“Alex was amazing! She took really good care of our group of 7. She even brought out a small dessert for our birthday boy! We had a great time and will be coming here again.Parking: lots of parking on the street and a parking lot right in front of the business.“
“Food was very delicious. Lots of flavor , you can tell the cook loves what he does! Servers were very attentive. Thank you for the yummy food and great service ? when me and hubby are in town we definitely will be stopping by to try out other menu items. I look forward to it.“
“Fantastic! I tried the empanadas, quesadillas, tacos al pastor and quesabirria. Each dish was great and the plating was elegant. The ingredients are fresh and the atmosphere was very nice. I actually think it can compete with anything in the city.“
“I stopped by to try out the pozole. I was prepared to be disappointed as I have been with most restaurant pozole. The bar is pretty high as I have a friend that makes it best homemade. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. The broth was not rushed which resulted in such rich flavors. Every spoonful was filled with meat and hominy as well thanks to the generous servings in the soup. The taste reflects the patience and love that it was made with. The price point was pretty amazing as well. I will undoubtedly come back for more.“
“Can't say enough about this wonderful place. The food is some of the best even against the great Mexican food in Chicago. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the love that exists. Drinks are some of the best I've had and the creativity is second to none. My wife and I really enjoy coming here trust me, when you're here you're family. Gracias“
“Visiting my son and he suggested this “place for tacos”. Well it was way beyond tacos. This is a jewel of a place literally hidden in south suburban Chicago. The chef is adventurous and he goes way beyond traditional Mexican fare. We had an amazing mussels in chipotle sauce, that you will want extra bread for dipping. My son had a massive salmon burrito. He said the salmon was cooked to perfection. The chefs special was a four cheese ravioli with crawfish and a delicious sauce. Again, not your typical Mexican dish but terrific. The place was sadly deserted on a Tuesday night. I hope people check it out as it deserves love.“
“Wonderful murals on walls, but when it’s dark the lights were that cafeteria bright lights and not warm/inviting. Server was super nice, but refills on salsa were slow. Very accommodating with slight adjustments to meals. Cost of a bottle of Corona Light over $6 - too high and no draft beers at all. Taco chips not my favorite and the guacamole was only so-so. Overall, good but there are so many Mexican options in the area to explore as well.“
“Never a bad visit ~ hubby and I eat there at least 2-3x a month lunch or dinner. Staff is friendly and attentive to the customers. Food is delicious ? portion size is good. Very nice neighborhood diner for us. Prices are reasonable. Easy access parking.Thank you !“
“This was my Second time visiting this restaurant, and I brought my guy in to try their food. Ms. Darcy waited on us, and she was warm, and inviting as we walked in. We didn’t even have to get up when our food was ready, Ms. Darcy brought it to us!! He had a catfish dinner, and he thoroughly enjoyed it! I had the chicken wing dinner and it was a hit as well!! We tried the jerk egg rolls as well once we got home and they were good…not spicy enough for my taste though. The atmosphere here was a bit “smoky” I’m sure from the grills but the smoke consumed the dining room atmosphere. Overall, we were pleased with the food and may come back to pick up take out!“
“My boyfriend is a commercial driver and I ride with. Our home is in Virginia but our home base is in alsip IL. We stop in here when in town the staff is amazing and the food top notch. Eddie slays it behind the bar and has such a great personality. 5 out of 5 for everything here.“
“Casual atmosphere in remodeled dining room gives eat-in or take-out options. Specialty cocktails, large television screens and appetizer selection are a nice touch for sports viewing. The servers are friendly and food comes out quickly. Menu includes a variety of popular Mexican foodKid-friendliness: Very family friendly with selections for all ages“
“Ordered here because I was looking for the Birria experience, which I’ve never had before coming here. I placed my order online. I was given a time to pick it up. When I arrived it was a couple minutes early than the time suggested and my food was ready. I was happy with that. I normally check my food before leaving but due to this being my first experience I waited until I got home. Everything I ordered was there. The food was amazing I had the birria pizza, along with the birria ramen, and the Chimibirria which all exceeded my expectations. I will be going back and would recommend anyone to go there. Hopefully I will receive the same experience as before on my next visit. Thank you for the wonderful experience!“
“The quality of the food is excellent! They have great meat quality.Kid-friendliness: Waiter was super attentive to our kids. He put a movie on for them. He was more than willing to get us what we needed for the kids (plastic spoon instead of fork, etc).“
