“We visited The Graceful Ordinary in downtown St. Charles, IL, on a warm late September day. We had a wonderful experience at Graceful Ordinary, one that's hard to match outside of Chicago. From its comfortable yet elegant design to the unique menu, every detail was carefully considered. The food was delicious and thoughtfully presented, and the service was excellent. We were fortunate to visit on a very warm day towards the end of September. We sat on the fully screened-in veranda and enjoyed the scenery in comfort. They have Fish Fry on Fridays but I’ve never had it but I want to. The owners are great and their sexy son, Chad, works some nights and is great eye candy for the ladies. If you want a bartender that serves up honesty along with great drinks, Jimmy is your man. He’s brutally honest so ask him to roast you for a good time. He once referred to a customer as the Vampire of Fun and he was spot on. Tiffany is a ball of energy, whose spirit is infectious. If you’re having a bad day, go during her shifts and she’ll pick you up immediately. Gale is the last bartender I’ve interacted with who works there. He’s a cool calm dude who can tell you some of the most interesting facts of the area. He’s also a caterer and a butcher when not at the bar. Theres someone for everyone here and if you’re in from out of town or just traveling through, have a stop at Hoppes just so you can say you’ve been there.“

“The staff have been really rude to me ever since I pointed out that my tab was wrong and I was overcharged. I wasn't upset about the double charges, I just wanted them corrected. I've barely been waited on since then it seems. I tried to step in a help once when a patron had been over served. It wasn't welcomed at all. I was given the same look as I get when I walk up to the bar to get a drink. Too bad, it's really close to home to me. I haven't been in over a year and have no plans on returning.“

“When I used to live in West Chicago a couple of years ago, my fiancé now husband and I used to go there all the time and his Uncle Mike. I recommend this place 100%, the drinks are good, the bartenders are friendly, and the Viper Burger was our favorite. Alan is an awesome guy with a great sense of humor. The atmosphere is chill, welcoming and you'll have a great time. When I say to stop by The Bunker, I mean it lol 😃. Whenever we are in town again, we are definitely going to try stopping by. 😌✨“

“Usually, there is a food truck this time was pizza individual sized and tasty. Maybe a couple dollars more than I had expected for a a bit bigger than personal size but, very tasty. Atmosphere is relaxing and casual. One patron brought their dog, very chill. Great beers on tap along with wines and porters. Seating is inside and outside. Can't beat this place for leisure. If lot is full they have the grass roped off for parking.“

Lou, Heidi and Kelly did fantastic and helped make my dream come alive! Every question I had they answered and were able to accommodate so much! Heidi was in CONSTANT communication with me and was able to give advice and help me through the whole process. Her suggestions were so helpful and she helped during the ceremony and reception. I could not have done it without them. This place treats you like family and has amazing service! When my husband and I went to pick up our things the next morning we were planning on taking 2 trips and Lou let us borrow his truck that is how amazing and friendly they are! WE LOVE YOU HAWTHORNES! Thanks for making our wedding the best day of our lives(: not to mention EVERY guest couldn’t stop talking about how fun the venue was and there was something for everyone to do, wiffleball, volleyball, giant beer pong, bags, dancing, and more! Sports oriented. Did not check out the menu. We just ordered a beverage. Wait staff was kind, cheerful, and attentive. They have a nice patio as well. A great place to relax as you wait for a train or a great place to unwind after a day downtown and long train ride.“
