“After a few hours at Volo Auto Museum we decided to explore the area and head over to the lake. Driving through Waukegan, we stopped into Papa Marcos Grill and Kabob.\n\nWhat a gem. We stepped up near the counter to read the menu and soon enough it was our turn to order. We started chatting with the owner's wife and she is so nice and so friendly. Offered recommendations and we settled on our choices. Fried mushrooms to start and I ordered the Vegetarian plate, with Falafel, rice stuffed grape leaves and rice. Mr. Bee had the lamb plate. The mushrooms were amazing, nice and crunchy without being greasy. Both of us loved our plates and the fresh naan bread. Our lunch even came with two small pieces of Baklava that was perfect. The best Baklava we ever had was actually in Greece and this one was right up there with it.\n\nThe food is fresh and light and delicious. From the front of the restaurant you don't expect much, but once inside you feel if you are stepping into Greece with excellent Mediterranean food.\n\nWhat a treasure!“

“Louie's is the best place to eat in Waukegan. Great Italian food, thin crust pizza, fried chicken and fish. Everything is great. They give you the best bread hot from the oven when you sit down. Huge bar. Family friendly. You can't go wrong at this place.“

“This is our favorite spot to eat for over 20 years. Food is excellent quality, the salads are as fresh as you get.
Parking on busy days (Sunday for example) is a bit hard to find but you pretty much can get a parking spot at any time.“

What really keeps me coming back, aside from the amazing food, is the environment and the staff. I especially want to highlight two of the waitresses who always go above and beyond – Roshell and Gabby. They’re both incredibly attentive and detail-oriented, always making sure everything is perfect and that I have everything I need without even having to ask. Their service truly makes each visit special.

“Best tacos in all of Lake County. Any people who leave bad reviews just don’t understand what a local Taqueria does. This place is hands-down the best place for ceviche and any other seafood cocktail. The tacos are a delicacy of Waukegan! I drive 45 minutes from the city just to get their delicious Micheladas.“

“I was at the Genesee theater, watching “The Nutcracker” and after the show ended, I decided to get a bite somewhere nearby. that’s when I stumbled upon China Garden Restaurant! luckily there was no line they took my order within seconds and the food came out within minutes. The lady who took my order was very nice and patient with me since it was my first time there. It was really delicious!!!! I had number #10 - the chicken and broccoli (pictured below) .“

“Today's wings hands down was some the best cooked wings I've from here. I been here plenty of time since it opened but today's wings hit different fresh, crispy, full of sauce not greasy or oily like other times before. Who ever new tall guy cooking back there keep him! Also the fries were nice n crispy too no soggy fries fyi!“

“Half price pizza night and overall great food and service make them a go to when we want pizza. The lunch buffet is another great option as well. Well several years later the half price Wednesday's are gone but the pricing is still below the other local pizza places for a deep dish pizza. “Went to eat at IHOP tonight. The man who seated us was great and we got a good seat. The menu had pictures of some of the food items and the Steak Omelette looked great on the menu so I ordered one. For the first time, in the history of time, my omelette looked better on my plate than the menu picture. It was huge and filled to the brim with fresh ingredients and steak. The waitress was awesome. I was very pleasantly impressed. I will be going back.“
