“Only place that sells khao soi that I’ve found in the area, and it’s delicious.

Small little place where you can sit but afaik doesn’t have a public restroom (I may be wrong!) so just keep that in mind.

Take out or not, you’re going to be getting fantastic Thai food made with care. You may be waiting a bit when you eat in-restaurant, so consider take out if you don’t have time.“

“You can’t go wrong with a small, locally owned restaurant. My friend and I decided to give it a try, and I must say, it’s one of the best Thai places I’ve ever been to in Illinois.

The food is simply amazing! The quality and flavors are at the best I’ve ever experienced. The prices are also incredibly reasonable, making it a great value for money. It reminded me of the delicious Thai food I had when I visited Thailand in my younger days.

The service was good, although I did feel a bit rushed since there was only one waitress. However, the food was worth the wait, so it wasn’t a major issue.

The ambiance was great. The decor was warm and welcoming, and it reminded me of the restaurants I used to love back in the day. It was a refreshing change from the modern, sterile restaurants that are so common these days.

Overall, I highly recommend this hidden gem. It’s a must-try for anyone who loves Thai food.“

I ordered the Red Curry Chicken for takeout and it was outstanding. The curry had a rich, creamy coconut base with just the right kick of heat, and the chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. The vegetables were fresh and still had a nice crunch, and the portion size was generous enough for leftovers. Even after the drive home, the food stayed hot and flavorful. I’ll definitely be ordering this again! and most of it it’s Halal. Will def be back. Tysm!“

“The restaurant is cool and comfortable on a very hot and humid day. The restaurant looks good and smells good. Came to do laundry next door and found this by luck. I have lived on the other side of the world and I have been to Thailand multiple times. This food is excellent. We had teriyaki chicken and tom yum. The nice lady explained it was one of her first days while the owner is in Thailand on vacation. Hopefully they see this and know their restaurant is in good hands!“

“Lai Thai is our go-to spot! Our family has been going here for over a decade. This is the only restaurant in the area that has stayed consistent in quality, price, and service. They treat you with the hospitality of family. I personally love the yellow curry, pad thai, panang noodle, chicken satay, curry fried rice, and also the mango panna cotta! So good! We love Lai Thai!“

“Excellent Thai food. We had the Moo Ping as an appetizer. The pork was so tender and the sauce was delightfully sweet. We had the Drunken Noodles with chicken and Holy Chili with chicken. Both were delicious and the portions were just right. We dined in and there were sadly only a few tables for a Saturday night but it seemed like a lot of take out orders. The service was fast. We will definitely dine in or take out from here again.“

It was amazing! Not perfect, but cLose!

I had the Drunken NoodLes Spicy 10 with Tofu!

It was actually spicy. Needs just a little something idk. Maybe cardamom.

“I am not local, this is a regular go-to place for a friend, so when I visit with her, she wants to bring me. I had a Chinese Eggplant with chicken dish, flavorful and spicy. Also had some nigiri sushi, all very good. The Black Tobiko was plentiful and fresh. The Tamago and Inari, which are types of sushi that are deceptively simple seeming but really show a chef's knowledge and artistry, were excellent. I'm sure I will go again.“

One of the best Thai food places in the area with staff that is really friendly complete with a cozy dine in area with BYOB option for a fun night out with friends or family. I am a long time native of the area and have seen restaurants come and go and I have to say I am so pleased that Nan and her family's restaurant is a mainstay . It is important to support local business and I am proud to give a shout out to one of my favorite places to eat in the area. The green curry is one of my favorite. They also have a great selection of rolls as well. Great lunch menu options and a staff that remembers your regular order and greets you with a smile every time.“

Amazing Pad Se Ew, sauce is great, broccolis are not overcooked as they should be, allowing the extra crunch factor instead of a completely soft vegetable.
Wonderful chicken satay paired with peanut sauce and a dish of cucumbers, a good combination.
The Pad Thai was delicious, portion was plenty for me. Spiciness well suited my taste.

“Over 20 years ago I started eating at their original Lincoln Park location. Today, their delicious food keeps me coming back time after time. It helps that the restaurant is staffed by the nicest people in the world. When I call for pickup they know my order (lad nar with chicken and Japanese gyoza) and they have it ready in ten minutes. “I’ve been coming here for about 18 years, and this place has never let me down.

Everything on the menu is consistently amazing. The tom yum and tom kha soups are both incredible—packed with flavor and always hit the spot. The cucumber salad is super fresh, the pad see ew is done perfectly, and the lime chicken is one of my go-to favorites.

And you have to finish with the mango sticky rice—it’s so good.

Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything here. It’s one of those places where everything is just consistently great every single time. One of my longtime favorites.“
