“Stopped in here with my dad while we were in Skokie and can confirm my dad was obsessed with the French fries (he ate the whole basket by himself). We split a kebab meal and the chicken was tasty. The baklava was excellent, and the whole restaurant overall was very clean. I def want to go back to try more of their food!“

Their full slab of Baby Back Ribs has been $25 for ages, and it's as good as it's always been, fall off the bone tender right balance of sweet and salty, a little fat and their delicious glaze.

Portions are good, food is out in like 3-8 minutes, love coming here.“

“I have gone to Andros Taverna for many years now where I am never disappointed and always impressed with the service, the quality of food and ingredients, the atmosphere and the passion in general. Chef Doug Psaltis is a true expert and artist performing at the highest levels. The gyros are the best, best gyros in Chicago by far, the seafood world class, the homemade bread and pita are incredible. The foods and meats are cooked over wood fire, wood fire grilled. We had our daughters baptism catered from here which was excellent assortment of Greek food - this is a Greek restaurant you will go to for many years to come.“

“Had lunch there today and I have to say this is the first time I was disappointed with the service. The food was excellent but that's it. Asked for 2nd drink and never got it. Water was never refilled until we were through eating. When first ordering our wine we had problems. I will continue to eat here and hopefully this is a one time occurrence.“

“It has the absolute best food! In the 30+ years we’ve been going for dinner, we’ve never had a bad meal! The Athenian chicken and kabobs are outstanding, along with the Greek fries. Maria, the owner is wonderful! And very accommodating! Definitely need to go here more often! A family favorite for sure!“

“Walker Bro's was closed so on a whim, I changed the cuisine to Greek and was recommended Taverna Naxos; a hop, skip and a jump away. Walked in blind to any expectations and immediately was stunned by the ambiance, esthetics and cleanliness of the restaurant! I was the only patron and confused if they were even open. Michael, assured me that they were and gave me carte blanche on seating. The chef personally handed me a plate of bread and hummus and the flavor profile knocked my world off balance! When the Tzatziki & Kedfeh (Greek meatballs) arrived, my world stopped spinning in orbit. Each ingredient tasted as if it was hand selected earlier in the day!

The bathrooms were immaculate. The menu & specials looked as if they had just been taken out for their maiden voyage! This has got to be a date night hot spot, if it's not, do it!

I'm curious if they bring the ruckus under pressure of a full house but by look of it, they mean serious Greek business! Thank you, Michael, Head Chef & Taverna Naxos staff for altering my mood with the experience!“

“The food was amazing and the service on the roof was great. I got the impression it was the owner who was running things upstairs. However, multiple groups walked in at 7:45 /8:00 and were greeted in the downstairs by an equally annoyed expression from the employees. I guess they close at 9and I'm assuming they were annoyed people showed up before closing (even though it was an hour before and I had a reservation.) when I checked online, they still offered reservations until 8:45. Everything else was amazing, but it was really off putting. Enough so that I would think twice about going back.“

“One of my all time favorite restaurants, 20+ years going strong, with Greek taverna classics. Can’t beat the outdoor patio in the summer, and great vibe indoors as well. Standouts include grilled octopus, kolokithakia, spaghetti, charbroiled chicken and perhaps the best lamb chops (pictured) I have had in the US.“

“I can’t say enough good stuff about this place. My bf& I enjoyed some delicious bacon cheeseburgers last night. It was phenomenal. Fries were a little dry…. But not bad. Other than that, each time I have gone the staff is super friendly and the daily specials are great. It’s good to see a place that still has affordable burgers, pizza and hot dogs! “My fiancé and I have been a gyro war. I’m a Skokie Dengeos girl and he’s a diehard Squabs fan. While it’s hard to compete with childhood memories after trying Squabs I totally get it. The gyro was perfectly cooked, the tzatziki was beautiful, the fries were delicious. The absolute standout was the customer service. I was having such a bad day. I confused the gyro plate with the gyro dinner and they took such good care of me. I had cried the whole ride over and left with the biggest smile and a plate of leftovers. 10/10 I will be coming back every chance I get.“

“I just had the best gyro of my life at Gyro Guys! From the first bite, I knew I was in for something special. The gyro was completely full of meat and the meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. This gyro was a real nuke it was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The pita was soft and fresh, and the tzatziki sauce was creamy and tangy, complementing the gyro perfectly. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner who is known as Chef Zuzu, he told me they recently opened up and seems like a great, honest, and hardworking business owner. “Found Tama Chicago on a restaurant guide. I'm glad we tried it, we enjoyed every dish we had. We had the empanadas which were freshly made, moist and delicious. We would eat those again all day. We had the mussels and that was really tasty as well. Love the saffron sauce it was cooked in. We would get those again. We also had the short rib and orzo and that was good. I would say the orzo was the star of the dish, it was really flavorful. The short rib itself didn't really have much flavor and didn't add much to the dish. We also had the burger and that was the superstar of the whole meal. Great quality meat, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. I would drive an hour for that burger. One of the best burgers in Chicago. We are definitely going back to Tama to try other dishes they had on the menu.“
