“I had a really enjoyable meal. The place has a casual, welcoming vibe, and the menu offers a great variety of Thai and Lao favorites. We started with the spring rolls, which were fresh, crisp, and served with a tasty dipping sauce .The drunken noodles were a standout—packed with flavor, slightly spicy, and perfectly balanced with veggies and noodles cooked freshly.

Another highlight was the papaya salad. It was refreshing, and tangy.
Honestly, it was one of the best papaya salads I’ve had in a while. The Panang curry with tofu was creamy and aromatic, a comforting dish that paired beautifully with steamed rice. The tofu soaked up the curry flavors nicely, making every bite delicious.

I ordered a cold Thai tea, which was sweet, smooth, and refreshing—perfect alongside the spicier dishes. Overall, the food was flavorful, portions were generous, and everything tasted freshly prepared. It’s definitely a spot worth visiting , with plenty of vegetarian-friendly options.“

“Ive been to 2 other Chicago Ramen spots and this had the best service and atmosphere by far.

I tried the king of sea tsukemen. As its own thing it was just ok, not bad, not amazing.

I was really hoping for a fishy pork tsukemen (tonkatsu gyokai?) and what I got wasn't that. I wouldn't order it again and its unfortunate that this location doesn't do their normal menu because I would be back at this convenient location so often for their normal tsukemen. (Or gyokai, but I can dream)

Hopefully they'll move this menu to one of their northern locations where there are more nearby options!“

“I order a Miso soup, it was fantastic, to the point that I feel so sleepy, the broth was thick and full of flavor, the noodles fantastic, but my favorite part was the pork, so tender, so delicious.

“What a great restaurant! Came here to celebrate Father’s Day last night and had to write a review. The appetizer menu was extensive and tempting so we got a lot :). All were good with notable mentions to the chicken wings, takoyaki, fried oysters, sesame balls, and chicken buns. The ramen was so good with rich broth and fresh ingredients, you can tell this was lovingly prepared. Service was friendly and inviting, I knew it was going to be good when they brought my beer in a frosted mug :). “The steamed BBQ pork buns are a must! Beyond delicious. I also am a huge fan of the gluten-free thin rice noddles that I substitute in my main dish typically! The spicy ramen broth is delicious (my husbands go-to). If you are in a rush, this might not be the place for you. A true mom and pap shop, perfecting every dish before serving. For my husband and I, it’s well worth the wait for the authentic divine flavors. Great portion sizes as well!“

“I haven't been to Alexander's in years and my last experience wasn't a good one. The food wasn't great and the service was terrible. This time was a complete 180° experience! The place has been renovated and looks very nice and very clean (including the very nice restroom). The food and service were, both, wonderful with nice selections on the menu. We went on a weekend, so they had a piano player who was very good. Even the prices weren't the usual "painful" experience of most restaurants. We will, definitely, return. I went because I was told they had improved, considerably, from what I remembered. They have!“
