“well I'm really torn on if I should recommend or not... most of the time the food is fine but when it comes to fundraisers they are really really horrid. let's put a box out and not put anything on the box so the majority of the people have no idea about tossing their receipts in there for a cause... im pretty sure they make enough money where they can put something on the boxes for the customers... if they are so scared about losing money don't even bother... yesterday I was there around 4 and not one person threw a receipt in the box.. I was the first.... second fundraiser and second time unless you already knew, had no idea about it.. .“

Stumbled on this eatery a few years ago while traveling from Kentucky to IL and it has become a staple and traditional visit. I LOVE THIS PLACE there is absolutely nothing on the menu that I haven't tried that just isn't DELICIOUS!!! “My experience at Paige and Charlie’s Coney Island was an abundance of spontaneous joy. My husband was driving south on Broadway when he noticed decorations outside. We both agreed to visit for the purpose of supporting a business in our hometown. When we arrived I was immediately impressed with the kind person waiting to hold the door open as we entered. Then as I looked around inside the restaurant there were beautiful murals adorning the walls. My husband placed our order and I went to the dining area. As each person arrived it seemed like a family get together at a favorite relatives’ house. One of my former students came to the restaurant and I got to meet her daughter, “The Birthday Queen” for the first time. Paige and Charlie’s served as the perfect location for the Birthday Queen to enjoy her birthday breakfast! When our food arrived, it was truly a meal made for royalty. I ordered a half breakfast, but it was an abundant breakfast. Each bite was delicious, and the food was so abundant that we both had food left over. Then there was live music and a DJ in the outdoor eating area. I soon learned that we were in the right place at the right time because Saturday, October 4, 2025, was their official grand opening. The music was so great that people dining in the restaurant sang background vocals. I had an opportunity to meet multiple people who shared that it was a multigenerational business, and that made it an extra special experience to support this business. The wisdom of an elder generation combined with the innovation of a younger generation presents possibilities to prosper on purpose. Visiting Paige and Charlie’s Coney Island was a beautiful, memorable, refreshing and joyful experience. Thank you to each person who planned and worked to ensure that this business succeeds. “I just happened to crash out in Lansing Illinois for the night. This place was right down the road from my room. Had an old school look and a comfortable feeling. The bartender that waited on me was an absolute doll. She took great care of me. I got the twisted turkey sandwich and the rueben quesadilla. I really wasn't expecting much, but let me tell you they were both fantastic. They obviously only use grade A ingredients and it shows. If you're ever in Lansing illinois, JJ KELLEYS is a must stop.“

“We ordered the cod dinner on 1/29 and it was delicious. However, when we sat down in a booth we noticed an elderly lady struggling to walk up the icy sidewalk from the parking lot. When the young man brought our food we told him about it and suggested someone spread salt on the area. He was nice and thanked us for mentioning it. However, in the 45 minutes we sat there no one followed through and actually salted the sidewalk. Not good, Culvers.“

“Disappointing..the chili/koney sauce was very salty to the point it was nesrly inedible. ..I think since it was late afternoon, it simmered to the point where it became concentrated due to evaporation and it needed some liquid to even out the extreme salt content... the dogs were good, the chili cheeseburger was almost impossible to eat..so messy. Fries were.probably the highlight of my visit the lady behind the counter was excellent though 👍👍 Great service I probably would try them again though....possibly the saltiness was an anomaly“

“This is a fantastic steakhouse. We had a great time dining here last Saturday night. Our rib-eye steaks were juicy and tender, the mashed potatoes were delicious, and the drinks were perfectly made. The decor and atmosphere are a bit simple, but the food was excellent, and it's only 10 minutes from home. We've heard the new owners are renovating, and we hope it will give the restaurant a more luxurious feel to match the quality of the food. All in all, we'll definitely be back“

“My server Irene was nice and very attentive. She suggested a couple of entrees. The Billionaires Bacon Burger was satisfying and the Sweet Potato Fries were delicious!! The Pineapple Habanero Wings were a solid 10/10. They also have the coldest Draft Beers I've ever had so that's definitely a plus. The atmosphere was comfortable. I genuinely recommend you give them a try.“
