“Being from the suburbs traveling downtown can be an experience. This particular experience made our day. Moving our daughter into DePaul we came upon the owner of Red Light chicken who gave us a few pointers in parking near his establishment, after taking the time to help us find a spot he happily welcomed us with a free chicken sandwich which I’m happy to report was delicious. It was nice meeting you tonight and I’ll be certainly stopping by again - Fries are a game changer to!!!“

“A young lady named Samantha (POSC) was very welcoming, courteous, and patient. She had a smile at all times.I have a stomach condition and she offered alternatives which helped me feel understood. I wish we had many other Samantha's as cashier because people like her really make a difference!!! It is my first time and I want to come back!!!!“

“Great atomosphere cool concept like how they call out the alcohol and food orders when Ready. The pimento Mac was great flavor, as was the mashed and gravy. Very unique to have boneless breast thighs wing and leg portions battered and fried. Was very good. I just think the sauces were way to pricey at $1.45 a sauce wow even 99 cents seems a lot but would feel better lol. At least give one with the order or reduce the sauce price. But overall they need to spread this concept into more areas for sure out side like in the suburbs“

“Was on my way home from the airport and had to get a quick bite to eat. So glad I stopped here! David assisted us through the drive through and man does he go above and beyond for the establishment!! Best customer service!! David educated us on the choices and was patient with our big order. David is awesome and I hope he knows how well he does his job. Along with David being awesome the food was AMAZING.“

“I’ve loved this place since the day I started ordering it! I order this almost every week or every other week when I’m at work in the evening. It’s always delivered fresh and warm and the chicken is amazing the seasonings are fantastic! And the names of the items to order are hilarious also the humor in me makes me laugh at them!“

“Excellent Customer Service (That's important),
The Spicy Garlic Soy Sauce was deliciously spicy! The Jr Chicken Sandwich was a great portion and filling I had the Hot Version (Habanero) and yes it was HOT as I HOPED FOR 🥵🔥(FINALLY AND FOR ONCE!). My son (13) had the Chicken wrap with Mild sauce (Cayenne) and he smacked the whole thing and said it was very good. We also ordered Fried Okra✅ Delicious and Fresh Never Frozen! The side of white rice fresh, soft and excellent grain quality ✅. The Slaw was Ok I would have appreciated a little more seasoning (perhaps) but I did like that it was the slaw threads very slimmed cut.
This is A GREAT HOUSE FOR REAL SPICY FOOD LOVERS! DONT ORDER THE HOT LEVEL OR HIGHER IF YOU DONT TRULY EAT SPICY FOODS, BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT KIDDING AND THE HOT SAUCE IS HOT! (please don't ask for a refund if you asked for the wrong level not fair to new business and there are warnings signs letting you know that it's on you if u make a mistake, so start at the lowest level of u just don't know (bell pepper)....
...... I can't wait to Try the Ghost Pepper level NEXT God willing.

It was crispy and well seasoned and served on a perfect brioche bun… Coleslaw was great and the potato salads (both classic & mustard) were on point… loved the 24k side sauce too! So delicious! Definitely coming back and looking forward to trying the mac-n-cheese next time!“

“I think this might be my first review ever, and if it isn't then it's the only one I remember making the effort to do...
I visited Chicago for about a week and tried plenty of restaurants in that time - from carts to michelin starred. I have to say that in my entire stay, the Art of Chicken takes the prize for my favorite meal.
They absolutely killed the pulled chicken sandwich and Mac n cheese (be sure to add their sauce to it)!!
While I was the only guest at the time, Mr. Christian behind the register made the effort to strike up convo and ensure that the hospitality was the icing on the cake.
I can't wait to visit again 🍻“

“I have dined at this location many times and always have good experience.
Today Liz and Kody went above and beyond — from making sure food was not brought out when I was not at my table (I am a woman, by myself, and needed to use the restroom so I informed them and asked them not to bring food out if I am not there), and helping with minor mishaps even though they did not have to. They are also very patient with other customers.
Food is amazing as always.
You are literally the best location in Chicago. Keep up the good work!“

“I tried the original fried chicken and the spicy garlic chicken—both were enjoyable, though the latter was slightly too sweet for my taste. The store could benefit from better cleanliness. That said, food was served promptly, and the prices were reasonable. I’ll likely return, but only for takeout.“

“To start, I think this establishment was a hit when it arrived to Chicago. Food was fresh, hot and service was always good. Boxcar Betty was a fave chain that didn’t survive in wicker park, but me & my homie instantly felt like this became our suitable replacement at first bite and it has been to date.
Unfortunately, my recent experience as of 9/13/25 @ 7pm matched the most recent comments of discontent. My fries were greasy and not all crispy and more fresh tasting as I previously recalled. They weren’t hot as I’d usually experienced. Even my sandwich was lukewarm (not hot) and fresh tasting as it used to be. Especially considering I ate in establishment. I don’t recall the tenders ever being of generous proportions, but mine were definitely smaller than i recall. I’m fine with smaller portions as long as the amount given make up for this and hopefully the chickens are ethically raised. Ownership must understand that we have many options in our big foodie city — filled with excellent alternatives. Hopefully they make it right, because it’d be unfortunate to see you all end like good ol’ Betty. The bevs are still tasty, tho. Just do the sensible thing of listening to the people circulating money into your biz if it matters to you as much as it does to those taking time to leave reviews, which is better than leaving you without a care as you may become another good thing that used to be…

“First time here! Chicken was flavorful & juicy! Even the chicken with no seasoning had a great taste. Reasonable price, I paid about $48 for two adults & one child. The shake was not too sugary - definitely would come back! Just an fyi mild still has a bit of cayenne for those who don’t like anything spicy, I recommend plain.“

“I only have one complaint about this establishment. I brought a vanilla lemonade shake and it tasted like it was freezer burnt. I didn't have time to go back, so I let it be. I continued to support because my son loves the food. As far as I know, he hasn't had a complaint yet.“

“I went there on a Sunday afternoon. Not only was the food fresh and good but the service was outstanding. The young lady at the counter was so nice. Most of the time when you go to chicken spots they have attitudes and rush you while ordering. I never take it too personally but still. Even when she left for break , the cook came to take over and his attitude was great as well.“
