“Nando's used to be my go to fast food joint when I lived in Perth, but the US one was just as good! Maybe the sauce were a tad different, but all in all it was amazing ?. There was a lady who took care of us, she would walk up to me when I was going over to ask her for something. Very attentive! The manager was great as well. He let us sample some of the lemonade to make sure we got the one we wanted. For sure I would be back to this location and Nando's may just replace my usual. The ambience too was the bomb! I loved everything. Garlic bread tasted authentic and the cauliflower on the rainbow salad. Get out! So so very good. And you know Nando's chicken will always hit the right spot. “2nd time coming here. Food is phenomenal. Never had chicken with honey butter or pimento cheese with fries. When you put the butter on the chicken, the melted butter, the crispy texture, and the juices of the chicken just melts in your mouth. As far as the pimento cheese goes, the sauce has a bit of a tomato hint blending in with the cheese when you have it with the fries.“

“I went today…I did not get the name of the person who attended us. I believe he is the owner, he is very nice and welcoming. The chefs are kind with good vibes too. Overall Good vibes. The chicken is not dry, and the friendly fire fries are very well served and delicious. “This is a super cute hidden gem with a tasty selection of southern cooking. The ambiance was nice. It felt very cozy and I loved the artwork and set up of the restaurant overall. The staff was super friendly and attentive to customers The food was delicious and I only wished I'd ordered more. I went close to closing and as I got my food another table had cornbread come out and I was jealous. I'd definitely recommend the sweet potatoes and fried chicken. We all shared food and will probably do the same when coming back.“

“We ordered: Jibarto con Arroz - steak between fried garlicky plantains Papa's Pollo Food was all delicious. Both the rotisserie chicken and steak was well seasoned and tender. Jibarto sandwich was a great combo of fresh and savory flavors and textures. Rice texture and flavor is a tasty side. Employee was very enthusiastic and nice. Good service. “I tried the Fire & Grill yesterday for take out order. I ordered 6-piece wings and fries in both Grilled and fried. I can say they were equally very good. Nice size and done just right. Juicy and good flavor with plenty of tasty fries. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They informed me that the grilled wings only 4 were ready and I could wait a few minutes for the other two but offered to give me a leg and thigh in its place if I did not want to wait. I took them up on the offer and the grilled leg and thigh was also very good. I will be ordering from here again. The only thing I would say is that I did not see a bathroom available for those that want to dine in and wash your hands afterwards.“

“What a fun spot! This was a great addition to the Southport corridor for its quickness and simple menu. I love the decor and atmosphere, and the sandwiches sure are to die for! My only reason to deduct a star is the pricing - kind of insane for a quick stop shop. But I'm sure I'll be back to treat myself again soon!“

“Absolutely phenomenal south Indian food. We came in to dine in but had to get it to-go due to an emergency. The staff was super accommodating and the Veg Thali (sampler platter) was absolutely divine. My friends got the Mutton Thali and Chicken Thali and said it is some of the best food they've had in Chicago. Spice level is definitely on the hotter side of restaurants I've been to but that made for a great meal. Incredibly affordable too. At ~$15 per person and plenty of tasty leftovers that keep well, I'll definitely be making a point to return soon.“

“My family and I really enjoy the food at this place. We usually go through the drive thru on Montrose. Tonight I placed an order over the phone. When I got there I noticed they had a special for what I ordered at a less price. So I asked if I could be honored the special since I never knew of it and it’s not on the website. The girl tried to process it but she said she couldn’t do it. I came home to find they gave me an extra side of rice which I didn’t order. My total was $35 for two taco dinner which I found to be more than usual. It really annoyed me that I feel like not only did I overpay but the staff did not care to find out if they could honor me and on top of getting my order incorrectly.“

“This is the place for chicken!! Best fried chicken, texas toast, coleslaw, and fries this side of the Mississippi. I use this location for caterings almost weekly and they have never made a mistake, always have it ready on time or early, and make sure everything is done right. “First time trying this awesome location! So happy I decided to give it a try. Yari was so kind and gave me great suggestions to choose from. I love that this is a family owned and ran business. The chicken was juicy, seasoned to perfection and the sides were great as well. Loved the broccoli and sweet potato Fries. The add on was the IPA beer that was a HIT (media naranja). “Citybird is a great spot for chicken tenders! All their sauces are delicious and the tenders have a flavorful coating. After trying all their items, my favorite is surprisingly the salad with 3 tenders on the side! The salad has a ton of different high quality ingredients. I like getting the citybird vinaigrette but lemon thyme ranch is also amazing. The fries are really good and such a great deal for the amount they give. The bathroom is always clean. There's street parking along Halsted that you may have to pay for, except for holidays and Sundays. Definitely an underrated, affordable and delicious restaurant and West Loop. Service is great too, if you dine in they bring the food on nice plates to your table.“

“I've heard a lot of hype around Nando's and knew I had to give it a try while I was in Chicago, since it isn't readily available on the west coast. We ordered the Spicy Chicken Kale Caesar Salad, 1/2 Chicken and Chips, and a draft beer. The peri-peri marinade is spicy, citrusy, and a little smoky, with the key ingredient being the African bird's eye chili. Since it was our first time, we opted for the mild spice, but there's also sauces at varying spice levels on the side. Overall, chicken was tender and the fries and brussel sprouts were decent, but I think I wasn't as wowed by the marinade as I expected. Perhaps I was expecting something more like jerk chicken due to my own unfamliarity with the cuisine, so I felt like the grilled chicken was lacking smoky, earthy flavor. Maybe it's a flavor that will grow on me if I give it a couple more chances haha.“

“I first had Gus' around Memphis area and it tasted great for fried chicken. It includes a very small spice kick but with great flavor and cooked well. This tasted similar to Memphis area, so consistency is good so far.My order had a very minor mix-up and the staff were happy to help correct it. Great service, great food.I personally think the pricing is too high considering it is chicken, but at the least the flavor is great and worth it for maybe once a week. This is the same problem at the Memphis area for high pricing, it's quite similar.“

I was half way through of my food and was already full.They give discount to DePaul students.Something very sweet that happened to me was that I requested a low sugar Strawberry lychee iced tea 30% sugar, but it tasted still extremely sweet. Then, one of the workers made it for me 0% and compensated me. He was so sweet and very helpful! Yes, these drinks can be sweet of the fruit they use and the fruit already has sugar, of course, but it was extremely different. Environment is peaceful, and the vibes reminded me of California.“

“I was just in for dinner tonight with a friend and we had a wonderful experience. I had the traditional chicken sandwich and the corn salad. I asked our server, Kristin for her suggestion on a side, and corn salad was the winner! Amazing choice as I loved it. My friend got the 1/2 chicken and loved it. We had a great meal of fries, biscuits, and dessert. I can't say enough how great our server, Kristin was. She engaged with us, suggested food items, and came back to check on us several times. There are still great people in this world who go the extra mile. It made our dining experience so comfortable and enjoyable. I have not been back to The Roost in several years as life just got busy. “We've ordered a number of times from Brasa Roja. The wood fired whole rotisserie chicken is super flavorful and fantastic. I also recommend the juices, particularly the Soursop with milk (if you've never heard of Soursop aka Guanabana, give it a try!). Some sides are not as great as the chicken which is the only reason it's not 5 stars.“
