“A friend recommended Las Jacarandas for great Mexican food in the area. We ordered a ton of items to take out. Was not disappointed whatsoever! Tried an assortment of items (chile relleno dinner, variety of tacos such as beef, fish, steak, pork, chorizo, chicken mole) and everything was excellent! “Not sure if they're affiliated, but we had eaten at the Schererville location and liked it so we' thought we'd try the Merrillville location this time around. Really love the decor inside and out, as well as the atmosphere. We were greeted warmly by a gentleman who may have been a manager? Seated right away. This was at 5:30 on a Saturday and not very crowded so that was nice. Our waiter took a bit of time to greet us, but once we ordered our drinks they came fairly quickly. Not so much with the food. Mexican restaurants are notoriously quick when it comes to delivering your food right away so I was actually okay with having a bit of extra time before eating. That said everything was slow thereafter. I was out of water and never got a refill. Took a minute for the waiter check in after we finished our food. Needed boxes and again, after delivering therm, he was MIA. Finally got the check.

All of the employees were friendly and professional, I just felt like the waiter could have been a bit more attentive.