“My wife and I visited Pepper Mill on February 1, 2024. Tye restaurant was clean and taken care of. We were immediately acknowledged after entering and seated within a couple minutes. I ordered the Turkey dinner which was recommended by friends. A couple and salad accompanied the meal and it was on special that evening. The soup I selected was cream of chicken rice. Tye flavor was good but I felt it needed to be thinned out. Salad was fresh and enjoyable. The Turkey dinner was thinly sliced from fresh Turkey breast. The meat was tasty and not dry. It was layered over stuffing that was lightly seasoned. I chose mashed potato's and steamed broccoli. The potatoes tasted like they were either from a box or a mix of boxed and fresh. The broccoli was fresh and cooked nice. The Turkey gravy was layered over the potato's and the Turkey. It was flavorful and seasoned nicely. My wife chose the Meatloaf and said it was good also. We both felt the price was reasonable and we would return. Our server was excellent and added to the experience.“
“Love this place. They have all the yummy treats from sweet to spicy! The owner is so so kind! Always makes his customers feel welcomed. Small spot, has a few seats but definitely more of a stop and go. Besides that I love coming here for a nice snack.“
“HOLY COW, this is a hidden treasure of a food spot in Oak Lawn! The atmosphere of the store is amazing and cozy. Great menu selection and the food is out of this world! I ordered the Chicken Burrito Suizo and a mango Fresca and everything is made fresh and truly made with love and passion!! The rice and beans were some of the best I’ve ever had too! Great job and will be back over and over again!!“
“First time visiting and I ordered Al Pastor tacos, Chorizo sope and a quesadilla for the kid. Kid like it and mom approves ??Authentic Mexican food flavors and some of the BEST Al pastor I have ever eaten. Service was very nice when I ordered, restaurant looks and smells clean. What a Gem!“
“As with my other reviews, "Five Stars" are for "Five Star" places and that's rarified air. That being said, for a local Mexican Restaurant, Meshico is darn close. The food is great, service great and the place is spotless. It's head and shoulders above other local Mexican "burrito joints." I have to add that my mom LOVES this place, and if you knew my mom, that says a ton lol! She had the Fajitas and I had Enchiladas Verdes de Pollo & Quesadillas to start. The guacamole is very good too. We'll be back! (I have to start taking pics of food when I'm out, the presentation was very good- and again- the place itself was super clean, definitely a plus in my book). Enjoy!Parking: Lots of free parking.“
“I have been looking for a good taco place to go to and I stumbled upon this place. Let me tell you they have great tacos here. The young ladies that work here are nice and welcoming. The food is very fresh and good. Price is reasonable. I had the two taco special and it was great. If you are looking for a good taco this is the place to go to.“
“I had a torta dinner my first time dining here. It was absolutely delicious! Had to try the rice and beans first and they definitely set the tone for what was in store with the torta. Excellent taste. Their Jamaica was perfectly made as well. Will definitely be returning.“
“So we've had Sal's a handful of times already and it's great! we usually get pizza and wings not a complaint from anyone in the family! I'm usually really picky with sauce and I like this alot. we also ordered tacos from here they're good but small is the only thing negative to say. We'll definitely be back again and again!“
“This place is a good little Mexican restaurant that sells homemade burritos and pork chicken and beef nachos. The food is good and I like it, the service patient and the ambience inside the Restuarant is clean and nice. All and all a good restaurant.“
“Awesome Caldo de Pollo, just what I had had in mind tonight! It was loaded with veggies and chicken that I did not mind less of the broth! It was fabulous! I wish I could have enjoyed one of their drinks cause I know how good they are!??☺️“
“We went tonight for dinner and were shocked! As regular customers we were surprised by the UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT sign. We were also told NO ALCOHOL.Jose you and your family will be missed. We are saddened that we were unable to say ..you will be missed and your in our thoughts and prayers. We hope to see you again soon!Mike & Louise , your friends at the bar!“
“Everything is the best here! Including all my ladies bartending and serving!! Always friendly, fast and delicious food. My favorite place since one of my Big Bosses invited me here year’s ago but I declined his offer for dinner and drinks. I don’t like mixing business and personal. Keep up the great work!! Best margaritas hands down!! No store bought mix!! Only the fresh stuff!“
“My husband and I have visited Soundgrowler at least once a month since we moved here a few years ago and have always had a great time! The beer is fantastic, food is delicious, and the staff is always great. I’m not a big metal music fan but they do such a great job creating a whole vibe that I enjoy it! Whenever we have friends and family visit from around the country we bring them to Soundgrowler and they always want to stop by again when they return to the area. Y’all are the best!“
“One day when we were so busy in the afternoon and we were hungry, we remembered a place where they sell roast chickens and roast beef (they sell roast beef by the pound) we ordered chicken and roast beef to take away.Once at home when we started eating, this food was delicious, tasty and juicy. The Pure Tasty.“
