“Had lunch there today and I have to say this is the first time I was disappointed with the service. The food was excellent but that's it. Asked for 2nd drink and never got it. Water was never refilled until we were through eating. When first ordering our wine we had problems. I will continue to eat here and hopefully this is a one time occurrence.“

“My husband and I came in tonight for 4 flights for our family. The place smelled amazing, the staff was welcoming and friendly. We waited a little bit for our food, but it was certainly worth the wait!!! My whole family loved it, even my pickiest!!! It was the best food, for a very decent price, that we have had in a long time!“

“We stopped in for lunch and enjoyed our visit, had our usual Greek favorites, tzatziki, spanakopita, calamari and small Greek salad. All dishes were very good with homemade vibe. We will definitely be back to try the main dishes for dinner. Nice ambience and great service.“

“Very good for quick quality service. The portions are extremely abundant, you definitely won’t be hungry. I like how they specify on their menu which type of oil that is used. The gyros meat tends to be a bit too salty, but this is probably how it just is.“

“Had an amazing meal at Kouklas! Was referred by a friend, and so glad we tried it. Meal comes one plate at a time (think full size tapas) and every dish was delicious. Ordered the Eggplant, Dolmades, Octopus, Branzino, and Soulvaki - it was all wonderfully prepared. Dessert was great too. Service was very attentive. Can’t wait to come back and try other dishes! Great restaurant!“

“Update: Looking back 8 years later, we still remember what a fantastic experience we had at Skippers Restaurant. The food was excellent, the portions were generous, and the overall atmosphere made it a memorable stop during our travels.
The service stood out just as much as the food. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. It had that classic local restaurant feel where you could tell people truly enjoyed coming there.
What really stayed with us over the years was the quality and consistency of the experience. Great food, good service, and a relaxed atmosphere are what make restaurants memorable, and Skippers definitely delivered all three.
As Mike & Amy’s Small Town Adventures, we have explored restaurants all across Illinois and beyond, and this is still one of the places we remember positively years later. Easy 5 stars from us.

“Stingy about giving condiments. Asked for small sauce for side of gyro meat and register guy took it out of the bag after chef put it in bag because register guy said it I didn’t pay for it and it was extra. I asked how much it was he said 77 cents. Shocked at how Cheap Cheap Cheap this place was. He couldn’t just leave the sauce in the bag. Very very POOR CUSTOMER SERVE!!! Otherwise food is good.“

“Absolutely amazing! The 1/2 Greek Chicken at The Gyros Factory is one of the best meals I’ve had in Des Plaines. Perfectly seasoned, cooked on the bone, and unbelievably tender. The rice pilaf and Greek potatoes complete the plate beautifully. A must-try!“
“No better way to spend a summer afternoon than with a spritz and a friend in the Social18 patio. The Chicago hot dog or gourmet, and their waffle fries with cheese sauce do the stomach justice. Mark also gave great service with a smile and a side of humor.“

“1st time visiting this establishment. Very friendly and nostalgic atmosphere. Had their 1/3 burger and onion rings. It was fantastic!! Best burger I've had in a long time. Actually meaty and fresh not one of those frozen smash burgers. Can't wait for my next visit. Hope to try something new, if I can convince myself to skip the burgers. And did I mention very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!!“

“This place is clean with ample sitting room. Food is always good. They know what they are doing. You order and then you get the pager before you get the food. The menu has a lot of options. Because it's a large space, you almost never have to wait for sitting.“

“OMG! I've been trying to find a a place with good gyros for a decent price. So far this place is best place in the area, but only because of what I'm able to afford. Used UberEats at a discounted rate. A gyro (sauce on the side) with, curly fries, a cup of cheese, and a medium drink for $20 with the tip included. So far the best value for my buck and it all tasted excellent. I recommend Brandy's to any gyro lover visiting the area.“
