“Wow! We had the best time yesterday at Crave Cookie Lombard! My two children wanted to try it out so we went in. First impressions, it’s very clean and welcoming! We tried the Dubai strawberry cup, the cookie milk shake and a loaded soda! All were very delicious. It was the best loaded soda I’ve ever had! Our host the owner’s niece took the extra time to talk with us and told us a little bit about the family business. She even gave us free samples of warm chocolate chip cookies! They were so yummy! We will be supporting this lovely business and will be back!“

But for real, everything I have had from them from savory to sweet has been absolutely fantastic, and I am not easy to please when it comes to baked goods. “Yesterday I took the Sourdough Breadmaking Class with Chef George at The Ancestral Oven and I just pulled an amazing loaf of bread out of my home oven 24 hours later! Chef George provided all the necessary instruction and supplies - including a lively starter - for students to start their own sourdough journey at home. The class included hands-on experience feeding the starter, as well as folding and shaping the dough. I had a great time at the class and can't wait to return to try out the breakfast and lunch menu at The Ancestral Oven Bakery and Cafe.“

“So today I had a friend in from out of town and we topped off our afternoon with a visit to Miski Bakery. I was dying to try the alfajores, and they did not disappoint! The very delicate morsels melted in our mouth, and the creamy luscious dollop of dulce de leche caramel was a perfect pairing. In addition we tried the Milhojas/Napoleons in two flavors the Lucuma pastry creme and also the dulce de leche. A thousand layers is correct, these were amazingly tall, crispy and filled with air, both were delicious but the Lucuma(a Peruvian fruit) pastry creme was the standout. It had such a delightful delicate flavor I had never tasted previously. After speaking with Carmen the owner I asked whether or not they ever carried Turrón de doñja Pepa. She just happened to have some freshly baked sitting on the tray behind the counter, but alas it was still awaiting its filling. This gives me a great reason to return and indulge in that special treat. It is prepared every other week. The service was warm and friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood you shouldn't miss out on. I will be returning often.“

I ordered a cake for a med school graduation that looked like a doc white coat and she knocked it out of the park! “I live on the East Coast with family in the area so I am in a few times a year. This is one place I insist on going every time. The donuts are truly amazing, think the early days of Krispy Kreme, light and fluffy then this place picks it up considerably. This time I had a Pineapple donut, which I did not know was a thing, it was so good it hurt Two pieces of advice for visitors.
1. However many you get be prepared to eat them all.
2. For those giving stupid 1 star reviews because they felt like a donut at noon, can't blame you but still, understanding the perishable food industry would help. They just can't keep making donuts all day since they don't carry over well at all. Get out of the rack and go get these delicious donuts in the early AM as nature intended.
To the owners, great job, perhaps change the posted hours to reflect you close when sold out, which occurs daily. That would help satisfy the 1 PM donut eaters who will just need to get moving.“

“Our family absolutely loves Bb's donuts! We do miss being able to go inside the donut shop. So many wonderful memories taking our little girl there to eat donuts and read a book or two. We have a little boy with Autism and it's not safe for him to sit in front by the busy street because he runs. Wish we could go inside to enjoy donuts & coffee knowing it's something our son would truly enjoy.“
