“I usually don't do reviews. In this case, I feel I should. I live in the Noblesville district and work on the west side of Indianapolis. I've tried quite a few Chinese food restaurants. Not one of them comes close to my food experience at China Wok in Fishers!. I was completely satisfied with the food! The shrimp fried rice was beautiful, to say the least! Full of vegetables, shrimp, and flavor. The color was what I expected for my fried rice. The shrimp egg fu yung was nice and thick! No crusty edges. Most of all, the gravy was just as I remember eating at the Chinese restaurants I loved in my hometown of Portland, Oregon! It was brown and creaming looking. The flavor was so good! It's not that dark, transparent gravy that most Chinese restaurants that I have experienced so far here in Indiana. Thank you, China Wok, for such a great meal! I will be back soon! Keep up the good work.“

“Ordered a quart of sweet n sour tempura chicken via DoorDash.Order was ready at 10:21 it was delivered around 11.The chicken was crispy, light, good tasting but not overwhelming allowing the sauce to shine.I can only imagine how insanely good the sweet n sour chicken is right after it’s made and it’s fresh. It was fantastic 40 minutes after.This place is worth a try!“

“This place is a Fishers institution, my family has been going here since the first week they opened, and not much has changed in nearly 2 1/2 decades. One small buffet line means that everything stays fresh and consistent, which is a big plus even if you’re someone who normally wants more variety. Their famous crab rangoons are still the best I’ve had anywhere.“

“Their crab rangoons are very delicious and flavorful. The scallops are my favorite along with the beef and vegetable with rice. The portions are quite large even for a medium. They definitely don't skimp on anything. If you ask for extra meat they will definitely give you extra meat especially extra vegetables when you ask. It's a small restaurant with barely anywhere to sit so take out is quite popular. Don't be afraid of the area that it's located in even though it looks sketchy. 10/10 Chinese restaurant.“

“This is our go to place on the north side. The kids love the steamed dumplings and chow mei fun. We order delivery and they are always pretty quick and friendly at the drop off. Oh and their fried biscuits with cinnamon and sugar are the best for a little after dinner treat.“

We placed an order for 2 soups and a lunch special , the total came out to about $15 for 2 people . After we sat down the food came out not even 5 minutes later . I only live a few blocks from the restaurant, so everything was delivered piping hot and as tasty as it was the last time I had it and still at a pretty reasonable price compared to most other restaurants!! “This place is really a hidden gem up here in Broad Ripple. It's a shame that the most recent Local Guide review is so negative -- that couldn't be further from my experience. If you don't read the rest of my diatribe -- do yourself a favor and go here if you crave some classic Chinese dishes done immaculately.

In general, you can't ask much more from a chinese joint in Indiana. While the food did take a bit to prepare (pretty sure only two people were in the kitchen the day I came in), it was worth it with perfectly cooked chicken (in both non-fried form in the Bourbon Chicken and in the General Tso), tender but still slightly crispy vegetables in the Black Pepper Chicken and Vegetable Chow Mein and (in this gwailou's opinion) immaculately cooked rice. All the flavors were exactly where I'd want them to be, not too salty and, even for the notoriously sweet Bourbon Chicken and General Tso, not cloying.
Not to mention, the crab rangoon here are downright textbook. If, you prefer a more sweet crab rangoon to the more savory version you sometimes find with chive or scallion inside (oh, and I do), you can't get much better than here.

Also, if, like myself, you find yourself strangely at home in Chinese-American restaurants, this is an encyclopedic representation of one, complete with CRT television, Shen Yun posters, and other paraphernalia that even the most seasoned NASCAR afficionado could recognize as "probably chinese". Seriously, it was worth going just for the nostalgia alone.

In fact, "old school" is generally how I'd describe this place--which is probably what endears me so much about it. Amazing quality food of good portions at reasonable prices from a place with nostalgic decor -- what else could you possibly ask for? I know what I could ask for -- more patronage to this place! Seriously, don't miss out.“

“The food is good and they provide a generous portion for the low price. The facility isn’t much to look at, but you’re not living there so it’s not that bad. “Whenever I go to a new Chinese restaurant the first think I look for is fried scallops. You'd be surprised how hard they can be to find. They have them and they're delicious. The woman who answers the phone and is usually present when I pick up my order is very friendly. Orders have always been correct and fast. I have tried all my favorites: shrimp with lobster sauce; chicken chow mein; steamed dumplings; pork egg roll; roast pork lo mein; chicken w/ broccoli; egg drop wonton soup; pork fried rice. Everything has great flavor without being overly salty, and tastes fresh. I love how some of the vegetables are soft in the chicken chow mein, yet other veggies are still crunchy. “We arrived to get take out 40 mins before closing. The host that met us at the door was so engaging and friendly. We love Chinese food but never having Vietnamese we were intrigued by the options.
We randomly just picked two entrees and they were both delicious. Catfish and eggplant with fried rice and grilled shrimp over steamed rice with salad. Fried wontons as the appetizer.
The host chatted with us while we waited.

“No complaints about the food, it was what you would expect. The person taking orders was distracted, it seems he just wanted to hand off to go orders. I don't take food back to work, I enjoy a break. I said my order was to eat there, I got it in a bag, no napkins or plasticware. They had plastic wear available, kid sized forks, ridiculous. Never could get a napkin. Too bad, it could have been a good lunch spot. They have a decent seating area.“

“Ordered online for Christmas dinner. Took about an hour from placing the order to pickup, but so worth the wait. The gyoza/pot stickers had the most amazing dipping sauce. All the other food was perfect and as expected. We crushed the sweet and sour chicken, the egg rolls, fried rice etc. The cashew shrimp was great. I got some spicy beef that could have been spicier but was still tasty. We order sweet and sour chicken here probably once a month-ish and it's always great... And the kids eat it which is nice.“

“Normally I love Panda express, mainly for their quality entrees and delicious chow mein, but this location does not serve Chow Mein. They serve vegetables (mostly cabbage), with some chow mein noodles mixed in. Go inside and ask them to shake out the vegetables if your ordering the chow mein.

Notified mgmt, and they took care of, noticed next time the chow mein had a normal amount of vegetables in it, so updated review to 4 stars.“

“I ordered bourbon chicken, sweet & sour chicken as well as 3 additional egg rolls. The food was all so delicious, fresh & hot, it was definitely worth the price in my opinion. I read some reviews criticizing the price and portions, however, I think everything is reasonably priced for the quality and taste of everything. My total was $31 for everything I ordered which I feel is quite average for take out nowadays, inflation has affected everything; especially restaurants that use fresh & quality ingredients. The staff was courteous and friendly, restaurant is very easy to get to as well! I highly recommend if you’re thinking of ordering from here!“

I watched a little Asian lady take the orders of a heavy line of people, never asked for tips, never complained, had a good attitude and kept up with the heavy flow of people.