“La Cocina Jaliscience is a great place to visit for a casual bite to eat. It's very informal but that's not a detractor. I always love their tacos and cheese quesadillas, and the burritos are very good as well. My wife tried the flautas this time and said they were good as well. My only comment is that I don't prefer their method for serving salsa with the delicious chips because it comes in what I can best describe as breakfast restaurant tabletop syrup pourers and I've always found it to be messy and also strange and invariably amongst whoever accompanies me to dine-in here the conversation always involves a laugh/bewilderment about the condiments being served in syrup jars.“
“The ladies that work there are very nice they take your order and get you your food in a timely fashion they're always smiling and they love to see familiar faces everything on the menu is very good and I love their chicken tamales everything is delicioso and their beans and rice are off the chain“
“They have two locations, one set up b p gas station at a 143st and lagrange in the BP but do not serve alcohol and the second location full service with drinks at 9645 Lincoln way lane suite 106 Frankfort IllinoisWheelchair accessibility: No stairs“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Maria's Tamales, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere, and it only got better from there. The star of the show, of course, was the tamales, which were nothing short of exceptional. The menu at Maria's Tamales offers a wide variety of options, but the pozole and menudo really stood out to me. The pozole was rich and flavorful, with tender pork and a perfectly seasoned broth that left me wanting more. The menudo was equally impressive, with its robust flavors and comforting warmth. Both dishes were clearly made with care and expertise, and they transported me to the heart of Mexico with every bite. What truly sets Maria's Tamales apart, however, is the authenticity of the food. You can tell that the tamales are made with traditional recipes and high-quality ingredients, resulting in a truly genuine and delicious dining experience. The staff was also incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal.If you're in the mood for authentic Mexican cuisine, I highly recommend Maria's Tamales. Whether you're craving tamales, pozole, menudo, or any other Mexican delicacy, you're sure to find something that delights your taste buds. I can't wait to return to Maria's Tamales for another memorable meal. Arriba Michoacán!!!!! I love Paulina.“
“We have been Camino Viejo many times. Best ground beef and shrimp tacos in Frankfort, hands down. We’ve had other dishes too. All really fresh, really good but I keep coming back for the tacos. Super clean, good service. Love that they have outdoor seating. When we’re short on time we do takeout from them and the food travels well/does not suffer. I highly recommend this place!“
“Great home made Mexican food and pizza also, got calzone that think was so big feed it 3 people, tacos also fresh and delicious, service outstanding, every time we get there we get something new from owner to try it,just great friendly place with great food !!!!!!!!“
“Quality breakfast diner in Oak Lawn that's been around since I was a kid. I've gone here several times with my grandparents, and now just grandma since it became juts her. They have all the usual breakfast and lunch staples, but at a reasonable house, and you get nice portions. Last time I went I got the special skillet, with a sign of french toast. Easily fills you up, if you can even finish it all. I like how friendly and nice the staff and owners were to my grandma, who comes here quite a bit. They know her by name, and recognize her and treat her well, so that is always great to see. Has its own parking lot. We went prime time noon Sunday, yet still got a booth, though it was crowded. Definitely your go to place if looking for that old school feel in the Oak Lawn area.“
“Stopped in for a great lunch date and really enjoyed their indoor patio. Although this was a warm February day, the indoor patio still felt comfortable. This was my first time here, so I decided to try a steak taco on flour shell, al pastor taco on corn shell, and a beef tostada. None disappointed, the beef meat won as my favorite meat due to the superb seasoning. A bonus was their table tortilla chips were very warm, fresh and crispy which always makes for a better meal. The horchata drink was fresh and delicious too. I had great service and will definitely be back.Parking: Large lot approximately 30 to 40 spaces“
“Their food is amazing!!!! I have had their potato flautas, chile relleno and steak tacos. Their hot sauce is one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Their service is fantastic. The young lady who works as the cashier has such wonderful customer service skills. Definitely would recommend this place!!! I’m Mexican and I can say their food is authentic and magically delicious!!!“
“Unfortunately I didn’t get any pics of my order as I took my food to go . This place is awesome !! I loved everything I got ! Definitely surprised to have gotten these great of carnitas while in the burbs usually you have to go to the city for the good ones but this place is great ! I got Carnitas tacos and pastor tacos with onions and cilantro and a side of rice allll amazing flavor and madePerfectly. I loved all 3 of the homemade sauces that came with it . Pared so well either way the carnitas ! I will be back ! I definitely recommend this place . Service was fast and great . Small area to eat if you choose to dine in .“
