“I've seen this place for years, and never seen them busy. When I came in I had to wait to get service as there was only one person working (Saturday evening.) But I was not in any hurry, as I was looking for some good barbeque at a reasonable price. I was NOT disappointed!! The flavor was awesome, the ribs were fantastic, I even enjoyed the fries and the baked beans!
It is an older building and not extremely easy to find. They don't have the staff to serve lots of people, but the food is definitely worth eating if you love Barbeque!!
If you are in a hurry, you will not want to come here.
If you are looking for a fancy place to eat, you should take it home.

“The food always hits the mark here. I know it’s a chain, but it’s the best barbecue we’ve found in the area. All aspects are what you’d expect from American barbecue from the brisket, the sweet tea, the rotating black plate special, and desserts. When they have cobblers, we’d go just to get cobblers. At some Mission BBQs, the cornbread tastes like how Payless used to smell, but this place does not. The atmosphere can be intimidating for someone that associates patriotism with partisanship, but they are purely service themed and non-partisan, just steer clear around noon if you have scar tissue from being caught outside on base at 0800.“

“My friend and I stopped in at Firewater BBQ in Elmhurst on Thursday Dec. 1st for the "Granny's Lunch Box Special" which is available daily from 11AM-2PM. This was my second visit and my friend's first at Firewater. We both ordered the Angus beef brisket sandwich with a side of 3 cheese Mac & Cheese and a soda. The brisket (smoked for 22 hrs) is amazingly tender and flavorful. It was piled high on a toasted brioche bun and is served with your choice of sweet or spicy BBQ sauce or both if you like. The Mac & Cheese is sooo silky-smooth and creamy and compliments the brisket quite well. There are complimentary pickled jalapeños and sweet & spicy pickles available as well. My friend was so impressed by this amazing brisket that he placed another exact order to go to bring home. The cashier who also took our order was very friendly and polite. We told one of the chefs, Shawn, (pictured) that we really enjoyed the brisket and complimented his skills. My friend and I will both be returning to Firewater BBQ and we'll definitely be letting our family and friends know about this wonderful BBQ spot.“

“We have catered holiday meals from various different restaurants and they all have been good- but yesterday’s Thanksgiving turkey was the best we have ever had. Everyone agreed - everything was great, but typically a few of us don’t care much for actual turkey but yesterday was an exception. Thank you!“

“The menu is extensive, food is freshly made and delicious and the soups are better than any restaurant soup I have ever had.... I have to admit, I am "addicted" to the soups, primarily the Baked Potato Soup. I could eat that every day. I am what one would call "a regular" thru the drive thru for most often, the soup, however, the salads and variety that they offer are plentiful and again, delicious.... “Driving past and saw that this was opening I am assuming it is the karate boys from Canada. I tried it there a few weeks ago. I’m hoping just just as great here.
The only tip I would give the restaurant is the Naans weren’t that great they weren’t like true Naans and secondly, I think Canadian Indian food is second best in the world after England so no slight on the Indian food here but it’s nowhere near the standard. I am looking forward to trying this place eventually when it opens and read reviews are based on food, service, ambience and quality.“

“I have visited the restaurant in person and have always been pleased. But I wanted to give a shoutout for the catering order I placed for a holiday party for the apartment community I manage. The food was delivered on time, hot, packaged extremely well, nothing was missed. The girl who delivered it was so helpful she was even helped set up some trays as we were figuring out placement. The food was also delicious, we ordered ribs, chicken, pasta, and Greek potatoes. We will definitely order again! Thank you!“

“This was a welcome surprise. My family and I would frequent the location in Bolingbrook when it was around. After they closed we figured no other locations would be near us. We happened to be in the area yesterday and saw this location pop up in maps while searching for someplace to eat. As indicated this location is carry out only. We placed the order online and it was actually ready a few minutes before the time given. The staff that we interacted with were friendly. I gave the atmosphere a 5 even though it was carry out only but the restaurant it was in looked 5 star. I was going to complain about the pricing but we were actually pleased with the amount of food we got for the price point. I gave a 4 for the food because while the ribs were excellent the chicken was mushy and sides were fair but not great and I remember the mac n cheese being more palatable than what we got. I would definitely order from here again but not include the chicken in that order.“

“Not only have I loved Hawthornes from when I was a kid growing up in West Chicago! It was the PERFECT place to have my wedding. Lou, Heidi and Kelly did fantastic and helped make my dream come alive! Every question I had they answered and were able to accommodate so much! Heidi was in CONSTANT communication with me and was able to give advice and help me through the whole process. Her suggestions were so helpful and she helped during the ceremony and reception. I could not have done it without them. This place treats you like family and has amazing service! When my husband and I went to pick up our things the next morning we were planning on taking 2 trips and Lou let us borrow his truck that is how amazing and friendly they are! WE LOVE YOU HAWTHORNES! “Tribute in Villa Park is the coziest, quirky little night spot around! Tribute is not way off the beaten path located across the street from the Villa Park Historical museum and the Illinois Prairie Path.

When you're inside Tribute you just feel at home and you get a neighborly backyard party kind of feeling.

The staff is super friendly and they have a fun trivia night on Wednesdays.

There's a spacious outdoor patio and a cozy banquet/ meeting room with floor to ceiling windows that makes you feel like your outdoors.

“My first visit to Char Kabobs was excellent! I wasn’t sure what to order because I’m not (yet!) super familiar with the cuisine. The chef? recommended the Chicken Boti wrap and it was delicious! I’d asked for it spicy and it had the perfect amount of heat for me. Freshly prepared, flavorful tender chicken, lots of onions, just the right amount of lettuce and delicious sauce all wrapped up in fresh flat bread. I will definitely be back to try more items!
