“Came in and the place was completely empty, sign said "seat yourselves" it felt kind of awkward but someone came out to greet us a few seconds later. Staff was super friendly and nice! I brought my grandmother and she wanted to split her meal with someone who wasn't able to come to the restaurant in person, so they brought out half of her meal and waited until we were almost done with the other half freshly made and packaged! Lake perch was great! Not like other restaurants that try to serve ocean perch as lake perch. The Nashville hot chicken strips were a little disappointing they didn't have any heat to them, but the chicken was cooked perfectly and the breading was really good so it made up for it! Mac n cheese was delicious, I was even impressed with the fries! None of them were soggy or over salted! I'm sad I couldn't have tried them sooner!“

“I called to ask about having a birthday party on short notice for my son’s 30th and during the holiday weekend and received a call from the owner letting me know it wouldn’t be a problem at all! I could bring my own food and decorate and he would have a DJ for the night. All the staff were very helpful and accommodating for anything we needed! Service was exceptional at the bar! My family and friends complimented the establishment as soon as they walked in the doors. We look forward to future gatherings or parties here for sure! It was a wonderful evening had by all!“

“Haven't ate there in YEARS!!!!BUT did today and it was awesome....EVERYTHING we had was great, potato soup IS the best EVER!!!! Had that and breaded veal senior meal AND the beef hot plate senior meal and was awesome AND the service from the hostess, requested a specific seat/booth with the best lighting to see better and was accommodated with a smile and waitress was awesome!!! Definitely WILL be back again and often.“

He’s very attentive to his guests, answers whatever questions you have, very knowledgeable, and fun in a bag. He makes sure that you are having a great time! We will be back because of him! Stumbled on this eatery a few years ago while traveling from Kentucky to IL and it has become a staple and traditional visit. “Talk about a restaurant that gives you that feeds you warm and cozy food but make you feel so warm and cozy from the service as well...ANGIES IS IT!!! This is a MUST GO TO PLACE!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE there is absolutely nothing on the menu that I haven't tried that just isn't DELICIOUS!!! From the time you walk in until the time you leave this is a resturant that gets that A++++ rating!!! Go check it out for yourself!!! P.S. The chicken n waffles are AMAZING!!!“

“well I'm really torn on if I should recommend or not... most of the time the food is fine but when it comes to fundraisers they are really really horrid. let's put a box out and not put anything on the box so the majority of the people have no idea about tossing their receipts in there for a cause... im pretty sure they make enough money where they can put something on the boxes for the customers... if they are so scared about losing money don't even bother... yesterday I was there around 4 and not one person threw a receipt in the box.. I was the first.... second fundraiser and second time unless you already knew, had no idea about it.. .“

“My experience at Paige and Charlie’s Coney Island was an abundance of spontaneous joy. My husband was driving south on Broadway when he noticed decorations outside. We both agreed to visit for the purpose of supporting a business in our hometown. When we arrived I was immediately impressed with the kind person waiting to hold the door open as we entered. Then as I looked around inside the restaurant there were beautiful murals adorning the walls. My husband placed our order and I went to the dining area. As each person arrived it seemed like a family get together at a favorite relatives’ house. One of my former students came to the restaurant and I got to meet her daughter, “The Birthday Queen” for the first time. Paige and Charlie’s served as the perfect location for the Birthday Queen to enjoy her birthday breakfast! When our food arrived, it was truly a meal made for royalty. I ordered a half breakfast, but it was an abundant breakfast. Each bite was delicious, and the food was so abundant that we both had food left over. Then there was live music and a DJ in the outdoor eating area. I soon learned that we were in the right place at the right time because Saturday, October 4, 2025, was their official grand opening. The music was so great that people dining in the restaurant sang background vocals. I had an opportunity to meet multiple people who shared that it was a multigenerational business, and that made it an extra special experience to support this business. The wisdom of an elder generation combined with the innovation of a younger generation presents possibilities to prosper on purpose. Visiting Paige and Charlie’s Coney Island was a beautiful, memorable, refreshing and joyful experience. Thank you to each person who planned and worked to ensure that this business succeeds. “Came here during a rush and they were working to try and get everyone seated and out. Took a while to get the food which was understandable given that I was seated along with five other groups at the same time. The people here made sure everyone got what they wanted and checked in to make sure everything was going alright. I got the value slam and was pretty full off of just that.“

“I just happened to crash out in Lansing Illinois for the night. This place was right down the road from my room. Had an old school look and a comfortable feeling. The bartender that waited on me was an absolute doll. She took great care of me. I got the twisted turkey sandwich and the rueben quesadilla. I really wasn't expecting much, but let me tell you they were both fantastic. They obviously only use grade A ingredients and it shows. If you're ever in Lansing illinois, JJ KELLEYS is a must stop.“

“Classic supper club hidden in the heart of Highland, IN. Food is always comforting, delicious and the perfect portion. Steaks are cooked on an open flame, so you get a great char taste. Cocktails are always huge, and when the juke box is playing in the bar it feels like I stepped back in time--in the best way. Staff is friendly, and have been around the block. Owner often greets you upfront, and can be found sitting with his family on a Friday night, of which are all friendly and welcoming. Feels like no one is a stranger here.“

“We ordered the cod dinner on 1/29 and it was delicious. However, when we sat down in a booth we noticed an elderly lady struggling to walk up the icy sidewalk from the parking lot. When the young man brought our food we told him about it and suggested someone spread salt on the area. He was nice and thanked us for mentioning it. However, in the 45 minutes we sat there no one followed through and actually salted the sidewalk. Not good, Culvers.“

“Visiting the area and family wanted us to try their brews as one of their favorites. Tried a flight of 10 beers and favs were Tangerine Trackstar, Toxic Words, Lucifer in a haze, Immoveable King, Nuban overlord and the top one Here comes the reaper. We also had the Pretzel and queso for snacks. They were very good and fast. They also had ice tea which is not always available at breweries. I will say the art work gave me pause and some of the names being a Christian but I don't know the background to comment.“

“Disappointing..the chili/koney sauce was very salty to the point it was nesrly inedible. ..I think since it was late afternoon, it simmered to the point where it became concentrated due to evaporation and it needed some liquid to even out the extreme salt content... the dogs were good, the chili cheeseburger was almost impossible to eat..so messy. Fries were.probably the highlight of my visit the lady behind the counter was excellent though 👍👍 Great service I probably would try them again though....possibly the saltiness was an anomaly“
