Chinese Restaurants near Vernon Hills

“There aren't many good Chinese restaurants in the vicinity, but this spot offers a decent selection for the Vernon Hills area. My one complaint is that their website has broken ordering links and doesn’t list a menu, so I’m posting photos of it here to help everyone out!“

“They didn’t have the meats I wanted but were adamant that it was going to be only a couple minutes. They were very friendly when talking to us so we stayed and waited. For some reason these were the two best tasting meats I’ve had at panda. We go a lot, so this is saying a lot. Might just have been the freshness from coming right off the kitchen, but it was fantastic.“

“We recently visited Panda Express and tried their Teriyaki Chicken. It was absolutely delicious—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked! The portion was generous, and the sauce added just the right amount of sweetness. Our server, Yulia, was amazing—attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her excellent service truly stood out. We will definitely come back to enjoy more delicious meals here!“

Hams a cheap meat for a reason and idc for it in my combination fried rice. This place replaces green garden nicely for me. Inside looked a lil dingy but I don't goto food places for atmospheres. “Didn’t get food from the Golden Kitchen in a fairly long time. Today I was impressed by the one woman show on display, cooking, packing the food, taking orders, and being as gracious as always. The food is good and the place exemplifies the family business model. I’ll go back more often to ensure that places like this stay in business.“

My family was out and I was on my own recovering from a surgery and felt like treating myself so I figured “ let’s get a bit fancy and order PF Chang”. What a huge mistake that was. The beef with Broccoli had les than 2 oz of beef for $30. I have included a comparison between Hunan Palace’s beef with vegetables vs what I received from PF. Hunan Palace blows PF away! Additional I have had very good luck requesting modifications, I like extra spicy and extra sauce, Human honored my request while PF did not. I think the pics tell all“

“I’m from the city and haven’t found a Chinese spot in the suburbs until now. The moment I walked in the door I was greeted by a big smile from the woman preparing my carry out order. The pork fried rice was great! It was well seasoned and had a generous amount of pork in it. The portions were exactly what you expect for the price you pay. Very satisfied.“

“It’s a great go-to place where I often pick up on Tuesday nights. The food is ready 10 to 15 minutes after I order it over the phone. The lady who takes the order and gives me the food to-go is unfailingly pleasant and always smiles. We love their Mongolian beef, and enjoy their egg rolls, hot & sour soup and wonton soup. Never a bad meal. All delicious with generous portions and a fair price.“

“I've been going to this location for over 4 yrs and I live 20-30 minutes away. I dont normally get chinese and I drive past at least 3 other chinese food locations just so I can buy from this location. They are amazing in every way; extremely friendly and patient and the food is always correct and tastes incredible.“

“This place is local fan favorite. This place has been here for years. Other come and go but China Garden stays and their food speaks for it. Delicious authentic food.

“This is some of the best Chinese food I’ve had. From eggrolls to fried rice, the quality is great! Tastes fresh, portions are reasonable and how long it takes to receive your order is prompt. I can’t even take a picture of the food because I ate it all, it smelled so good. If you want fast, fresh and savory food, def come here! You barely need soy sauce and the food is so warm, very comforting. Thankful for their speedy service and active listening“

“I came here a year ago and the food was disgusting. I went yesterday as they're under new ownership and was absolutely blown away. Mongolian beef and potstickers were A++. AND THE SUSHI WAS SO GOOD OMG“

We ordered three different chicken dishes: Cashew Chicken, Chicken and Broccoli, and lemon Chicken. All of them tasted unique. Their YanYan Special rice was great and had a good amount of shrimp. The over all experience was to my liking.“

“Have ordered from here a few times and it has always been a solid take out establishment. Easy ordering, good selection and the dishes that we have ordered were always fresh and good quality. The beef especially has always been tender which is sometimes a rarity for take out in these parts.“

“Have done delivery from here like 10 times and just wanted to give them a nod. Most of the Chinese food in the area is aggressive mid or worse.. this place slaps. You get your money's worth, and they're consistently great. Will order again- don't go anywhere else in the area or you'll have sad food.“

“My experience was both positive and negative. The food was pricey but well worth it since you can get 2 or 3 meals out of it. My wife's sesame chicken had an abundance or sweet and sour sauce. Too much for her taste. My shrimp eggs foo young was great along with the egg rolls. My pickup experience was terrible. The sign says "ring the bell"to notify them you're there. After 3 rings and 5 minutes with no response I called them to let them know I was there. They finally came out, no apology just pushed the order thru the plastic and sign the receipt. Not even a thank you. I trust this rudeness was just the result of a bad day and not par for the course.“

“Sweet & Sour Chicken has the classic flavors, big portion of 14 pieces. Egg roll is large in size and delicious, with peanut butter flavor, included with the $10.75 price + a massive portion of pork fried rice is very tasty, easily 2 meals worth of food. Good crunch chicken batter and egg roll. Best quality and value for the price, I will order from them again, a new favorite.“

You can tell it was prepared with care, and the quality exceeded my expectations, especially given some of the mixed reviews.
