“Home of the OG smash burgers. This is your classic Schoops. If you haven't been, shame on you. Anyway, it's an old school burger joint. They have green river if that is your thing. I can say that the Mickey I had here on my last visit was the best Mickey I have ever had. The service is with a smile and attentive. The soups rotate. If beef and barely is available the day you are there, get it. The Irish nachos are the bomb.“

“Talk about a restaurant that gives you that feeds you warm and cozy food but make you feel so warm and cozy from the service as well...ANGIES IS IT!!! This is a MUST GO TO PLACE!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE there is absolutely nothing on the menu that I haven't tried that just isn't DELICIOUS!!! From the time you walk in until the time you leave this is a resturant that gets that A++++ rating!!! Go check it out for yourself!!! P.S. The chicken n waffles are AMAZING!!!“

“This was my 3rd experience and I usually carryout. This time we decided to dine in. The pancakes and grits are definitely worth the drive. The salmon cakes are one item you want to get while you're there. Despite having great and affordable food, the dining area and dead insects in the window sills need to be addressed. Can't wait to continue the support.“

“Went to the Valpo location this morning and brought my mom along. Was a first time for the both of us. While the food was good, service was excellent, however, I ordered the meat lover this morning which was 3 scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, hash browns and sausage. The only complaint I have was the eggs. While they were good, it was only like 1.5 eggs. did not seem like 3. Thats my only complaint. Thought about ordering a side of eggs to make up for it, but decided against it. Other than that, it was delicious. I will be back for sure.“

“The upstairs bartender, Aaron C. does the work of 2 bartenders. I sat at the bar...he served me my lunch. He was very friendly and fast. The upstairs was loaded with like 50 guests from a baseball team? So he was VERY busy. But that didn't stop him from speed, accuracy and friendliness! Best bartender ! He deserves a raise!“

“Disappointing..the chili/koney sauce was very salty to the point it was nesrly inedible. ..I think since it was late afternoon, it simmered to the point where it became concentrated due to evaporation and it needed some liquid to even out the extreme salt content... the dogs were good, the chili cheeseburger was almost impossible to eat..so messy. Fries were.probably the highlight of my visit the lady behind the counter was excellent though 👍👍 Great service I probably would try them again though....possibly the saltiness was an anomaly“

“Flamingos has been in town for a long time. Nice little cozy place. A good perch dinner. We like a thin crust pepperoni pizza. The flavor of the pizza dough reminds me of Onos which was one of the Best pizza places, that has a Great flavor to it that you can not find anywhere. The cheese is stretchy when hot. Good flavor! Thumbs up?for Flamingos!“

“Call it Dante’s, call it Gators. This place is a legacy to the area. The bartenders are experienced and their personalities are the best! Shout out to Cheryle and Wade. From the chicken family pack to the pizza, Gators food is excellent as well. If a band is playing on the weekend, this place will be busy and you are sure to have a fun time. 😁“

“I typically do not post food reviews on these pages, but my visit to Depot Hot Dogs was exceptional. Last night, I sampled their newest menu item, Loaded Bacon and Cheese Fries, which were remarkable. The fries were cooked to perfection, with an ideal balance of ranch and cheese, accompanied by outstanding bacon. I appreciate the family-run aspect of the business. For authentic Chicago flavors, including beef hot dogs and Italian Beefs, Depot Hot Dogs is a recommended destination. They also offer items for dogs. Their support for the Humane Society is commendable, demonstrating consideration for both customers and their pets. While new menu items are available, their exceptional bacon cheese fries stand out. “The food was phenomenal! I love Reubens and was excited to try theirs. Smokey and full of flavor, the smoke on it was just the right amount and meat was fall apart tender and not fatty at all. The peach sangria was the best white sangria I’ve had in a long time, not too sweet with a bit of citrus, my only regret was not ordering the bottle because it was 1/2 price bottles! Our server was very attentive, offering us suggestions and options when needed and checked in frequently to make sure we were ok. ( the kind of service you’d like but very rarely get anywhere anymore) Overall 10/10 and will definitely be back- Kids were happy with the kids menu, all the usuals were available“
