“So today I had a friend in from out of town and we topped off our afternoon with a visit to Miski Bakery. I was dying to try the alfajores, and they did not disappoint! The very delicate morsels melted in our mouth, and the creamy luscious dollop of dulce de leche caramel was a perfect pairing. In addition we tried the Milhojas/Napoleons in two flavors the Lucuma pastry creme and also the dulce de leche. A thousand layers is correct, these were amazingly tall, crispy and filled with air, both were delicious but the Lucuma(a Peruvian fruit) pastry creme was the standout. It had such a delightful delicate flavor I had never tasted previously. After speaking with Carmen the owner I asked whether or not they ever carried Turrón de doñja Pepa. She just happened to have some freshly baked sitting on the tray behind the counter, but alas it was still awaiting its filling. This gives me a great reason to return and indulge in that special treat. It is prepared every other week. The service was warm and friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood you shouldn't miss out on. I will be returning often.“

The food is very authentic in the best way it feels like there’s a grandma in the back making all the food that just relocated from Greece to Chicago. something I didn’t really know was this is a very regional area of Greece that borders Turkey so there’s some unique flavor profiles that you don’t get at a standard Greek place which I really appreciated. We got the eggplant spread, which I’m usually not the biggest fan of eggplant and I really enjoyed it. It had some smokiness. It had some freshness from the balsamic vinaigrette and maybe like an herb, as well as a little punch of lemon very delicious. We also got the fried cauliflower that had a delicious whipped feta dip and The leak wrapped Filo dough pastry, which was very very good. As an entrée we got the duck gyro and it was some of the most unique yet delicious food I've had in awhile. Service was excellent. Also, you know you’re in for a good time when the menus are laminated yet the ambience is very curated. It feels like homey family run resturnat but by people care. i’ll definitely be coming back and be telling friends about this place.“
