“Locally owned restaurant and bar that caters to the local crowd. Food is very good with daily specials. Personal favorites are the soups and chicken wings. All the food I've had has been good and we visit weekly. The place serves pizza, and it is good, but pizza is definitely a personal decision. Staff is friendly and accommodating. A place worth visiting if you haven't already.“

“Came in and the place was completely empty, sign said "seat yourselves" it felt kind of awkward but someone came out to greet us a few seconds later. Staff was super friendly and nice! I brought my grandmother and she wanted to split her meal with someone who wasn't able to come to the restaurant in person, so they brought out half of her meal and waited until we were almost done with the other half freshly made and packaged! Lake perch was great! Not like other restaurants that try to serve ocean perch as lake perch. The Nashville hot chicken strips were a little disappointing they didn't have any heat to them, but the chicken was cooked perfectly and the breading was really good so it made up for it! Mac n cheese was delicious, I was even impressed with the fries! None of them were soggy or over salted! I'm sad I couldn't have tried them sooner!“

“I called to ask about having a birthday party on short notice for my son’s 30th and during the holiday weekend and received a call from the owner letting me know it wouldn’t be a problem at all! I could bring my own food and decorate and he would have a DJ for the night. All the staff were very helpful and accommodating for anything we needed! Service was exceptional at the bar! My family and friends complimented the establishment as soon as they walked in the doors. We look forward to future gatherings or parties here for sure! It was a wonderful evening had by all!“

“Haven't ate there in YEARS!!!!BUT did today and it was awesome....EVERYTHING we had was great, potato soup IS the best EVER!!!! Had that and breaded veal senior meal AND the beef hot plate senior meal and was awesome AND the service from the hostess, requested a specific seat/booth with the best lighting to see better and was accommodated with a smile and waitress was awesome!!! Definitely WILL be back again and often.“

“Celebrated a friends birthday there last night and had an amazing dinner! The entrée of braised short ribs melted in my mouth and banoffee pie could not be beat for dessert!“

“The first thing I'll say is that the customer service was awesome!!! We had the fish and chips and the classic American cheeseburger. The food was really good. We really liked the atmosphere and you can hear the game loud and clear on the flat screens. I can say we will be back!“

The Pineapple Habanero Wings were a solid 10/10. They also have the coldest Draft Beers I've ever had so that's definitely a plus. The atmosphere was comfortable. She is very familiar with event hosting and has a solid understanding of the wedding industry. It was a pleasure to work with Dani for her reliable communication, attention to detail, and professional coordination of vendors and reception timeline. Dani respected our floor plan design so the seating arrangement was exactly what we envisioned for our wedding. There was ample seating and space for our DJ, photo booth, dessert table and a gifts table. Our guests especially loved the food and the open bar. Overall, we were pleased with the entire server staff of The Emerald Green. If you are interested in a beautiful venue to host your next event, we recommend this!“

“This was my 3rd experience and I usually carryout. This time we decided to dine in. The pancakes and grits are definitely worth the drive. The salmon cakes are one item you want to get while you're there. Despite having great and affordable food, the dining area and dead insects in the window sills need to be addressed. Can't wait to continue the support.“

“well I'm really torn on if I should recommend or not... most of the time the food is fine but when it comes to fundraisers they are really really horrid. let's put a box out and not put anything on the box so the majority of the people have no idea about tossing their receipts in there for a cause... im pretty sure they make enough money where they can put something on the boxes for the customers... if they are so scared about losing money don't even bother... yesterday I was there around 4 and not one person threw a receipt in the box.. I was the first.... second fundraiser and second time unless you already knew, had no idea about it.. .“

“Went to the Valpo location this morning and brought my mom along. Was a first time for the both of us. While the food was good, service was excellent, however, I ordered the meat lover this morning which was 3 scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, hash browns and sausage. The only complaint I have was the eggs. While they were good, it was only like 1.5 eggs. did not seem like 3. Thats my only complaint. Thought about ordering a side of eggs to make up for it, but decided against it. Other than that, it was delicious. I will be back for sure.“

“Disappointing..the chili/koney sauce was very salty to the point it was nesrly inedible. ..I think since it was late afternoon, it simmered to the point where it became concentrated due to evaporation and it needed some liquid to even out the extreme salt content... the dogs were good, the chili cheeseburger was almost impossible to eat..so messy. Fries were.probably the highlight of my visit the lady behind the counter was excellent though 👍👍 Great service I probably would try them again though....possibly the saltiness was an anomaly“

“I had heard they had prime rib tacos, I have never had prime rib tacos. I guess you can only get them on Wednesday so I called and ordered carry out. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The taco itself was absolutely delicious! So savory and moist. I am glad I ordered 3 of them. I will 100% be going back.“

“Our first visit to this steakhouse was exceptional from start to finish. The hostesses were warm and welcoming, and we appreciated being able to choose our preferred seating.
Our server, Melissa, was friendly, knowledgeable, and her recommendations were excellent. Most of all she was thoughtful. When she saw my camera come out she offered to take pictures and after I told her I wasn’t going to order a cocktail due to a headache, she checked in on it later on. She made for a great experience.
The Chilean sea bass was perfectly cooked with a delicate texture and delicious sweet sauce, while the ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium and was juicy, tender, and full of flavor.
Chef Arthur stopped by our table and we were able to personally compliment him on the incredible lobster and shrimp dumpling appetizer, which was absolutely delicious.
The combination of exceptional service, outstanding food, and genuine hospitality made for a memorable evening. We look forward to returning and trying other dishes although it’ll be hard not to order the Chilean sea bass and ribeye again because they were that good!“

“Visiting the area and family wanted us to try their brews as one of their favorites. Tried a flight of 10 beers and favs were Tangerine Trackstar, Toxic Words, Lucifer in a haze, Immoveable King, Nuban overlord and the top one Here comes the reaper. We also had the Pretzel and queso for snacks. They were very good and fast. They also had ice tea which is not always available at breweries. I will say the art work gave me pause and some of the names being a Christian but I don't know the background to comment.“

“We always love the food from Cracker Barrel. This last visit was unfortunately not very good. We had to continuously ask for syrup for the pancakes and then when they brought them, they brought the wrong kind as we needed sugar-free by the time they did get it to us pancakes were a little bit better than lukewarm. The eggs were not cooked the way we had asked. The service was very slow and although all this sounds bad, we will of course be going back because most of the time it’s good service and good food. We were at the Cracker Barrel in Merrillville, Indiana.“
