“I got the chicken mole torta and a taco Al pastor. My wife got a torta Al pastor and a taco carne asada. Everything was so good - the carne asada had perfect crunchy bits, the teleras had a perfect consistency for sturdy but soft sandwiches that held up with the crema and other juices from the fillings. Very generous portions on the tacos, so much that we both had to take half a torta home as leftovers. And everyone behind the counter was super friendly. I hope they’re proud of their restaurant.“

“Taco Verde is hands down one of our favorite spots for amazing halal tacos! The quality and flavor are consistently outstanding. We absolutely love their Birria Tacos — perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with rich, authentic flavor.

Their Birria Pizza Tacos are a must-try as well. Such a creative twist, loaded with flavor and cooked to perfection. Every bite is satisfying.

Communication was top-notch, portions were huge, and the food was incredible. “Ever since our former far north side Mexican go-to restaurant had a fire and reopened without the same quality of food we used to love, my partner and I have been looking for a new delivery and eat-in joint. We love how awesome the universe of Mexican food is here in Chicago but a lot of the eateries on the far north side are just kind of meh. Nobody deserves to eat meh Mexican food in Chicago, ever. It took us a year and a half to finally find Taqueria El Charro and we’re completely blown away. I’ve lived in Chicago for 21 years and he’s lived in Chicago almost as long. I used to teach English in Pilsen. Once I had a chance to move back home to New York City and I sat in a Chicago Mexican restaurant at 18th and Ashland and cried because I didn’t want to leave Chicago Mexican food behind. So, this place has some of the best Mexican food I have ever eaten here in my adopted hometown. I don’t say that lightly. You don’t kid around with Mexican food in Chicago. I cannot emphasize how quietly awesome this place is.“

“Last week I was on my way to take my son for a haircut and decided to stop and eat here. It was my first time. Service was great and food delicious. I was not having a good day but tried my best to not show it. As I'm eating I saw a man come in. Eat by himself and then left. My surprise when I went to go pay. This man had paid for my food. Who ever it was Thank you so much if this is ever read. That was a beautiful gesture and completely made my day. I got my son his haircut and took him for some ice cream afterwards. I will definitely pay it forward“

“We drove all the way from downtown just to get tacos from Aztlan Taqueria and it was 100% worth it. The steak tacos are some of the best we’ve ever had. The meat was perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor. Both the flour and corn tortillas tasted incredibly fresh, like they were just made. The salsa was delicious and clearly homemade bright, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the tacos. And the guacamole? Absolutely perfect. No extra salt needed just fresh, balanced, and spot-on. On top of the amazing food, the staff is so nice and truly goes above and beyond. The service made the experience even better. Hands down, some of the best tacos around. We’ll gladly make the drive again! 🌮“

There is ample seating inside and an outdoor area with patio furniture. You can order on the kiosk inside or with one of the folks working.“

“Overview: this is an absolute gem no frills taco joint. Known for value tacos for the price-point. They're competing near Albany park were it's saturated with over 30 Mexican restaurants in one neighborhood. Taste: a benchmark for tacos is the taste of their go to salsa. This restaurant meets the benchmark of a good red and green salsa. This is a predecessor for a good taco. Service: This is the only knock on the restaurant. I get I ordered on a Tues/Thurs when they have a deal. Despite ordering 20 minutes in advance they still processed my order as if I walked into the store. In an on-demand society, this always aggravates me when you offer a place an order in advance service. I don't want to wait another 20 minutes for my order. 50 Minutes later my order was ready. Atmosphere: Is exactly how I want a hole in the wall place to feel. If it looks too nice, I know it's going to probably be pricey or taste is going to lack. I know they opened up a new spot in Albany park and Taqueria y Carnitas Don Valdez is going to have a run for their money if they think they can continue raising their prices. Overall, i still give this restaurant a 5/5 despite the lack of customer service strictly because the value beats out the overall experience.“
