“Breakfast buffet is outstanding and a good price at $15. We stayed at the brown county inn that I highly recommend too...you can go from your room to the pool, lounge or restaurant with our going outside. Very clean, beds were comfortable...and I noticed they have two EV chargers on site too.Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid friendly“
“I've only been here a few times, I don't get to Nashville, In. very often, but when I do, we usually stop here for a quick bite. I had Hobnob's version of French Onion Soup. It was good, although the broth seemed a little weak, but not enough to ruin my meal. Service was nice, friendly. I bought a couple of Peanut Butter cookies on my way out for my hubby. They were good but a little hard.“
“Visited 7-5-22. Only one little gal handling the bar and waiting tables. She definitely deserves a raise. She was pleasant, efficient and never missed a beat. Food and drinks were good as well - just want to let her employer know what a treasure they have working for them.“
“We came during off hours at 3p, so place wasn't busy. We wanted something to hold us until late dinner. Place is real neat from the inside, server was super friendly. We ordered the nachos with chicken to split. Nothing really to brag about except everything came from a bag, nothing in that dish showed a homemade flare. Also from the looks of it to melt the cheese a microwave was used! Overall in food experience meh. They have a bar on way to exit the place, seemed to be the happening area.“
“If you go to Nashville you HAVE to go to Hard Truth. The property is beautiful, the restaurant is amazing, and the tasting room was phenomenal. Servers and bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly. Will be one of our first stops when we come back!!!“
“Property does have somewhat of a rustic charm, but it does not have a running water bathroom, which could be a serious problem for lots of folks (portable outhouse only). The food and drink are fantastic. The people are friendly. One of the most difficult things is you never know when they're going to be open. We live just a few miles away, so I go by there all the time, so sometimes we hope to eat a meal there instead of cooking at home. So if you're relying on them for food and you don't have a plan b, you should call ahead. I think they're trying to be open Thursday through Saturday, but sometimes they're closed when they should be open, etc.Recently they have remodeled the building, but I haven't been there this season to see if the inside has changed.Obviously, I'd like to see if they could get the septic system and the bathroom installed, also, a nice fire pit on a cool evening would be very inviting.“
“We live in Brown County and Brown County Inn is our go to restaurant! In the recent snow event yesterday, our daughter from Bloomington was in the worst of it. 46 got shut down for a while. Our road was impassable. She just turned around and went to Brown county Inn because she couldn’t make it and she got a wonderful meal! We encouraged her to stay there and I just have to say they went above and beyond letting her stay until the road to Bloomington was opened! ?. Thank you all at wonderful Brown County Inn!!Food & drinks: Always good consistant quality and yummy creations! You won’t leave still hungry!“
“My Bloomington based friends took me out to this intriguing place one evening back in January. We didn't really have time to do the full tour of the distillery but we took the opportunity to visit the shop and sample some of their wares. The young lady behind the counter seemed to be glad to have someone to talk to & she helped us make our selection of delights to try. I went for three rye based whiskeys ( High Road Rye, Harvest Rye & Sweet Mash Rye) which were excellent. My friends went for a wider mixture of Toasted Coconut Rum, Cinnamon Vodka & Peanut Butter Whiskey. Uniquely interesting would be the best way to describe them. This place really is something different. If I ever come back to this part of the world I'll be sure to leave enough time to explore it properly. And take home some "souvenirs"!“
“They have your regular bar foods, but they also have some really great appetizer items that I'm now craving regularly! The fried pickles are a favorite of my granddaughter, and the cheese curds are delish. We don't usually get the biscuits and apple butter only because we are native Brown Countians, and we've grown up on that. If you like fried mushrooms, then you HAVE to try theirs. Oh, I can eat the whole thing by myself... which means I have to get a to go box for another fave, the southwest salad...yum! Add chicken, and you have a nice protein boosted meal. The burgers and tenderloins are a repeat order with other family members, and the fried chicken is a must try. The service can be slow, but I think that is likely due to a lack of help. The staff is friendly and tries to make you feel appreciated.“
