The manager surprised us with chocolate covered strawberries, our table decorated with roses, and gave me a rose! Our hostess made us a special two year plate with a delicious raspberry sauce. “I CANNOT believe they are closing the “Tea Room.” (Making room for more chocolate production). What a devastating loss to Kansas City! A lovely experience like none other. Chocolates are delicious, but a rare splurge. Very sad decision, especially since they aren’t giving their legions of fans much of a chance to dine one last time in their lovely, quaint and unique dining room...And no. “The lemon/raspberry cupcake I had was GF/vegan—I require neither but my son is celiac. I wish I had bought a dozen for just myself. This is a moist cupcake with great lemon flavor, and I have no idea how they made such amazing vegan buttercream. The owner told me they are a highly symptomatic celiac so the space is strictly GF. I would go back in a second. For three treats and two bottles of water, I only spent $17.“

“Walking in, the restaurant was much nicer than I expected. We arrived 30 minutes before closing, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The Don Corleone pizza, loaded with processed meats, wasn't overwhelmingly salty. The Pepperoni Pizza was excellent too. Both had a medium-sized crust with a good crunch. Neither pizza was too oily or doughy. If you enjoy dipping in ranch or adding Parmesan, those are complimentary. When it was time to go, they happily boxed up our leftovers, using aluminum foil to separate the two types of pizza we ordered.“

“We had Kate’s for our wedding back in October! Flavors were absolutely amazing!! These are the best macarons we have had! My now husband is a pretty loyal customer and has loved every flavor he’s had! Kate was very responsive to emails and great to work with! These were a huge hit at the wedding and were gone pretty quickly!“

“First time here and we really enjoyed the food and our experience. I had the biscuits and gravy and my wife had the vegan breakfast wrap. Both were done perfectly and were very tasty. The coffee and iced tea were also very good. Service was friendly and attentive. This feels like a good place to sit and work or read for a couple of hours. We'll definitely be back.“

“Beyond impressed! My boyfriend's favorite dessert is a key lime pie. He has a son that has a gluten and dairy allergy and his one request for his birthday this year was a key lime pie that he could share with his son. That was not an easy task to locate. Even though it is not something they offer on their menu, Mud Pie Bakery was willing to do a special order for a gluten free, dairy free key lime pie and I must say, we were blown away! It was delicious! The crust was delicious, the filling was tangy, and the whipped topping was sweet and balanced everything else out! Not only that, but it looked beautiful! The best part is that my boyfriend's son got to enjoy a sweet treat that the rest of the family was having and that is something that rarely happens, due to his dietary restrictions! From the savory items to the sweet items, it’s all good, and their special mix of sweeteners not only doesn’t hit weird on the tongue, but can easily make you think you’re not eating a substitute product! My girlfriend went all-in on the deep dish with black olives, mushrooms, and Canadian bacon (her first deep dish experience, by the way), and she was immediately converted. Meanwhile, I kept it classic with a house salad, loaded with blue cheese dressing that I’m convinced is straight from the dressing gods. “I treated myself this morning by stopping in to this charming bakeshop. It was late morning but the offerings were still plentiful. I opted for a strawberry scone and coffee. The scone was perfection! Fresh strawberries atop a perfectly baked scone with just a drizzle of glaze. Not too sweet and just right. I'll be back the next time I'm in town!“

“Wanna give serious kudos to the staff at this place, we had two tables of 6 walk in for a 6:45 reservation on a Saturday night and my friends booked the wrong days (totally our fault) and the host was so kind and just automatically said that she could figure it out, we just came from a full day at waterworld so we were HUNGRY haha. Loved our server Dylan and the food was freaking awesome and for the price of $22 it way exceeded my expectations! I live in foco and will absolutely be back 🙂“
