“I live in the area but never had the chance to try Jay’s food. This is my second time going to Jay’s Wok and I must recognize that their food is tasty, not too salty, rice consistency great not smoosh or overcooked, vegetables are not overcooked as other places. Portion is perfect and price affordable. Is hard to find a good Chinese restaurant that I can order when in the appetite is for Chinese food. I am glad Jay’s Wok is nearby and I am proud to support local businesses of hard working individuals as this couple.“

I don’t know if Giordano’s is THE best Chicago has to offer, but it was my first official dive into deep dish.

And look… I enjoyed it. The sauce was nice, the cheese was EXTRAAAA, and the crust was flaky, tender, and actually really damn good.

But is this pizza? 😂 I mean… this thing needed a fork, knife, structural engineering, and about 45 minutes of recovery time afterward.

Give me a greasy NY slice I can fold in half and destroy standing on a sidewalk any day of the week.

That said… when in Rome or Chicago you gotta respect the local religion. Deep dish ain’t replacing NY pizza for me, but I’m glad I finally tried it.

“What a great experience! I placed a delivery order for chocolate cake and cherry vanilla bean cheesecake. I received an email that they were out of the cheesecake and received a refund. “So today I had a friend in from out of town and we topped off our afternoon with a visit to Miski Bakery. I was dying to try the alfajores, and they did not disappoint! The very delicate morsels melted in our mouth, and the creamy luscious dollop of dulce de leche caramel was a perfect pairing. In addition we tried the Milhojas/Napoleons in two flavors the Lucuma pastry creme and also the dulce de leche. A thousand layers is correct, these were amazingly tall, crispy and filled with air, both were delicious but the Lucuma(a Peruvian fruit) pastry creme was the standout. It had such a delightful delicate flavor I had never tasted previously. After speaking with Carmen the owner I asked whether or not they ever carried Turrón de doñja Pepa. She just happened to have some freshly baked sitting on the tray behind the counter, but alas it was still awaiting its filling. This gives me a great reason to return and indulge in that special treat. It is prepared every other week. The service was warm and friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood you shouldn't miss out on. I will be returning often.“

“Ok ordered there twice in the past week again. Tried something new this time, romaine, chicken, broccoli, eggs and cheese and just as good as the bowl i get with purple rice, chicken and broccoli. “Great atmosphere and great food and drinks. We came here for my friend’s birthday and John M was an excellent server! The mozzarella is EXCELLENT! It was in the caprese and the risotto and was probably our absolute favorite part of each dish. The gnocchi has a great homemade flavor and has a very flavorful sauce! Branzino is also very yummy! The espresso martini, green goddess, and luccacello martini are excellent as well. The crudo was also incredible and very fresh. 10/10 recommend for a nice dinner with fun live music!“

Ordered a bunch of gluten free food as my wife has celiac and we couldn't believe the quality - you would never know it's not gluten! “Bar and liquor store combo with a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a great selection of whiskey and beer.

We had our rehearsal dinner there, and it was exactly what we wanted. Very much our style. Saved us a bunch of money doing it there vs our other options. And the nice thing was that we were able to cater whatever food we wanted there.

We also got the spirits for our wedding through them. They had the best prices from everything we vetted, and we were able to return all the unopened bottles that were leftover after the event.

They cary standard items that are gluten free (GF), daily free (DF), vegan (V), and nut free (NF). “Everything was homemade from scratch and absolutely delicious. The inside is so beautifully decorated. The owner Megan is so sweet. She really does put her all into the food. There is such a beautiful backstory as to how her business came about. We tried the fusions and our favs were Da beef (this is an Italian beef inspired tamale), Tropicante Bustamante (this is a Jerk sauced inspired tamale) we also loved the classics Green Guadalupe and the Angel Amy. There are vegan options. We tried the strawberry and coconut Italian ice both were amazing and made from scratch.“
