“The pho broth, meat, and toppings were very generous and delicious. One issue was I ordered the chicken pho but found chunks of beef intestine and quail egg (?) in my soup, and my friend did too. “We've been to this location ballpark 4-5 times in 2 months since we found that there's a Vietnamese food place nearby! The ginger chicken bahn mi is superior, absolutely recommend with jalapenos! (They aren't too spicy, but they add a layer of delicious with the lemongrass chicken!) The fresh shrimp spring are also just delicious, the peanut sauce that comes with is a REALLY nice consistency I didn't know I needed- it's perfect for taking a bite, drizzling some into the roll, and having another bite. Most peanut sauces are more "dipping" sauces, this is way more brilliant. They also carry a sparkling yuzu and white peach drink by Moshi that is REALLY delightful, and perfect with the bahn mi.

My guy ordered the beef pho last time, and I tried it, and I wanted to steal it, but my chicken curry was also really good, so I definitely want to order these again! There's a few other locations around the area, but under a slightly different name, Lotus Banh Mi. Guy and I feel like the consistency between the 2 locations are excellent! HIGHLY recommend!

The atmosphere at this location is great, it's off the street, with parking just around the corner, and the location has a very comfortable, fresh, feeling. We're hoping to stop by for lunch one afternoon, get some things we haven't tried yet, and walk around the area some- there's a great park about a block away!

I got the banh bao (still warm), banh gio (freshly steamed), banh tieu, some eggrolls & some flan! I loved that the banh bao was full of hard boiled egg & sausage & they didn’t skimp on those fillings. The banh gio was still super warm when I got home and hour later. And OMG the flan was the bomb!!! It was so silky & smooth. I think it’s cash only but totally worth it & the cashier was super nice. “This is the place you want to go for when you want to authentic Vietnamese food. We got the Grilled Lemon Grass Beef Banh Mi and man that sandwich didn't have the right to be THAT GOOD. Everything was delicious, from the the warm and crispy Baguette, to the perfect beef, the correct toppings and man the ratios were so so good!
We ended with a couple of coffees and the experience was completed perfectly.
Now the service was just the cherry on top! Everyone was nice and helpful and just wanted us to enjoy our quick bite. Anytime i'm anywhere near Chicago, i will be stopping by here for sure.“

“This is my favorite pho I have had in Chicago since we moved in a little over a year ago. The location is great too, near the lakefront and surrounded by some other great places to eat. My boyfriend went for a bahn mi without looking at the menu in advance and ended up getting the curry goat stew instead. He loved it so much that he says it changed the way he orders Vietnamese food, so I would recommend that dish as well.“

“Le Colonial in Chicago gave us such a great dining experience from the start. Our server was all smiles and super attentive, which set a really positive tone. The chilled shrimp roll and pho bo were honestly some of the best I've ever had. The shrimp roll was packed with fresh veggies that blended perfectly for a refreshing, bright flavor. The pho bo had a beautifully balanced broth—flavorful without being overly spiced. We also tried the shaking beef, and the filet mignon was incredibly tender, with a soy-based sauce that added a nice twist. Definitely a spot I'd love to go back to!“
