“Carlson’s Drive In, Michigan City Indiana (I came specifically to order the Italian Beef and the pork tenderloin sandwich)
The beef was decent, but they don’t have the ability to offer it dipped. They don’t have true spicy peppers, but rather a pepper that they threw on top of the sandwich. OK in a pinch if you’re looking for general flavoring Italian Beef, but that particular dish is just not their thing.
The pork tenderloin sandwich looks pretty good and it was pretty tasty for a fritter. Decently moist and crisp, with a restaurant atmosphere that contributes to the dining experience.“

“We absolutely love Culver’s! It’s one of those places that never disappoints and always feels like such a treat when we stop in. Whether we’re going for a full meal or just grabbing dessert, it’s become a family favorite and a spot we all look forward to visiting. There’s something about the whole experience—the food, the atmosphere, the service—that makes it stand out from other places.
The ButterBurgers are always fresh, juicy, and made just the way you want them. They never taste rushed or thrown together, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. The sides are just as good—crinkle-cut fries, cheese curds, onion rings—you name it, everything is delicious and satisfying. It’s comfort food done right, with portions that actually leave you feeling full.
Of course, the custard is what really makes Culver’s special for us. It’s rich, creamy, and perfectly smooth—way better than your typical ice cream. We love that they rotate their “Flavor of the Day,” because it makes every visit a little different and exciting. You never know what flavor you’ll get to try, and it keeps things from ever feeling repetitive. It’s fun for the kids (and honestly for us adults, too!) to check the board and see what’s new.
On top of the great food, the service is always wonderful. Every time we’ve gone, the staff have been friendly, polite, and quick to help. They’re patient even when things get busy, and you can tell they care about giving good customer service. It’s not just the food that makes us come back—it’s how welcome we feel while we’re there.
Culver’s really strikes that perfect balance: it’s casual enough to be an easy family spot, but the food and service make it feel like you’re getting more than just a quick meal. It’s affordable, consistent, and always leaves us with happy memories. For us, Culver’s is more than just a place to eat—it’s a family tradition. 😊“

“Food is very good and price is very fair. Service is very sub par. Waitresses run around like chickens with there head cutoff. I did a reorder on fish and after 45 minutes the waitress said she was sorry but somebody else took my order. Paid my check and left. Don’t know if I will ever come back.“

“Truly AWESOME catfish! It was perfectly fried, nicely seasoned, moist, and the breading (crust?) was top notch. I must say that, for me, this is the best catfish I have had in Northwest Indiana. They are also serving a very good coleslaw. I don't easily find good coleslaw and this ranks way up on my list of sources. This was my first visit and will definitely return.“

“What a fantastic job hosting the VIP Fireworks party. We were impressed with the organization of the whole event. The assigned seating was a great idea & kudos to your staff for adhering to the seating chart. The music was good, the food was freshly made & our server was fantastic!! Thank you to Sunset Grillle. We had so much fun we may make it a yearly tradition.“

“Today we stopped in to hangout and eat after Sketching the wonderful homes on Beverly Shore. 1st the staff was amazing in accommodations for our group. Dawn was super awesome with us. Then the foooood.. Oh my goodness. It was delicious and very well presented. Thank you to everyone and you'll be seeing us all back again soon.“