“Super delicious hole in the wall authentic Mexican food. The place is small, but clean, and the staff is so friendly and eager to make our meals meet our expectations. They always do too. I have tried the flautas, enchiladas, taco salad, tacos de lengua, agua de horchata and have enjoyed each and every one of these meals.“
“My first visit here has been awesome! A super friendly woman greeted me, and took my order at the counter. I had chips and salsa and a chicken chimichanga and they were a 10 out of 10 on the flavor scale. The chips were fantastic as were the salsas and the pico de gallo. The chicken chimichanga was one of the best I've ever had anywhere.. I also had the Jamaica to drink, sweetened hibiscus based tea that was wonderful with my spicy food! I will definitely be back to this restaurant again and again!“
“I had the crab cake and grilled calamari. Both were delicious just wish they had french bread to dip in the oil from calamari. My reg margarita was not good. I'm now hearing i should have ordered the Cadillac margarita. Chips and salsa was just ok.“
“Speedy Burrito is located in a strip mall in Tinley Park. We used to love this place, and we lived close by, so we visited a lot. But we moved 4 years ago, so this was our first visit in a long time. We weren't sure what to expect since the reviews were pretty mixed. Well, let me just say that the food was amazing! Portions are huge! We both had the mini burritos, and neither of us could finish them. They serve complimentary chips and salsa. Salsa is very good...not spicy, but very flavorful. Chips were good, nothing special, but good. They also serve two sauces, red and green. Both yummy--but the red is very spicy. I loved it; hubby said it was too spicy. Some reviewers complained about the prices here. I don't get it. A mini burrito is $7...$8 with a drink. Completely reasonable considering the size, and the very generous portion of steak and chicken. The girl who took our order was nice, but misunderstood our order. Language barrier? I ordered bean, and hubby ordered chicken. We were delivered a steak and a chicken. But she apologized and offered to remake the order. We were ok with the error, and we took what she brought. Mine was filled with moist tasty chicken, and hubby's was full of steak (which is chopped very small...almost like ground beef.). He loved it. As we left, the girl who took our order apologized again. Very nice! It is very loud here. It's a super small space with an open kitchen...so be prepared for the noise. We will definitely make the drive to come more frequently!“
“so far the dishes we have tried are very good especially the Chilaquiles Rojas. Their horchata is the best I've ever had, their nachos are excellent & their Bistec ala Mexicana is also great. Fresh ingredients & prompt service!“
“Love the fact that it's certified Halal, I've been wanting to take my muslim Friends to try Mexican food for so long and this is authentic and really delicious. Fabian delivers superb service, and was able to make suggestions. More than happy to return and suggest this place to my friends!“
“Unassuming from the street, El Paron proved to be a great choice for a Saturday lunch. I had burrito pastor (with a pork tamale) and others had a taco plate and the other a "bowl" (more like a taco salad). Everything was hot, delicious, and of good size. The restaurant was clean and prices were reasonable. I'd glad go back.“
“Just go! This is our hidden gem for Mexican cuisine. So nice! My wife and I love everything we've ordered. We brought our daughter last week and our son yesterday. It's a family run business. Recommendations include the chili relleno burrito or plate, tacos, the San Juan Plate (the salsa de chile de árbol is amazing), tortas, and enchiladas…so so good! The owners are soo nice! Oh, and she makes the best cocktails too! Buen provecho!“
“I had the steak tacos on flour tortillas with lettuce tomato onion and cheese ? and they were out of this world! The red and green salsas taste homemade and really amplify the great flavor of the tacos. My big mistake was not coming here sooner.“
“Ordered for the first time today. Wanted some good Mexican food. Didn't want the usual local restaurants so I ventured outside the box.Food was very good here. Everything fresh. Taco salad delicious. Birria tacos, VERY GOOD, Steak tostada crisp and the steak burrito also pretty good. Recommend this place to anyone craving good Mexican food.I will be back for more..“
“Great small father and son owned place. Food is delicious and authentic and they are the most REASONABLY priced in the area and the best quality. Rice and beans are delicious as well. Cash only but I understand why with inflation. Worth It to keep costs down for owners. Will always go back here in the oak forest/tinley/midlo area.“
“Idk I got the birria burrito with no onion but apparently they can’t read English cause my receipt said no onion but they must of thought extra cause that’s all I got was meat and onion almost no rice and a barely cooked tortilla. For $20 I won’t go there again. Disappointed“
“If you follow my reviews at all you will notice that I am big on "categories" or "levels" of food. I believe that its very important. So I don't compare a Taco Bell with a Casa Del Mar Mexican Bar and Grill. That being said this location is very good. From order taking to collecting the cash its a great flow. What I like is that they always have the specialty or temporary items that are not even on the app yet.Look, for low cost and some decent tasting fast food you can not go wrong here.“
