me some kind of red ale which is clearly not a hazy IPA. See attachment for what the beer should look like and what they brought me. Waitress does nothing to remediate the situation. Never seen such a poorly run business. Staff have bad attitudes and beer was definitely not right. Maybe it was spoiled or they substituted a cheaper product. Do not go here.“

“We held my father’s Celebration of Life at Fireside Grille, and I can’t say enough good things about our experience. When the manager, Zach, learned the reason for our gathering, he immediately went out of his way to make it possible even though the private room were already reserved. The entire team was wonderful to work with, the food was absolutely amazing, and everyone kept commenting on how delicious everything was. Our server, Lupe, was superb as always as well as the rest of the staff. Everyone was attentive, kind, and professional. I highly recommend Fireside Grille for any celebration or special occasion. I recommend this place 100%, the drinks are good, the bartenders are friendly, and the Viper Burger was our favorite. Alan is an awesome guy with a great sense of humor. The atmosphere is chill, welcoming and you'll have a great time. When I say to stop by The Bunker, I mean it lol 😃. Whenever we are in town again, we are definitely going to try stopping by. 😌✨“

“This was our third time here. So, yes, we have enjoyed food and ambience. The ambience was much quieter on previous occasions. Not to say we don't enjoy a lively atmosphere of New Year's Eve. Previous times I had the lamb chops which were delicious and my husband raves about their filet mignon. My disappointment this time was the bartenders lack of knowledge and preparedness to make a classic champagne cocktail. They gave me an Aperol Spritz. Huh?! I gave waiter the recipe. He said the bar doesn't have sugar cubes. Huh?! So, I just had Prosecco rose, which was enjoyable. In regards to food, my husband had his filet again and I had the halibut, which was ok. We both had French onion soup and a wedge salad, which were delicious! Our server, Miguel, was accommodating and sociable, but he appeared hectic. We will return.“

“Not only have I loved Hawthornes from when I was a kid growing up in West Chicago! It was the PERFECT place to have my wedding. Lou, Heidi and Kelly did fantastic and helped make my dream come alive! Every question I had they answered and were able to accommodate so much! Heidi was in CONSTANT communication with me and was able to give advice and help me through the whole process. Her suggestions were so helpful and she helped during the ceremony and reception. I could not have done it without them. This place treats you like family and has amazing service! When my husband and I went to pick up our things the next morning we were planning on taking 2 trips and Lou let us borrow his truck that is how amazing and friendly they are! WE LOVE YOU HAWTHORNES! Thanks for making our wedding the best day of our lives(: not to mention EVERY guest couldn’t stop talking about how fun the venue was and there was something for everyone to do, wiffleball, volleyball, giant beer pong, bags, dancing, and more! Everyone was able to have fun the whole time!“

“This was my second ever visit in three weeks, both because of events at Arcada. My first visit, which was on a Saturday, was great! My friend and I were promptly waited on, the server was informative and attentive and our food came out quickly. My second visit was a little less impressive. The restaurant was quite full and understaffed. We were given water right away, but waited quite awhile until our server returned to get our drink order. Then again to get our food order. Thankfully the food came out quickly, as we were already running late for the start of the show. As the first visit, there are absolutely no complaints about our entrees. The food was very good!! Looking forward to another show and visit to the restaurant to try something new yet again.“
