“Few months late! Came to Penumbra for Valentine’s Day and it was such a great choice. Ambiance set was really intimate, requested the private curtain area ahead of time and it felt like we were on our own place. Felt like a family owned place. The food and service were equally as good and on our way out an employee handed us a small rose shaped soap and thanked us for dining in. We had the bocaditos quesadilla which was the best version of a quesadilla we’ve had, shadow shrimp, a flat iron steak, and surf and turf. We ate/loved everything.“

“The atmosphere was more casual & rustic than expected (basically a heated garden shed), and the menu is small, but the food was amazing. The brussel sprouts were delicious. The trout was very good, but could have used a heartier veggie pairing like potatoes. Their Bad Romance cocktail was one of my favorites. I probably wouldn't return for a while since the majority of their menu is red meat and cheese (which I don't eat) but perhaps when their menu is updated seasonally, if they have a different seafood option. The back patio looked nice for warmer weather. (Note it is quite a small venue with only 1 bathroom.)“

“Our server Anna was perfect. The ahi tuna salad that I ordered had a generous amount of tuna and very wonderful avocado slices, along with lots of other ingredients. The three people with me loved their choices also, especially the Neat burger with an egg on it. We shared carrot cake with caramel and a lot of nuts and the huge piece was more than enough for three over-eaters. This is place to pop into for a casual, delicious meal.“

“We just moved to the area and my wife and I finally made it to Websters wine bar. We were greeted by the friendly hostess, and made our way to the overflow bar in the back. The setting was quaint and intimate.We were greeted by the knowledgeable beverage director Nick. He brought a taste of a nice Bordeaux as a welcome gesture which we appreciated. I’ve loved what I got each time. The place is also just so cozy and atmospheric. It is BUSY so make a reservation but this is one of my favorite wine bars I’ve been to.“

“We always ask for Giovanni to be our server, but we were told that he's on vacation in Peru (good for him!). Stephanie was our server and she was AMAZING! Giovanni had put notes in the computer system on what we like and Stephanie relayed that to us. We were so impressed!! My husband and I are both in the service industry (he's a server at Sophia Steak in Wilmette and I'm a hairstylist). We appreciate all that you guys do for us! “This was such a pleasant surprise and hidden gem for the neighborhood. The whole meal was amazing, portions were good and the flavors were on point. Service was great and they even gave us the most amazing cheesy soft chewy hot out of the pizza oven bread on the house when we asked for extra bread to sop up the sauce in the mussels. Everything at this place is delicious and unique! We would highly recommend Buona Terra Ristorante for a genuinely next level, Italian dining experience.“

“Elm restaurant in LaGrange is an upscale "to be seen " restaurant and cocktail lounge. You can dine on the ground level or the upper level, which offers a covered outside environment. The food is exceptional, as is the service and modern decor. They have a partially viewable kitchen in which I observed no less than 11 people working the cook line. I also saw an upstairs and downstairs casual seating conversation area, which was quite unique. A stairway or elevator access is available to the second floor for outdoor dining and banquet room. The menu offers full size entrees, which are very generous or small plates. Best to make reservations.“

(Or two) I realize I was late for my flight and ran to my gate. I of course left my laptop there. Thank you for reporting it because I was screwed if not. “Where do I start? I came across this place on instagram. I was shocked, that I had been missing out. I didn't go right away. So, I decided to go one Friday and the service was awesome. Both bartenders, were very nice and attentive. The ambiance, was chill. Some people, were standing having their wine immersed in conversation. I took a seat, at the bar since I was alone. I cannot remember, the drinks I had. But, I enjoyed both! I visited again, the following Friday LOL! This time, a little earlier. I sat at the bar again, this time I went for the special "froze rose" with a shot of gin. Extremely good drink! So I had two lol Many thanks, to that bartender! Both times, I loved my expertience...I've found a new chill, laid back, after work on a Friday spot!“
