“What I love about Provecho is the inventive flavors, small plates options, and delicious craft cocktails all set in a gorgeous restaurant with excellent service. I love the seasonality of menu and plethora of interesting options. Most recently we enjoyed the Wagyu Albondiga, Pork Tostadas, Chicken Skewers with Blueberry Salsa, Filet with Winter Squash, Potatas Bravas, and the Fried Plantains. The flavors were bright and complex and absolutely delicious! For dessert, we had the tres leches and the coconut creme brule which was so uniquely plated and tasted absolutely divine. Provecho is our favorite date-night and special occasion spot. I can't recommend it enough!“

“Very atrentive staff and TASTY beers! Only $8 each which is way better than Chicago prices. They even gave our kids little toy packs with yo-yos and rubber spiders! I recommend the tot-chos (tater toots with nacho toppings over them) and the vanilla porter!

Wife says the Veggie Quesadilla is tasty with a lot of variety of vegetables, and she likes the IPA too. Steppin classss on Thursdays!“

Last night, I sampled their newest menu item, Loaded Bacon and Cheese Fries, which were remarkable. The fries were cooked to perfection, with an ideal balance of ranch and cheese, accompanied by outstanding bacon. I appreciate the family-run aspect of the business. For authentic Chicago flavors, including beef hot dogs and Italian Beefs, Depot Hot Dogs is a recommended destination. They also offer items for dogs. Their support for the Humane Society is commendable, demonstrating consideration for both customers and their pets. While new menu items are available, their exceptional bacon cheese fries stand out. “I'll give 5 stars because I love Crown. I've always loved Crown. I probably always will love Crown. But I feel obligated to shout this from the rooftop...YOU GOTTA LOSE THE NEW BOOTHS IN THE TASTING ROOM. WORST IDEA EVER! I know the thought was to add more seating but this isn't it. It's off-putting, makes it seem more cramped, it's awkward, and uncomfortable. Reorganize if need be but make us all hoppy and bring back the high-tops.“

“The porter my partner had was quite good, but my Santa's Boot was only okay. I enjoyed my fried chicken sandwich quite a bit and the additional spice dusting on the bun added just the right amount of heat. Her chicken stromboli was very good, enough for leftovers later that evening. Second time we've been here and we'll likely come back.

Parking: It's almost easier to get here coming off of I-65 as opposed to coming off of US 30.

Kid-friendliness: Kids are restricted after 9 pm per a notice on the door.

Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair entry should not be a problem and the tables are spaced enough for good access.“

“Came in and the place was completely empty, sign said "seat yourselves" it felt kind of awkward but someone came out to greet us a few seconds later. Staff was super friendly and nice! I brought my grandmother and she wanted to split her meal with someone who wasn't able to come to the restaurant in person, so they brought out half of her meal and waited until we were almost done with the other half freshly made and packaged! Lake perch was great! Not like other restaurants that try to serve ocean perch as lake perch. The Nashville hot chicken strips were a little disappointing they didn't have any heat to them, but the chicken was cooked perfectly and the breading was really good so it made up for it! Mac n cheese was delicious, I was even impressed with the fries! None of them were soggy or over salted! I'm sad I couldn't have tried them sooner!“

“Was there last Friday. Food and service were excellent. They were out of the Stagg bourbon that I ordered…which was priced at $30 a pour. The waiter asked if I would like to substitute EH Taylor Small Batch instead…which is priced at $17 per pour in the menu. I said that would be fine. I watched them bring the bottle out which I recognized as Small Batch. The bourbon was excellent. Received my bill and was charged the $30 for the Stagg. Pointed it out to the waiter and he said oh no, the bourbon we substituted for you is priced much higher at $47 a pour and we gave that to you for the same price since we were out of the Stagg. I said, no you gave me the EH Taylor Small Batch which is priced at $17 on the menu. He said no I don’t think so. I said can you please ask the bartender what she poured, she said it was the small batch. They whispered back and forth a bit and she told me that I should take advantage of that bill adjustment…like I got a deal when all I wanted was to be charged according to what the menu stated. In the end our waiter was apologetic, adjusted our bill correctly, and was very friendly and attentive throughout our dinner. Just seemed a bit fishy to me. I don’t know everything about bourbon but, I do some hunting and would never pay $30 let alone $47 a pour for Taylor small batch.“

“When we went apple picking in NW Indiana near Chicago (Oct. '24), we discovered New Oberpfalz Brewing in Griffith, IN. What a great brewery+pub with outdoor and indoor seating to observe Oktoberfest! German cuisine on their menu was very typical of Gasthausen (guest houses) in Bavaria, The variety of their beers, lagers, and ciders created unexpected options to choose from to pair with the menu. The town of Griffith around the brewery has specialty shops to visit and there's a massive Serbian Orthodox Church on the edge of town with striking architecture. We plan to return to explore Griffith and tour New Oberpfalz' brewery.“
