I felt so lucky to find Bri and her team-- the food they make is magic and I swear to gods they trick me into eating more veggies all the time. And then the comfort food? The fried rice and the Mac n cheese and the jerk wings (even the vegan Mac n cheese, btw)? You don't even know. Last but not least- let me say that these folks are also so kind and thoughtful. Whether it's a heads up about something being out, bringing food to door when you aren't home, a cute note on the takeout bag, or offering a random extra juice one time when I picked up - they care about the food they are making and the community they are creating. “I had high hopes since this company was referred by a trusted caterer that I used many times, but my experience with Outside the Box was horrible. We hired this company for a repass immediately following the funeral. They finally showed an hour and an half late to the funeral home. Which means my grieving family didn't eat and waited for over 40mins after final viewing. I received no heads up and if we hadn't reached out to see what was going on, they never would have let me know that my order would not be arriving on time. I missed portions of the service worried about if we would receive our delivery for the repass. When we contacted the drivers to see why they hadn't arrived they were supposed to be 15mins away which turned into approx 40mins after the funeral services had ended. I asked to speak with the owner and was connected right away. She apologized for the inconvenience, said she would refund the delivery fee, and continued to ensure me this situation was not my fault. This response confused me on how my order not being delivered could be my fault in the first place. Also, I am still not sure exactly what the real issue was as I received conflicting stories from the owner and the delivery guys. The food was luke warm by the time it arrived,was set up, and ready to serve to the family. Some of my family did not even get to eat since the food had not arrived. The food was just ok. I will say that when the delivery guys showed up they were apologetic, set up right away, and were polite. 5 days after the funeral I still had not received a follow up phone call or communication to confirm my refund or just to express a sincere apology/thank you. I called today to follow up, speak with the owner and reiterate our experience. I was again told this was not my fault and she apologized again. When I asked next steps and time frame for refund, she said I would receive an email once she processed the refund. She was driving at that moment and couldn't give any specific information. Unfortunately, I do not recommend Outside The Box Catering and Events. I hope this helps even one family not go through the horrible experience.“

“We have used Rome's Joy Catering for two large events now (serving 50-100 people each time), and their team has been excellent to work with! Tiffany is incredibly helpful in talking through menu options, setup, and making the ordering process very easy through their online portal. Each time, the food has arrived on-time (or even early) - with a phone call to let me know they've arrived. I really appreciate that Rome's Joy can do anything from sandwiches to more formal cocktail food. The items come very nicely plated with pretty garnishes, so it all looks fresh and inviting to guests - and amazingly delicious!“

“We have been lucky to attend this hall on multiple occasions from a production company standpoint. The hall is not the best for sound reinforcement as you will need a separate rig pointed to where the main entrance is to ensure you will have even coverage for all patrons. However, it is a minor detail that with the right professional shouldn't be a problem. The catering was very good and the space looked very nice. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a nice event space.“

“Wow is all I can say. You provided amazing box lunches for JMD Angels Foundation annual board retreat. One of our board members, Errika Williams, sponsored our lunch and made an excellent choice! “It's a shame that there are so few of these delis left in the area; there used to be three or four along a couple of miles of Archer down here (including Bobak's), but I guess the demographics no longer supports them. It was a joy to find this place by accident.We go to this tiny place mainly for the beet borscht, bigos (to DIE for!), and pierogis. I smiled when I noticed they actually have wooden barrels of kapusta and pickled cukes wedged into a rear corner.They have all different kinds of fresh pierogi and, for such a small space, a pretty good sausage/meat selection. I know very little about East European sausage names, but it would probably be wise to call ahead if you are looking for a certain kind.“

The only thing that disappointing that they have no more restaurants to eat at and they only have catering and so I tried to place a order for myself and family I was asked what com. “We had our son's first birthday here and cannot say enough good things about Gilhooleys. The manager Jim was incredibly helpful and easy to work with. The staff the day of was amazing and friendly. The food (we did the brunch option) was so delicious. We got so many compliments about the food and the space from our guests. It was our first time hosting a party so we were nervous, but Gilhooleys made everything easy for us. We are so grateful for such a wonderful time!“

However, this new location is closer to my house and I would be a frequent customer if they would ever answer the phone. I called both numbers on this page.
