“If you come to Chicago, you need to find yiur way to Big Eds at 651 Lakehurst in Waukegan!!! This place stands on it's own 2 feet side by side with anyplace we've been in Fort Worth! Excellent brisket and pulled pork, and some of the best mashed potatoes and mac and cheese I've had outside of my own house!! Good stuff!“

“Absolutely Impressed at the taste, friendliness, & cleanliness of this restaurant. This was my first time trying mediterranean food but have to say Im absolutely impressed at the balance of all the ingredients and spices coming together to form such a beautiful pallet of light but flavorful aroma and taste NOT led by salt as many restaurants do, but then again Im not sure if that is exclusive to mediterranean. Entering the restaurant and being GENUINELY greeted so kindly was refreshing in this day & age. The lemon water with ice was such a tasteful touch to the experience that made me GLAD to dine in instead of take out that night, & influenced me to dine in after I came back the day after. Yes, It was that good I had to come back the day after. I ordered the chicken & beef shawarma not knowing what to expect. Im hispanic so when it arrived, seeing the pita cut up into triangle pieces, seeing the seasoned rice, juicy beef, chicken and grilled vegetables, I knew what had to be done and did exactly that by instinct. There is no understatement and even less exaggeration when I state that I will quite literally never forget my first bite of that pita with grilled vegetables, beef, chicken, rice, tajini & gyro sauce. The following sip of that lemon infused water quite literally cleansed my pallet and let me savor the following forkful of that yellow rice and grilled vegetables I just HAD to try on its own. The 3 sauces given to me during my time there gave the restaurant and its food a sense of solidarity, like It was almost a sin to eat without them. The server then gave me a small square of baklava to try near the end of my meal and I fell in love with this spot even more. Restaurants really don't do it like this anymore, and Im glad to have found a spot that still cares & provides to their customers at this caliber. Will be returning with the family for sure, fan of this place at first bite. Oh, I forgot to mention, I paid $15.01 for this experience, that should be more than enough convincing if you are on the fence about visiting here!“

“I did an order of 3 taco platters the morning of an event via messenger & it went incredibly. The communication was perfect throughout the day. The tacos were the best part of our event and each guest asked where the food was from - a huge success. Would definitely order from here again. “This is the second year I've ordered a pizza dinner for my autistic son's birthday; he lives in a home at a developmental center with other special needs men, about an hour away from me. It was so refreshing to be able to place the order easily and directly when other local pizza places wouldn't deliver to the Center or made it difficult and Door Dash, no help there! “Ive only been here once so take my review with a grain of salt but I have to say, this is one of those "food>environment" establishments where the heart and purpose is in the food. I had ordered the Kung Pao Chicken w/ Rice. I waited about 7-10 minutes in the lobby waiting for my food. I loved that my container was full to the top but do have to note that I wish the meat to rice ratio was a bit more balanced, but nonetheless, not enough to knock off a star. What I also did note that was different, was that my chicken was mixed in within my rice instead of how I've been accustomed to, which is receiving it in 2 separate portions. Which in no way is to be taken as a negative, I just thought It was different and gave the meal a sense of solidarity throughout the flavors which really let the sauces stand out and play their role really well. Going back to what I had said about the food slightly overshadowing the environment, I firmly believe that the food here is made with love as it seems to be family owned and operated, but I would love to see some improvements to the dining room and hospitality. But then again, I do understand that this is one of those 'in the cut" hidden gems that capitalize & rely on their faith in their good wholehearted food, which I do not blame at all. I definitely do see myself coming back and am excited to try out the rest of the items there. I give it 4 stars as I cannot in good faith give it 5 without trying their pepper steak or orange chicken but look more than forward to updating it in the future.“

“Love the tacos de lengua. For my non spanish speaking people. The tongue tacos. Compared to other places they are on point. They use the big 5 inch corn tortilla. And they slice the tongue instead of cutting it into little squares. For those of you that know it's better that way. The only reason I don't give 5 stars on the food is because they don't have a really hot or spicy salsa. Other then that it's a great place to go.“

“As we all should've learned by now, at the first time of hunger you should go seek food. Popular places take time to ensure a good meal. However, I made the mistake of ordering XL tips, with sauce on the side and didn't even get the second sauce I paid for. Never should I do this again, the meat was so dry and some had a crunchy texture. As a reminder ordering two smaller orders soaked in two different sauces. Just a helpful reminder besides pans, your choices are: 2XL, XL, L, S.
Standing room only, orders filled quickly, and take out only.
