“Whooooa. We've driven by this little place a million times but never stopped by, which a was a huge mistake. The store itself is great, with drinks, desserts, and some really cool antique KC items. The food? FANTASTIC. We got the lasagna with Alfredo, toasted ravioli, chicken spiedini, and the Italian beef pizza. The service was also great; food was ready on time, and despite being lunch-hour busy, they answered all my questions and took the time to make sure everything was correct. “This location is nearly new and very nice. It has an open modern feel, yet cozy and comfortable. The endless salad and breadsticks were delicious and nearly identical to what they served 25-30 years ago. The portions were good and the food was mostly good as well. My chicken fettuccine Alfredo was mostly dry pasta. Others in my party ordered more sauce for their spaghetti and scampi. My 13 month old enjoyed the soft pasta that didn’t have sauce.“

“Found Avenues through a Groupon. We bought the Shrimp Boil, Filet and Shrimp Scampi, Antipasto platter, and two cannolis. The meal portions were huge, our order could have easily fed 4 people. The shrimp boil was spicy, with a lot of shrimp, potatoes, sausage, and a whole ear of corn. The filet was flavorful, and the shrimp scampi was served similar to Alfredo, it tasted so good! The antipasto platter has lots of yummy bites, I really enjoyed the salami and artichoke hearts. The cannolis were great too! They also included a little bag of decorated mini cookies, with a ribbon and Go Royals! tag. I'm sure it was part of one of the entrees we ordered, but an unexpected but delightful little bread pudding was in our ca bag as well. Food was great, portions were large, and the staff at curbside was very nice. I do wish GPS hadn't left us about halfa block away though.“

“Friends took me out for my 91st birthday and I requested Paulo's. Been there many times for 45 years. Always order chicken Piccata. Had garlic bread which was excellent. My order came and There was about a full cup of mashed potatoes with a small chicken breast on it. About 2". Chicken was not very tender and I ate the lunch in about 5 bites. Cost $16. no veggies or salad. Gentleman came over and asked how everything was and I told him . Portion was so small. He was very nice and took my lunch price off the bill. I will be back one more time because I really always liked it there. Also had lunch at 2:30 and no one else there but 3 people at the bar. I hope there is some improvement in the portions of some memu items in the future.“
